A couple of months ago out of nowhere, I was in lot of pain on one of my arms and elbow. I called the nurse to see Urgent Care. After much diagnosis at the hospital, the doctors thought I had golfers elbow. I wouldn't even be mad if I actually played golf. Alas, I just do office work, mainly on my laptop and phone. They think it's repetitive stress. I also think it was inflammation because the affected area was very hot to the touch. Not much I can do except rest and don't use my arm too much. Yet I was in excruciating pain. Good thing I can work from home on some days, so I can lie down intermittently. On the days that I was at the office, I was using one arm and walking a bit lopsided due to the pain. Also I couldn't sit for too long, so I was getting up and changing my positions a lot. I started scheduling all types of appointments. Mainly massages and acupuncture hoping they will help. I already have an acupuncturist I'm seeing for other things, but her appointment hours are hard to schedule last minute, so after seeing all the great reviews on Yelp, I decided to try Johnson's. So glad I did! My first appointment I was in so much pain I could barely sign new patient paperwork let alone sit straight in their lovely waiting room, but each session after I was getting better. What I love about my sessions are that after my acupuncture treatments, they immediately do cupping on my back and affected arm. No massage services offered here, but I have since also gone to a few different TCM/deep tissue massage places for pain. Dr. Jun is very nice and knowledgeable. Staff are polite and efficient. I was amazed that Dr. Karen was able to cure my longstanding neck and back pain (old whiplash injury) using electroacupuncture (a combination of acupuncture and electrical stimulation). I've been visiting Johnson Acupuncture for over 6 months now after a car accident that left me with muscle pain in my neck, shoulders, and lower back. I also had trouble sleeping for a while, but after consistent treatments here, my sleep has improved significantly and I even noticed that a previous case of alopecia is getting better too. I have struggled with perioral dermatitis for almost six years and have tried a variety of Dermatologist-prescribed medications that unfortunately only aggravated the condition. I've visited several acupuncture practitioners in the past, so I'm familiar with the treatments. After experiencing a psych injury from stress, I developed severe memory problems and persistent headaches in one area of my head that didn't improve for two years. An ER nurse at Eden Hospital recommended Dr. Connie after I went in with a massive migraine--she mentioned she'd had great results with Dr. Connie herself. I decided to make the drive from the East Bay to the Avenues, and it was absolutely worth it! I began noticing major improvements after just three sessions, and by the fifth or sixth session, I was truly impressed by the results. Dr. Jun is incredible! I had a stubborn, sensitive knot and extreme tightness in my hip a year after surgery. Aging is NOT fun, until I met Jun. I am a 46 year old female and the wrinkles on my forehead, between my eyebrows and smile lines started to deepen. My jawline and skin started drooping. Ugh! My mom and I have been seeing Dr. Karen You for about a month now. Mom is getting treated for shingles through accupuncture and cupping and herbs. I've been coming for about a year and I love seeing Dr. Connie every week because she really good at fixing so many of my ailments. She always checks in with me to see which body parts need the most attention and she helps me make a plan that reduces the stress on my body and mind. I get a bit scared with those tiny needles but she has ways to distract me and feel less of the funny sensation when she gets those important points. Dr. Connie helps me every week to fix my old injuries and work on the new ones. I hike and stay very active so I over use my muscles. Especially as a chef, I am on my feet for 8 hours and I walk 3.6 miles to and from work. Dr. Connie was able to immediately relieve my forearm and tennis elbow pain with her fantastic skills. I am so grateful to my friend for introducing this practice to me and the staff are always so kind to greet me and keep me on a great schedule to recovery. They have a few doctors working at the practice and it's worth trying everyone to see which doctor is the right fit for you.
