While I was fortunate to have an abundant supply, Katie was always incredibly supportive of whatever path I chose, including transitioning to formula if needed. Her care goes well beyond breastfeeding--she is there to support you with whatever you need. Whether it's teaching you how to swaddle, showing you how to safely bathe your baby, or simply holding your little one so you can take a well-deserved minute to breathe, she does it all. I would recommend Katie to anyone. She is a truly amazing lactation consultant!

I worked with lactation consultants with my…read moreprevious baby, so I thought I knew what to expect--but Katie is in a completely different league. The depth of her knowledge, experience, and professionalism is unlike anything I've encountered. She helped me through literally every postpartum breastfeeding challenge I had. She recognized that my baby had reflux and a cow's milk protein allergy before our pediatrician did. She helped me finally get recurrent mastitis under control and, more importantly, taught me how to prevent it from happening again. She guided me through a difficult oversupply, improved my baby's latch, and always had practical, thoughtful solutions. What really sets Katie apart is that everything she recommends is evidence-based. When we discussed different treatment options for mastitis, she even sent me research articles explaining the reasoning behind her recommendations. I never felt like I was just getting generic advice--she took the time to educate me, answer every question, and make sure I understood the reasoning behind everything. Knowing she trained at Cleveland Clinic made so much sense after working with her. Her level of expertise is truly exceptional. I can say without hesitation that working with Katie was one of the best investments I made after having my baby. She is worth every single penny, and I recommend her to every expecting or new mom I know. If you're wondering whether to book with her, do it. I truly don't think you'll find anyone better.

She is so patient and kind and I appreciate the amount the time she spent with me to make sure everything was okay with me and baby. My pediatrician noticed my baby had a tongue tie, so I immediately reached out to Aki to be seen. She was the one to recommend an ENT to me to better evaluate the tongue tie and decide whether we should do a tongue tie release or not. We ended up doing the release and Aki saw us for a few sessions after that to make sure everything was going well. Highly recommend!

She worked closely with me since day 1 when we brought the baby home. Having her visiting us at home made it much easier than going out somewhere else. I had issues with my milk supply and Aki patiently troubleshot and gave me a lot of great recommendations. My baby loved her presence and thrived. When the baby had tongue tie and latching issues, Aki recommended a great doctor who treated my baby well. If you are looking for a lactation consultant, I'd highly recommend Aki and get her to visit before giving birth. I made a few mistakes and wished that I've met her earlier. Overall, we couldn't thank her enough for her support. She is truly a gem.

With my firstborn, I lived in fear for the first month that she wasn't getting enough milk. Maggie helped me measure my current transfer, improve my technique, and understand the bigger picture of my baby's development. And my baby's weight corrected exactly as Maggie predicted! Every visit with Maggie was immensely helpful, regardless if there was a specific problem or a checkin, because she uniquely helped me one connect the dots between my baby's birth, status updates from pediatrician visits, and the round-the-clock grind of newborn feeding. Maggie was such an indispensable part of that experience that I reached out to her again during my second pregnancy. This time, she helped me troubleshoot my second baby's lower appetite and different positioning issues, and reassured me that breastfeeding was working even when my baby simply chose to eat less. Seven months postpartum, her read on the situation has proven completely accurate. Maggie combines deep expertise with a mother's empathy (something well intentioned pediatricians can't always offer!) plus a real understanding of what breastfeeding can and can't control. No one made me feel more supported in the hardest moments of postpartum recovery.

I stopped here and not only did they provide a cozy, private place for me to breastfeed with a helpful Breast Friend pillow, they also had changing tables and a scale for me to use, which brought me peace of mind. While she was here I was able to truly rest, a rarity in those early PP weeks. I would highly recommend Marilou to anyone!! I teared up when she left!

Jordan is young, eager, and incredibly attentive. Throughout every overnight shift, she remained awake and alert, always ready when our daughter needed her. Most importantly, she cared for our baby with the same patience and gentleness we would ourselves, which gave us tremendous peace of mind as new parents. Her reliability was equally impressive. She was consistently punctual, arriving between 10:58 and 11:00 p.m., and was always respectful and ready to help. Trusting someone with your newborn is no small thing. Jordan made that trust easy. I would confidently recommend both Jordan and Doulas by the Bay to my closest friends and family, and we'd happily welcome her back into our home. Thank you, Jordan, for taking such wonderful care of our little girl!

We texted "Auntie V," as she's now known in our house, right away to secure her before anyone else could! We were overjoyed when she said yes. Having Veronica back felt like welcoming family home. She stepped in on day one as if she'd never left: calm, confident, and full of love for our new baby girl. There was no learning curve. She already knew us, our routines, and how we like to track feedings and diapers, so we could skip the getting-to-know-you phase and simply lean on her from the very first night. A second baby brings its own challenges, and this time we had a toddler to care for too. Knowing our newborn was in Auntie V's hands overnight meant we could actually sleep, and that rest made all the difference. We had the energy and patience to be present for our older daughter during a big transition, and to enjoy those early weeks instead of just surviving them. What we love most about Veronica is her rare combination of deep expertise and genuine warmth. She's a wealth of knowledge on everything from soothing and sleep to feeding and development, and she shares it in a way that builds your confidence rather than making you feel dependent. Just as important, she truly cares. You can see it in how she holds the baby, how she checks in on the parents, and how she celebrates every little milestone with you. Veronica isn't just our night doula; she's part of our family. We'd recommend her to anyone without a second thought, and we feel incredibly lucky to have had her by our side twice.

Rhona was our overnight doula for both of our girls, and honestly I don't know how I would've gotten through those first months without her. With my first, she helped me figure out breastfeeding, kept me going on the hard nights, and taught me how to pump so I could actually get some sleep. With our second we had jaundice and an unplanned trip back to the hospital and Rhona was such a calm, steady presence for me while I got through it. Rhona is just so good at what she does, and clearly cares a lot about the families she works with. Julie was equally wonderful during the day. She's sincere, honest, and has this calming way about her. She normalized so much of what I was feeling and hyped me up until I actually felt ready to handle life with two kids. Genuinely fun to have around too, even on the rough days. We're so grateful for both of them and would recommend them without hesitation.

Let me just start by saying that Denise is simply amazing!…read more I came to the root and the branch because I had low energy, felt tired all the time, and I had recently lost the taste (or rather had a constant metallic taste in my mouth). Because my regular MD wanted to send me to a bunch of different specialists to find out what this was, I decided to take the more holistic route. And I am glad I did. First, Denise is very thorough in her intake. She really took the time to ask questions, and look at every detail of my health. After her detective work done, she explained what was going on with my body from an eastern medicine perspective. It made complete sense to me. Acupuncture, along with nutrition changes and herbs worked - my sense of taste is back! Being at the Root and the Branch is always a relaxing experience, and you are treating as a whole, which care and compassion. Denise is always positive, encouraging and such a positive spirit - we all need a Denise in our life :) She is a very gifted holistic practitioner. Thank you!
