We're building a custom home in Naples and our developer selected Craig Stevens at Craig's Pacific Pool & Spa Center (located at 930 SE 8th Terrace, Cape Coral FL 33990; phone 239-458-8600) whom we didn't know prior. After an initial meeting, he sent us a black and white engineering drawing of the pool where we had great difficulty reading the numbers even when we enlarged them.
The drawing didn't incorporate some of the things we had mentioned to him, so we felt Craig wasn't listening to us, and it didn't show how the pool would fit onto our property.
So, we asked him to email us a color CAD drawing to help us in this regard. Over the next two months, we asked him over a dozen times for this CAD drawing but he never responded. We complained to our master builder about him, but they wouldn't change from Craig's Pacific Pools (likely because Craig won their business by giving them the lowest price..red flag).
Out of frustration, we met with a key person at Nassau Pools in Naples, who had wonderful ideas, and provided us with a beautiful color CAD drawing the next morning. Our builder said they wouldn't switch to Nassau (but we found out later that our builder had hired Nassau Pools to build pools for 2 of their model homes) so we provided their CAD drawing to Craig's Pacific Pool and Spa Center.
This Nassau Pools CAD drawing was excellent, but no one noticed that the depth of the maybe 6-inch shelf holding 3 bubblers wasn't specified.
Instead of asking for this important depth info, Craig decided to build our pool by assuming we wanted a "bench" that was about 3-4 feet deep, and installed bubblers that didn't even break the surface of the water. We had said we wanted the soothing sounds of the bubblers, like most customers would want.
We had a meeting with Craig, and asked why he didn't ask anyone how deep the shelf should be before building, and he just shrugged his shoulders and said he it wasn't his job to do that, the plan should have had that info. OMG.
He then seemed to complain that the bubblers didn't even break the water level, but he was the one who decided to build them to that height.
We found out later from many friends in Naples that Craig Stevens at Craig's Pacific Pool &Spa is known as one of the worst pool builders in Naples, and only wins business with developers by being the lowest cost pool builder. He is NOT a creative pool designer who can even do a CAD drawing, and he's a clueless older man who has trouble communicating anything. He seemed nice enough, but when we were giving him tough feedback his reaction was to smile and slightly laugh. Very unprofessional and not someone any customer would want building their pool or spa.
If you want a quality pool designed and built, you'd do well to stay away from Craig at Craig's Pacific Pools. read more
