Heaven on a Fork! Even after ten years of visits, the bloom is not off the rose!…read more For this lunch to-go visit, I was in the mood for spicy food, so I went with their Chorizo meal. So how was it? Read on to find out. Arriving- They are on Main St., just a few seconds off US Route 27 so they are simple to find. There is a private parking lot that can be a bit of a challenge as they are insanely popular. Ambience- It is a combination Mexican market and restaurant that is so common in this part of the state. There are quite a few tables and booths that are kept nice and clean. You order and pay the cashier, and they'll call you when it's ready. This is a very, very casual place! BTW-This place has a spotless open kitchen. Not to be missed is the complimentary, with purchase, Salsa Bar. Delicious! There are plenty of small to-go containers to sample the bar items if you're taking your meal home like I did on this visit. Customer Service- Everyone that works here will be Hispanic, but all the customer-facing folks speak excellent English. They are always friendly, and I've never had a problem. Pro Tip- If you are so inclined, before you place your order, walk to the coolers at the back of the market and grab yourself a cold brewski! Pro Tip- The menu board is in Spanish but there are English menus readily available. Food- All your Mexican favorites, both meats and seafood, in very generous portions. I ordered the Chorizo meal @ $14. My picture is a little deceiving. See that slab of delicious spicy sausage? There is another piece the same size, directly underneath! I put the box on my scale at home and it was just under 2 lbs.! That's a lot of lunch and it was awesome. Conclusion- So they have over 100 reviews @ 4.5 stars and they deserve it. It's an inexpensive, casual "Heaven on a Fork" kind of place!

If you're looking for some authentic Mexican food and you are in Avon Park... this it it!!!…read more We love the food here. It's a walk-up counter and the menu is above and they also have menus you can order from. As for service, they do bring you the food to your table if you are going to eat here and there is a salsa and condiments bar with a little bit of everything to top your tacos or any other plate you order. The restaurant is part of the store, so you can shop for items for your home and even get a piñata for a party!!! We love the place and it good home cooked authentic food.

This is one of the finest Italian/Pizza/Sub shops in the area and I've never talked about their awesome cheesesteak! This review rectifies this. Customer Service- So I blew into order my cheesesteak to-go. The young lady at the counter was a little chatty as I am and just fine. It took me maybe two minutes and my sammich was out in about five more. No choice but five stars! Food- So they bake their own rolls here which is a big plus. The gold standard for cheesesteak is an Amoroso roll from the Philadelphia area. These are not that but very good. There was plenty of tender meat with no fatty pieces. Good stuff! Here they add peppers onions & mushrooms, and I have no problem with that, and they were tasty. They use White American cheese, and it was tasty and there was plenty of it. Now for something weird and wonderful. A couple of years ago a good friend asked me to try adding pepperoni to my cheesesteak. I did and it was awesome! I've been doing it ever since and this time it costs me an extra buck. The basic sandwich is $11.99. I brought this bad boy home, and you can see my picture. It was an excellent filling cheesesteak, and I love supporting a local business. Five stars!

Our server, Herbie, greeted us at the door with a smile and seated us promptly. The restaurant was fairly busy. The atmosphere was cheerful with lively conversations. Herbie was very attentive and friendly. Our party of four ordered an appetizer of Beer Battered Mushrooms for the table. They were piping hot and tasty. Herbie also brought garlic breadsticks for us to share. I ordered the Greek Salad. It proved to be one of the best salads I have eaten at a restaurant. The ingredients were fresh, crisp, abundant and delicious. No need for a take home box. I finished the entire thing! The rest of our party was equally satisfied. The pork chops were tender and flavorful and filling. We thoroughly had a delightful evening and look forward to returning in the near future. I highly recommend Olympic Restaurant.

I went with the Cuban sandwich and a side of potato salad. The sandwich was very good--full of flavor and nicely prepared. The potato salad was a little different than I'm used to, with the potatoes more ground up, but it was still very tasty. Dulce S was our server and she was very attentive and pleasant throughout the meal. I couldn't finish everything, so I grabbed a slice of red velvet cake to go. She threw in some extra pickles Overall, the meal was very affordable, and we'll definitely be back again.

By the time our friendly waitress came to take our order, I was ready to follow Steven's advice and try one of their pizzas. It did not take long before a small pie arrived, generously topped with pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, and onions. The flavors were spot on, and with a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for a little kick, it was perfect. I enjoyed it so much that while we spent the next 20 minutes chatting about travel, Yelp, and my sprinter van, I looked down to find I had polished off the entire pizza without even realizing it. Service was warm and attentive throughout. Our waitress made sure we were well cared for and handled splitting the check with ease. Market 27 also offers a wide variety of drinks, from sodas to beers. I went with a macro brew this time, but next visit I will branch out and try something different. Overall, Market 27 delivered a welcoming atmosphere, delicious food, and great service. It's an excellent choice for a casual meet‑up or a satisfying meal. This is an update focusing on my fine lunch so read my original review for more detail on this excellent chain. Customer service- I blew in intent on lunch to-go and moseyed up to the counter with no wait. The always smiling young lady efficiently processed my order and it was ready in about 5 minutes. Food- My go-to order here is usually three tenders with fries and slaw for $14 and change. A biscuit or role comes along for the ride. I brought this bad boy home and plated it up. That was supposed to be three tenders, but I think they went a little overboard! Now you see why I ordered the slaw. See my picture. As my cholesterol spiked in anticipation, a loosened my belt in preparation and attacked. Taste- OMG! Tender, juicy, white meat tenders with perfectly crunchy batter. Very good fries but they are consistently undercooked for about a minute. Fresh, crunchy slaw. It was several hours until I could write this update because I was comatose in my recliner! An easy 4 stars and probably 4.5. The minimal parking can get a little crazy and the fries need a little more time but that doesn't stop their legions of fans from stopping by including me. I think I'll survive until Christmas!
