Over $100 for a synthetic BLEND oil change that normally costs me $65 at most with the competitor up the street. I had asked for a roundabout price for the blend on the phone and was told around $70. $100 is not near $70 like I was told. I have a full synthetic car that costs less to have the oil changed in it. Based on this I refuse to go back as every dollar counts especially in this economy.

One ended up just being sensors having gone out - fixed! The other problem had to do with my door locks not functioning. They spent many hours trying to troubleshoot the problem, and learned a LOT about my car's crazy door locks. In the end, the answer Bud came up with he was 85% sure about - so he suggested we wait until the problem grew more pronounced. He didn't want me to spend the money unless he was 100% sure it would fix the problem! How often does a mechanic tell you "I could fix this, but I don't want to yet - it's not a safety issue, so come back when the problem is more pronounced." The previous two shops I'd taken this problem to didn't spend anywhere near the time diagnosing the problem - but they were quite happy to suggest I spend $900+ on a fix. (BTW, when I do finally take this problem in - it'll be closer to $600 to fix.) The long and the short of it is - I found my St Charles mechanic and I couldn't be happier.
