I'm all about supporting local small businesses, but unless you have a big expensive project, they dont want your business here. I've come in 3 or 4 times now to get school and work documents printed, and every time the guy at the desk treats me like I'm a nuisance. From the first time I came in he was nothing but heavy sighs, dragging feet, and eyerolls. This last time I came in it was 10 minutes til close, completely dead inside the store, and I had two files on a flash drive that I needed several copies of. It wouldn't have amounted to much more than 20 pages. He plugged my flash drive in and couldn't find the right drive. I offered to come around the corner and point it out to him (I was trying to stay calm and polite because he was visibly agitated) and he snapped at me that he was too busy and only had five minutes to close. I didn't fight him, and decided to find somewhere else to take my business. I did, easily. Not 7 minutes away you can print your small projects for 15 cents a page at the Santa Paula public library. The staff there are really nice and friendly, and instead of supporting just one (rude) member of the community, you can support the whole community. I'm off to go get my library card now so I never have to deal with Crane again. read more

I have known the Crane family for nearly a half century and have been doing business with them for over 33 years. They are a family with good values and morals. Not one of them has a racist bone in their body. To hear any notion of that is ridiculous to my ears. One needs to go in with a friendly attitude and a welcoming mind to see just that. For the record I am an American of Mexican descent. They have a small and consistent business in Santa Paula. Their service is business-like and they have helped me in many ways throughout the years developing post cards, flyers, cards and other printing needs of mine. They continue to assist me with my FedEx deliveries in a simple, easy to use format and I have had nothing but success with them. I would not hesitate to use them again for these purposes. read more

Crane Printing is listed as a FedEx location, and you can drop your boxes off here near the front door (which is unsecured), but they won't scan your package into their system or provide a receipt. I've gotten lame excuses like "we're not hooked up to their system." Well, get hooked up! You're listed as a FedEx location on their site. Even independent FedEx locations should scan, provide a receipt, and securely store dropoffs. The UPS store up the street does this with ease. To actually get a package scanned with a receipt you need to go all the way to Ventura. Overall, the owner is friendly and never lost a package, but I don't like just leaving packages by the door without a receipt of drop off. What if someone comes in a steals a box while the owner is busy? If it's a valuable item I drive the extra miles to Ventura which is a drag. read more

I tried to support small town but I'll never come back here. The person working is RUDE. I was there to make copies of a restaurant menu. The guy is straight up fowl and disrespectful. He was all huffy and puffy when I walked in for no reason. Whenever I'd ask a question I'd get a short or smart response. He seemed bothered by my presence. He is extremely rude FOR NO REASON. Like seriously, I walked in and he like rolled his eyes when I said hello and that I was there to get copies made. Then he said he didn't have the paper I needed and it wasn't worth it for him to get it to only make 75 copies. Damn, he was just so fowl and condescending for no reason. You can just say we dont carry that stock and that's that. This guy deserves to be shut down. Hes apparently known in the community to be very rude to customers. I dont get it. I was chipper and super polite the entire time, but he was just acting like a you know what. I'll never bring business to them again. read more

This guy was incredibly rude from the moment I walked in the door, glancing at the clock every few minutes while i explained what I needed. Apparently he only wants big projects, which I think would be smart to advertise on his website, since as soon as I mentioned I needed 5-10 pages he scoffed and said "I don't have time for that." Incredibly disrespectful, acted like he was doing me a huge favor by listening to me at all, even though I was the only person in the store. Literally go anywhere else; I'm all for local businesses but I came into the store in a great mood and left feeling horrible. read more

I live in Santa Paula locally and this business has terrible customer service and they do not give you a receipt for Fed Ex packages delivered through their service. They are a "Fed Ex Authorized Ship Center" but they DO NOT give receipts for packages shipped through their business. I asked the owner if this is a "normal" policy for Fed Ex and he stated, "I don't know what is normal, but this is how I do it". This business has just chosen to not give customers receipts and this is completely against Fed Ex policies. I have made a complaint to Fed Ex and will never do business here. I suggest driving to Ventura to go to a real Fed Ex Authorized Ship Center that actually runs it's business as they are supposed to according to Fed Ex Policies. read more

Steve Crane has helped me with rush orders on several occasions and did not charge additional fees. The store may look chaotic but it all works for me. I can email documents and images in the morning and pick up that afternoon. read more
