We were out doing random errands one Saturday, and I had thrown in my flat bike tire in case we found time to get it fixed. I was intending to go to a bike shop closer to home, but as we were out in Hoffman we just happened to find this place. We stopped in with my tire and we were quickly and warmly greeted by someone who gave us a time estimate and started checking it out. While he worked we walked around their large bike shop and let our kid take some test drives. During this time the guy came to us a few times and showed me what was wrong and some of the debris that had been in the wheel. Also while here I found a much needed bike pump and got the employee's stamp of approval for it. It only took around 15 minutes and everything was set to go, and gave me some advice on how to avoid this in the future. While it's a bit far from home to make it my regular spot for bike maintenance I'm glad we found it and recommend it to anyone nearby. read more

I've been having a lot of problems with the eTap on my bike after buying it from a cycling friend and more so after a fellow cyclist fell into me when we were stopped for traffic. I live in Georgia and I've had the bike looked at three times, 2 times by the same shop and another time by a cycling friend. I was always told that the issue was fixed, but found out on a ride after the 'fix' that the issue wasn't fixed. I finally decided to have Crank look at the bike to determine what was wrong and they fixed it. I went for a 30 mile ride with the group and finally felt that I was riding with a solid bike. We've been calling around and all the shops near us have been saying they have weeks-long waiting lists, so I tried Crank Revolution and the guy on the phone was super nice and said they'd be able to work us in this week. My husband dropped his bike off yesterday afternoon, and after a quick inspection was told they could give his bike a tune up, fix his brakes, and put on new tires, and have it ready by Sunday!! I live about the same distance from two other bike shops, but when I called Crank Revolution to inquire about pricing, they were the friendliest over the phone, so I took my box of parts here. My first experience with this shop was great. This review is about the second. First, let me introduce T.C. who greeted me. I have a carbon Cannondale Synapse with Ultegra DI2. During COVID, I did some at-home adjustments and replaced the chain. Incorrectly - which is why I drove 20 mins extra to come here. T.C. was very condescending, including the remark, "that's why you bring it to a professional bike shop". My reply was, "that's why I'm here". It's a good thing, too, because, without their Pro Tune for $217.38, the chain wouldn't have COME OFF the first time I shifted to the large chain ring. But the best part came after my third ride when I lifted my bike onto my stand and the rear wheel CAME OFF. Thankfully, in my garage and not underway, which could have been catastrophic. Jeremy, the owner, was pleasant and receptive when I told him of my experience dropping the bike off. I think every shop is entitled to a bad day - this was my experience here. read more

Found my new bike shop! Wait time for service at my normal bike shop was a month, so I tried out Crank Revolution. Needed new tubes, tires, spoke repair and full tune-up. Mark explained everything they would do and said it would take 2-3 days! Picked up the bike on day 3, and after riding 30 miles took it back over for a minor "squeak". Instead of trying to blame me or tell me I didn't know what I was talking about, TC put it up on the rack, tested it, explain the issue to me and resolved it in minutes. I have been trying out new bike shops to see where I best fit in and who provides the best customer service. I wanted a place where I could actually talk to my mechanic and have a real-time discussion about what's going on with my bike, and get expert advice/recommendations on what to purchase, what not to purchase, and how to best utilize the bike I have. THIS IS THE PLACE. I first brought my bike in to have a spoke replaced. Over the phone they said they could have it back to me in 24 hours. I brought it in and they fixed it same day within 2 hours! The second time I brought my bike in, I wanted advice on some new tires. Over the phone they said 72 hour turn around time. In person, 20 minutes! My mechanic made some adjustments, swapped out the tires, and casually talked bikes with me while he worked. Some bike shops feel a little pretentious to me, and for a novice rider, that can feel a little intimidating at times. Not here! Shitty store, they think too high of themselves and their products. They are also super racist, me and my cousin are colored, they were treating us with total arrogance, while as we were talking to them, a white customer walked in, and they treated him with a totally different attitude. My cousin brought in his electric bicycle because I had a flat tire and they wouldn't stop going off about how that's probably wouldn't have happened if we purchased one of the products which, by the way are extremely overpriced. They did a stopgap arrangement towards the problem of the flat tire and it happened again for a second time. When he brought the bike in for the second flat tire on the same wheel, they kept passing comments about how crappy the bike is how cheap it is, and how much better their products are. They think too highly of the own products. We aren't serious bikers, being the reason we didn't purchase one of their over priced e bikes. They cut a corner the second time while installing the tire as well leaving our bike with a messed up brake that is now scraping off of the tire. When we went to ask them about the brake problem they refused to service our bike and now we are left with a messed up bike. Shitty attitudes, shitty servicing, egos too high. Overall a horrible experience. Save your patience time and money and find another shop that treats people equally and respectfully. read more

I don't know where to start with how kind and gentlemanly service I received at Crank. I went to a local park district bike sale and Jeremy from Crank was there volunteering to give adjustments i think to people that purchased bikes. We spoke for a few minutes about my bike that is not working and he told me to bring it over. I went back with my bike and with a few twists and turns my bike was rideable, he also pointed out some broken spokes and a few other things. He offered to take it to the shop for me (which was so nice) but I brought it in. There I met Sam, he said he could have it done in a very short time but I chose to leave it. I picked it up the next day and was extremely pleased with my "NEW" not really a new bike but it sure felt like it. The price was very reasonable, the timing was impeccable and the service was outstanding. Sam even left his lunch sitting and offered to put my bike into my car without me even having to ask.
