It was a hot day and she started off with can I get you guys a cold water? How sweet is that?!?! Then Craig came in and also greeted us like he knew us! I was sold a new carpet floor on my boat although I wanted gator skin due to the recommendation that it would be costly repair when torn and difficult to maintain. They said they were going to "install more carpet than what's there and cover the entire floor and change the snap locations" when they actually just used the exact same layout that was already there... I received a call on a Friday saying "your boat is done come get it" without any notification prior and expected it to be another week so I dropped everything and went across town to only find out it was completely unacceptable with crooked lines, off center cuts and bubbles in the carpet. While they did take it back and repair it- I was asked to "go ahead and pay" ahead of receiving a finished product fully completed to satisfactory standards. Additionally- I much preferred gator skin and have learned through the quality of install on the carpet by this shop that it is probably the installation that isn't favorable as the gator skin requires more precision and attention to detail. I was offered no condolences to the trouble and multiple trips across town. I also told them I had a wakeboard tower in the beginning and provided dimensions and when I got there they said they would have to work on it in the parking lot because their door is too short. I would avoid upholstery at this location. Quality is low- follow through is low as they left grease on the seats, dirty rags in the boat and overall professional presentation is extremely poor. I felt like I was putting them out for asking for what I wanted... shame on me for sticking with them to do the project... I'm very disappointed with this project. read more

Came here to get the seam fixed on my Volvo. The driver seat seam in the middle had come undone and for a steal at 75 (other places I called started at 125) my seat was fixed back to it's original condition in 1.5 hrs. They where super nice while I waited def recommend them and will send all my friends and family here. read more

CCU was highly recommended by several folks in the auto industry whose only experience with their work was either old or anecdotal. I had a dash installed. It was loose, it was ill fitted. It was something I could have had done on the South side of Phoenix--for a LOT less. Craig has been around for decades and continues getting business based on a reputation he gained ages ago. First tried this shop last summer with a bunch of outdoor patio furniture cushions. They turned out great! Even my wife was happy..whew. So I decided to give them a shot this summer with a grill cover. They made a beautiful cover that fits perfect and looks fantastic! What can't these guys do? My next job will probably be getting the leather seat(s) in my wife's car either redone or "refreshed" just gotta get her to let go of the check book long enough. The guy did some leather cars seats and messed them up -- well, sometimes that happens. Then I tried him for a motorcycle seat. Without me saying a single word, he got defensive and started yelling at me (seat cover was on crooked). Then he grabbed my arm and literally pushed me out the door. I called the police. He lied and said I (70 years old) was the aggressor. His wife was the only witness. When I mentioned reviews, he said he "has lots of friends that write good reviews" for him. this guy is freakin rude. i brought my saddlebags for my harley to get carpeted he promised a particular day. and it wasnt ready. don't make promises.....dont be rude when customers call to ask for items that were promised.....the workmanship was fantastic. you deserve more..take this as an opportunity for improvement.. good luck craig! read more

The owner answer this to my post, Reggie, I am sorry you feel the way you do about the work we did. The job was completed as requested by you and you also approved when you picked the car up. As far as the sensor goes we told you to take the vehicle to the dealer and if they could prove that there is an issue and it was our fault that we would be happy to pay for the repair after I have talked with the dealer. I will be more than happy to buy you a new phone charger if you have not found it. We did not take your phone charger as we told you on the phone. Please check where you may have put it before the car came to us as it was not in your car! Please google 2001 Audi TT, your year, make and model of car and you will see that this is a huge issue with these cars, that has nothing to do with us or our work. Again, we are sorry you feel the way you do. The job was not completed as now I have another issue with the top. When it rains the water filters in the inside, I called the owner regarding this issues and he quickly escalated stating I needed to add another part to the top witch doesn't make any sense since he did not mentioned it before. It seems that he wants more money after the job was done was done wrong. The owner Craig has poor professional skills and does not know how to communicate with clients as he abruptly hanged up the phone on me twice when I was trying to resolve this issue. I will proceed with legal action as the owner is rude and did a horrible job on my car. I drove out to Craigs on a mission to get my motorcycle seat custom done in football leather. I had read Craigs website where they brag about doing "custom" work. From the first impression to the moment I walked out this is NOT a place I would brag about. The parrot (crap) all over the lobby to the rude and dismissive owner made sure I would NEVER return or give any work at all to these guys. The first thing out of Craigs mouth was "It can't be done". Funny that the next place I went to, saw my vision with the seat and completed the work in a matter of 2 days FABULOUSLY and didn't blink at taking football leather to the seat. I would (and do) tell anyone looking for custom upholstery NOT to make the drive to Craigs. read more

I took my ottoman there to get re upholstered and was told it would be $175.00. I thought that was a bit much but as I had not compared prices (big mistake) I figured you get what you pay for. When I picked it up I was just thrilled to have it done. When I got it home, upon further inspection I noticed the new stuffing they put in was less then fluffy. It sunk in the middle all most as much as it had when I brought it in. Everyone I showed it to said the same thing. Well I called them to let them know I was unhappy with the results. I got the message machine, left a message, no return call. That was in March of 2014. So I'm left feeling disappointed and ripped off. My advice, inspect your goods before leaving the shop. read more

I brought in an old and beat up seat to be completely redone, new vinyl and paint/brought back to life. I had pretty specific requests and wanted a very specific color combination. Being new to this stuff I wasn't sure how difficult it would be to match up. I found the lady behind the counter helpful and she seemed to care what the thing came out looking like. I liked that, ALOT. Well, it took quite awhile longer than I'd have liked (I deducted a star) but I was astonished with the results. WOW. Just wow. My project is well on its way. Do not recommend. Incredibly rude, did a horrible job on my convertible top: cut too short over windows (said it wasn't their problem-I needed to replace the rubber gasket at dealer), seams not sewn together at the base of the top and broke one of the plastic lockdown pieces that holds the top to the car when closed. When I called about these problems I was told to bring the car back, when I did there wasn't an appointment on the books and it wasn't his f--ing problem anymore. read more

I had Craig's make two new Bimini tops for my boat and new zip-on and zip-off bug screens for the front Bimini. Now, we can enjoy evenings and nights on the boat without any bugs. The quality of the materials and the craftsmanship was absolutely great. The tops were much better than the ones that came new with the boat. We totally recommend Craig's. read more

This guy wanted to charge me $500 (about 10 hours labor) to staple to already made seat covers on to 2 boat seat backs!!! Are you kidding me? When I questioned why so much he stated he gets $55 dollars an hour...never explained why he thought it would take over an entire man day to put on two pre-made covers. BTW these were the backs ONLY and did not include the seat bottoms. Not trying to deny the guy a living and in all fairness by his assessment the covers MAY have needed some adjustment, but it didn't take me 10 hours to make the both covers from scratch. I took the seats to another shop and they put them on in just over two hours and look great!, just what I was after. His ad says, "No job to big or too small"...that may be true but from my experience the cost will remain very BIG regardless of the size of the job. Shop around and know what your work should cost before you let this guy take you to the hoop hard. There are plenty of other upholstery shops that will do a great job at a reasonable cost...I understand every business needs to made a profit to keep the doors open, just don't think anyone needs to charged what would have come to $250 per hour to run a stapler and a sewing machine...its not brain surgery after all. read more
