UNAUTHORIZED RECURRING CHARGES, NO WORK DELIVERED, REFUND STILL UNRESOLVED…read more We hired SearchPro Systems and were charged $360 per week -- on a card we had not used for any other purpose -- for over a year, totaling approximately $18,720. We cancelled our agreement in writing shortly after signing it and closed the project and the businesses that the work was intended for, confirming this in a formal letter. Despite this, the weekly charges continued and no work was performed on our account. When we raised this, we were told our original account manager was no longer with the company, and no one else took ownership of resolving it. One of the owners, Andy, acknowledged the issue and said he would refund us, but has since proposed multiple partial-payment arrangements (a PayPal invoice paid back over 90 days, then payments spread out further) rather than refunding the card directly. As of this writing, we have not received a refund. The contract also quietly included a clause requiring $500 per month indefinitely if you ever leave, because SearchPro considers itself the owner of the website's backend and technical infrastructure. If you don't catch this clause before signing, consider it a red flag -- ask them to remove it before you agree to anything.
