Here is a list of reasons why NOT to choose Craig Curtis to do your taxes: 1. Absolutely NO communication whatsoever after you leave his presence. We tried so many times to call and ask questions and get ahold of Craig or his office any they dodge every single call, text, voicemail and email. 2. He lost our tax documents. After talking about our places of work and giving him our W4 tax papers he lost these and didn't file them in our 2018 filing. Fast forward a year later the IRS sends a bill for almost $2000 since he lost multiple W4's and failed to file correctly. 3. We filed our business as well with Craig before the tax deadline and he didn't turn it in on time. The IRS sent us a bill for $800+ for late charges. We tried contacting the office and Craig and they would not answer. We had to contact the IRS and after pleading with them we got a one time "get out of jail free card" that they said we would not be issued for 10 years (meaning you only get one of those every 10 years.). We called and left his office a message about what happened and how they didn't file on time and they never got back with us. 4. After looking over his notes from our last years return, we found that our refund was off by $50. We called him a week after we had received our incorrect refund and he wouldn't answer or call back. 5. He took weeks to call back after originally meeting with him to tell us if we owed or were getting a refund. 6. He was super judgey about where we worked and if we made enough money or if we were going to do so the next year. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS GUY! If I could give 0 stars I would. Craig has NOT been helpful whatsoever in doing our taxes. We needed his help because we had an LLC for a few years and went with him because of a friend's recommendation. In the meeting you have with him at first he's nice, friendly and personable. HOWEVER once you leave that dinky house he calls a business/office you will never hear back from him ever again. We have gotten multiple letters from the IRS that our teaches were filed incorrectly and despite emails, texts and phone calls we can never get a hold of him. When he DOES magically decide to answer he says he'll clear it up only to get MORE letters in the mail from IRS saying that something else is wrong. He has cost us THOUSANDS in faulty payments, late fees and incorrect filings with the IRS. AVOID THIS BUSINESS LIKE THE PLAGUE! read more

RUDE, ARROGANT, DISRESPECTFUL, DEMEANING over a simple mistake and follow-up. My wife's family has known Craig for years, so we decided to give him a try this year. At first, we were impressed that he was able to find several deductions we didn't even know existed. Although he didn't really seem super knowledgeable about all the current laws and such, we overlooked that when things fell into place and it turned out he was getting us a refund. However, an IRS glitch caused our E-file return to be rejected. That's when the trouble started -- Craig Curtis partner sent in our paper return without ever asking for our signatures and without our W-2s. This ended up costing us TWO FULL MONTHS on getting our refund, and my wife had to spend HOURS on the phone with the IRS. We sent them a message inquiring about it, and we got no response. Another message -- no response. Finally my wife called to see what was going on at Craig's office. After being treated VERY rudely by the receptionist, she finally got Craig on the line. And he was EXTREMELY rude to her, demeaning and disrespectful, basically treated her like an idiot. (My wife is the smartest person I know.) Sure, we wouldn't mind a discount, but mostly we just wanted to know what happened. He was horribly arrogant, repeatedly asking her "What percentage of this is our fault?" I will NEVER return to this so-called CPA again, and I'd advise everyone to STAY AWAY. read more

I've had almost the same experience that Brian L has had with the office of craig curtis. I could have written that review. In person Craig has been fine and knowledgeable. But if something goes wrong, it is impossible to get an answer as to what happened and what needs to be done. I've received notices from the tax commission that the tax return was NOT filed and that there is an Intent to Lien. This is when I would really appreciate a call back. I will call his office and leave a message and get zero response. I will call again after a couple of days. Still no answer, so I will leave another message to call me about the notice. And still there's no call back. When I have called again and finally been able to speak with someone, it has always been his wife who somehow manages to never fail in being rude for no apparent reason. She almost immediately gets an attitude as if instead of my asking that Craig please call me about the notice, as if I've just asked a teenager to clean the bathroom and she wants to come up with excuses for why that can't happen. Craig came highly recommended by friends of ours when we were looking for an accountant to help us set up our LLC. As first time business owners, we needed all the help we could get. Two separate times he had to redo it because he couldn't get the name right, he messed up my personal taxes as well as my daughters but we were able to look passed that. After paying a lot of money to Craig for his services we opened up for business believing everything was on the up and up. Soon after that Craig stopped answering my husbands phone calls and every time he would try to stop by the office, the doors would be locked even though there would be cars in the parking lot. My husband left multiple messages for him never receiving a single call back. Recently we had to go to Logan city to switch our business license over to open a store and in doing so we needed to provide our sales tax number. That is when we learned that our business has never had a sales tax number registered. Now we are having to start this process all over from the start. We learned we are also not the only business he has done this to because the employee at Logan City asked us if we knew how to get in touch with Craig because they have 2 other business owners right now that he has taken money from and never followed through with what he was paid to do. He will not answer any phone calls, and is also hiding from them. This is extremely frustrating. I've worked in customer service my entire working life. I understand things happen out of our control. I have never left a bad review for anyone and leaving one now is the last thing I want to be doing. But, we gave this company a lot of money for a job and that job was never done. The very least he could do is come out of hiding and talk to us and the other 2 business owners he has screwed over (that's only the 2 I know about) I can't imagine someone staying in business very long when this is how they do business read more

Very easy tax experience. Craig is extremely knowledgeable and took the time to make sure I understood what he did. I had filed with an online tax software before submitting my information to Craig so that I could compare the returns. I received an extra thousand dollars I wasn't expecting by the time Craig was done. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Very dissatisfied with the service received from Craig Curtis CPA & his affiliated accounting services companies. We went there for the one stop shop of payroll, CPA, and taxes. Payroll seemed to go fine, nothing horrible to report, but definitely nothing great either. Then it came time to file taxes. First, the promised dates for items to be completed by them was RARELY, if ever, met. Second, huge error on our tax return that reduced our money to be rec'd by over $1,000. Yes, they fixed and amended for free, but if I hadn't found the error I would have lost that money. Lastly, two years after filing I rec'd letters from the IRS regarding the tax return & payroll for the period they worked on. I was told by Craig Curtis when going with him that if we ever got letters regarding that time period from the IRS they would respond and deal with the IRS. Well, I sent copies of the IRS letters to them in July and here it is December and they still have not formulated a response to the IRS letters. I have called over a dozen times, but all I get is more assurances that he will look at it next week and then they will call me. In summary, if you want good customer service from a CPA your best bet is to look somewhere else!!! Update - Jan 2013 - finally I got some response. They said that since they didn't think I would be welcome to paying for the response letter so they decided to put it on a back burner. WOW!! It took them six months to say that!!!
