This is the type of corner shop most corner shops want to be. It's professionally run (meaning in a…read moreprofessional manner, not by a large chain), clean, well-stocked, and reasonably priced. While many newsagents stock solely tinned and convenience food, Holborns also carried a large selection of fresh fruit, veg, meats and refrigerated foods. I remember stopping by there when I needed that certain ingredient for a recipe, thinking no way they'll have this, but I'll try and sure enough, there it was. Hooray! They carry fireworks and Christmas trees during the appropriate times of year. They also offer a newspaper delivery service, and, if I'm remembering right, a grocery delivery service for a small fee.

The have a reasonable selection of fresh fruit and vegeatables, as well as the standard tins and packets you expect from a convienience store, as well as a good range of magazines and newspapers. The staff are very friendly , and keep the shop neat and tidy. The best thing is that the prices are reasonable, perhaps not as cheap as a supermarket but so much more convienient for bits and pieces.

Think the store also has a chemist in it too which is handy for prescriptions whilst you are shopping. The shelves are well stacked most of the time and the floor is always clean. Good selection and availability of products . Staff are well presented and are friendly. They also seem to know where most products are if you cant find anything unlike quite a few supermarkets where they don't actually know where products are. Overall good store.

The store stocks a range of products which cater for day to day needs. There's a good pattisery if you can catch the products when they're fresh. Fresh meat and veg are always available and they compare very favourably with the supermarkets. There is a small off-licence section although you'll get better choice at the offy next door. Papers and lottery are available. Staff are generally friendly although they can get a little flustered when the store gets busy. The best thing about the store is the opening times - open till late (around 10pm) each night and longer than standard hours on a Sunday!

There are some fairly glaring gaps in the produce on offer (where the feck is the spinach?!), but overall there's a pretty good selection including an in-store bakery, fruit and veg, dairy, alcohol, and a small home supplies section. The store is reasonably well laid-out, although it gets particularly crammed at busier times (i.e. 6-8pm on weekdays). That said, I've never had a long wait at the checkouts. The convenience of this store has made it my new go-to, and I'm pretty sure it'll stay that way for a while.

Whenever I am queuing with my pint of milk, one of the staff will ask the following - how is the family/how is business/how is the love life? (answer; great/ok/not so great). Because my name is Cari, one of the guys would give me DVDs of Carry on films when I came in. Cari -Carry -geddit? So, apart from the great owners, for a convenience store, it is pretty comprehensive. If you want fancy veg or a cheese with a French name, I would get thee to Tescos', but this is great for booze, sweets and snacks,and all those non fancy essentials. There is also a coffee and sandwich corner in part of the shop. The food is done by the next door cafe, 5 At The Bridge, so its good.
