Let me start from the beginning! The anesthesiologist, Chris he was phenomenal. Listen to me the entire time and really tried to help. Chris also went above and beyond after our Baby was born, taking tons of photos on my husband's phone for us since I was out of it to capture the moment. The day I was admitted, they told me my two-year-old could stay the night but then when I switched rooms I was told we were misinformed and no kids under 16 could stay. So we had completely changed last minute with an hour left of visitation which resulted in me having to stay overnight by myself without my husband helping therefore I only got two hours of sleep. Frustrating getting different pieces of information. Dietary was a nightmare they consistently messed up our worse, forgot food and would have to bring up another tray, which would take another 15 minutes at a time. We are waiting over 45 minutes for food. One of the nurses made a comment that's where they get their lowest ratings is from dietary. The nurse had eight students with her and offered if we wanted to get some rest. One of the students would watch our daughter, which was very kind. Apparently they don't have a nursery so that you can rest even after c sections there's not an option. They also don't offer pacifiers unless your baby is in a lot of distress. The nurse told me just to go home and grab one. The real amazing nurses were Becky, who was my second night nurse, Jackie, my second night nurse. The scrub nurse Alie and my other nurse Tori were incredible the entire time I cannot brag about them enough. They helped me watch her so I could sleep on my second night. They got my pain under control that you're seriously went above and beyond.

This was one of the best experiences I've had with a Doctor. Surgery was not pushed on me at all by them. They made sure I was educated so I could make the best decision. The staff here is super friendly and they usually pick up the phone super quickly. If I had to do it all over again the only thing I would change is deciding todo it sooner! I'd choose Dr. Chinnappan every time and I've recommended him to so many people. Not only is he incredible but the self pay price is actually affordable compared to a lot of other doctors. Cindy Blanner, the Patient Care Coordinator, has also been great in handling all questions about costs as well as providing and explaining the paperwork required. Everyone is very personable as well. Prior to the surgery my daughter had trouble breathing, slept with her mouth open and had an extremely weak chin. The surgery was miraculous! Post surgery, my daughter has no breathing issues, can sleep with her mouth closed and now has a beautiful profile with a chin perfectly proportioned to her face. In fact, her whole face seemed to properly align itself. She's a beautiful young woman. Most amazing was the post op recovery. She experienced very little pain! In fact, we only used about half the prescribed pain pills. Dr. Movahed was a stickler about the dos and don'ts of recovery - something extremely necessary with teenagers. I had to constantly remind my daughter that she just had major surgery and should take it easy with chewing hard foods. That's how remarkable this surgery was. The challenges of the surgery were traveling to St Louis and dealing with the insurance company. Dr. Movahed's staff was very helpful on both accounts. Everyone needs to know that orthognathic surgery can be very altering to the bone structure and if not done with that in mind, can leave someone hideously altered, and that is what happened to me. I am a female who came out looking like a dude so I question whether they even got my case confused with someone else's. I would say to demand to see a mold or model of your face with the suggested changes if you are getting fake joints. Also, if there are technical mistakes made in the surgery with adjusting the jaws, it will cause a drastically aging effect by causing a flat caved in look. That happened to me. And they won't tell you, but movement of the upper jaw causes nose changes that can be hideous. That happened to me. AND all surgery on the face causes fat loss so that too has a negative effect and an aging effect. Now to the health consequences- Paperwork I filled out at this appt clearly stated I had no problems breathing through my nose yet he did a procedure to treat such a problem which then resulted in serious and permanent health consequences. ALSO, the mis-positioning of the upper jaw in relation to the lower, has caused massive wear and tear on my teeth. The entire nightmare requires a cost prohibitive amount of money to repair and there is no repairing some of the health consequences.
