It is what it is, a store which serves it's purpose in the community. Local and now recently, open for 24 hours a day. Hats off to the local store! For years now Southfields Food & Wine has competed and stood it's ground with a Budgens on the other side of the road but soon a Tesco Express will be opening just a few doors down. This probably being the reason they decided to take the step of staying open 24 hours a day. A small edge on the competition. Inside is probably as one would expect. They do, however, have quite a good variety in their stock and you're likely to pick up more than you intended to during a visit. Although, one may usually expect that to happen anyway. The down side is that Southfields Food & Wine does cost a little more than one would hope. And there you have it! Ian.

Prices are a little bit more expensive than you could find stuff in a supermarket, but seeing as its so close to people houses I expect they chose to buy the forgotten things there as opposed to driving a fair way to the nearest supermarket. Shop is well laid out but a bit cramped in places. Staff are really friendly and know where everything is useful if you are in a rush. Great little local Spar.

Anywayin case you are lost. Retail 24 is a retail shop open 24 hours a day. Although it has been known to sell booze after hours this of course does not happen anymore because too many people knew about it and the Police stop in for their snacks. I have chatted with many a copper at 3am about stuff whilst buying the morning paper, a tandoori chicken in pitta sandwich and a can of Orangina. Here you can buyfags, booze, crisps, sweets, chocolate, cat food, dog food, there is a freezer, a chiller with hams, cheeses, milk and more, newspapers, magazines, cereal, tinned food and everything a convenience store should have. Located by the Odeon and Morrisions, this is a much much quicker place to purchase one thing rather than the supermarket. Watch out for chavs in cars late at night though. They often get upset when told they cannot buy more drink in the early hours of the morning. PS - This place is even open Xmas day

The counter is now to the left as you walk in, selling the usual cigs, sweets and gas and electric. There is a freezer section to get any last minute bits and are not as expensive as the usual conveinence stores tend to be.
