With one telelphone call, I had an appointment later the same week, unusual in most of my experience with doctors here in St. Louis and elsewhere! When I met the doctor, I had a list of 2 main items and several smaller matters regarding my feet. The doctor immediately examined my feet and assessed conditions as I have been experiencing them. He then carefully asked detailed questions and proceeded to explain symptoms and underlying causes along with treatment options. One problem could be addressed by surgery, but the doctor helped make clear risks and reasons for considering surgery only if some more serious problems arose which would warrant surgery to address them.This made good sense to me given my history with surgeries before this. The other main issue involved a treatment that could begin immediately. He spelled out how I could take care of it myself in two phases over a period of weeks for the first, then over a few more months. He described ongoing maintenance after the treatments that could help prevent a recurrence of the problem. I was very pleased with the outcome of the first appointment and with how the treatment is coming along now. By the end of the appointment, the doctor had address each of my listed concerns. One further thing that impressed me was that the doctor met me wearing a pair of sport shoes and, when I remarked about them and that I practically live in mine, he went on to explain comfort, support, and benefits he gets from them!
