No more than the $500 I pay Function Health annually to monitor 160+ biomarkers, because my PCP only tests the basics and then tries to sell me statins for my "high cholesterol". For the same $500 I'm getting a full body scan every two years, since my plan is to live well past 100 and not in a hospital with a bedpan. At 65 I've had many friends die who found out way too late they had an issue, or suffered all sorts of painful procedures that could have been easily fixed while a tumor was still benign.

And that's just in the 2.5 hours I was there! I understand imaging places are understaffed but to already be running a full hour late at 10 am is terrible planning. Two women leaving between two imaging sessions because they couldn't be any later to work is terrible health care administration. I have to come back in 6 months and I'm going to try and find a location that isn't run this poorly. Wish me luck!

I took paperwork and filled it out outside, turned back in quickly and went back outside. Guy at front desk half asleep with earbuds in just checking people in and handing out paperwork. Had to go inside several times to check to see if my name was called because it was 20 min after my appt and I was still standing outside. Back in the imaging area the atmosphere felt cleaner. The Tech was super nice and quick and we a fun conversation during my exam. She gets a ***** rating, but the facility does not.

That excellence continues to be present here, both in the office staff and the technologist that did the MRI. Sady (Sadie?) was wonderful on going through my paperwork and making sure everything was correct. She made me feel very comfortable and welcome. The Technologist was careful to make me as comfortable as possible, and explained what was going to happen, before and during the procedure. Excellent care! I had to reschedule for the Palm Harbor location a week later. When I arrived, the front desk insisted I had the wrong date and time--until I showed them their own confirmation text and they suddenly realized they had double-booked the machine. No apology. After the test they said the CD with my images would take 3-5 minutes. I waited over 15 minutes only to be told the employee went to lunch and probably forgot. Three days later my sister tried to pick it up (her name was already left there) and the staff refused to listen--even though the CD was literally sitting at the desk with her name on it. Completely disorganized and terrible customer service. I can only hope the technicians performing the scans are more competent than the front desk staff. The irony is that they have a memo on the front desk window reminding patients to be respectful because it's a healthcare facility--maybe the staff should read it too.

Apparently if they send records to the doctor who ordered the images that is considered your copy and it's your responsibility to get it from your doctor. I have never heard of this before. They will try to charge you $25 for any additional copies. Office Experience was aggressive and rude when I asked for my own copy. They were not happy when I asked for documentatuon in writing of their $25 policy that I filled out for patient services for the images. They said they didn't need to have it writing because it's their policy. They said it would take "awhile" for them to duplicate my records. Even behind their glass partition they were giggling , talking about the super bowl and had me wait for over a half hour before receiving my own records.

My doctor originally sent the order to BayCare, but the soonest appointment they had was a month away... at 5:45 a.m. on a Sunday. Absolutely not. So I started calling around and Gulf Coast MRI got me in the very next day. Immediate win. From the moment I walked in, the ladies in the office were AMAZING. This was my first MRI ever -- and I ended up needing two -- and they walked me through everything step by step. They were so kind, so patient, and totally held my hand through the whole process. They didn't take my insurance insurance (but they do take some), but it was $300 per body part, and honestly, between my HSA and what I would've paid toward my deductible anyway, it probably cost me the same (or less). For next-day service? Worth. Every. Penny. The machine is loud (no surprise there), but they let me jam to 80s music the whole time, which made it way less intimidating and honestly kind of a vibe. I walked out with two CDs in hand and they let me know my doctor would have the radiology report within a few business days. Efficient, friendly, professional, and just overall great humans.
