This was a good time. Went for work for team building. We had 12 booths downstairs. There are stars and two different axes you can throw. They offer different games for scoring. There's a pool table up stairs. They offer breed and wine, no hard liquor but when you're throwing an axe, makes sense. We were there 2 hours. This is a fun way to spend some time on a Sunday afternoon! They were offering free Sunday mom throwing in July only. Parking is really easy, they are located next to Tsunami restaurant. Social distancing and mask wearing was in effect. I made reservations due to this being a popular thing to do in the area. Make sure you pay attention to which location you sign up for, I signed up for Columbia location, but went to Lexington by accident. The staff were very accommodating, and let the other store know that I was on my way to Columbia. Great customer service from start to finish! Inside has open space bays with safety fences on the sides. Each booth in use was at least 6ft apart from another group. We signed a waiver and one of the staff members gave all the deets about Axe throwing. Its takes a bit to get your rhythm when you start. Once you put a little force behind the throwing, you wont have any issues. They do have a bar, and clean bathrooms. For two people one hour is enough, if you bring a group you will need at least two hrs. I think this is a great way to spend some time with family, friends or co workers. What a fun experience this was! My friend and I were hanging out in the area and decided to stop in on a whim. When we got there it was pretty crowded so we thought we would have to come back. Jake greeted us and told us it would be wait and got us set up shortly after arriving. Even though he was the only one working on a busy Sunday afternoon, his instructions were very thorough and he was super friendly. Between two people an hour is plenty of time. By the end we were talking about how tired our arms were. They also offer drinks and there is a bar in the same building so time goes by pretty quickly. The location is great and there is plenty of room for a group of friends to gather. I would definitely come back in the future. read more

Went this weekend and wasn't impressed with the facilitation of the staff. Three minute overview and on your own. I've been to other axe throwing places that have had instructors coaching, coordinating games with the group. The staffs involvement was minimal and they stood/sat by the bar area. Not sure why when you pay at check-in they ask about tipping. I tipped 20% prior under the assumption they'd be involved. On a positive note, the facility was clean. Our group of five decided that our experience wasn't worth the $20/PP for 60-minutes, and we should not have tipped. One and done from the (5) of us. read more

Been wanting to come here for a while. Last night a few of us got together and decided we needed a breather. This place has plenty of parking, and next to a sushi restaurant., and a bar on the other side. The first time we came it was booked up but second time is a charm. Came here last night after pizza and had a blast. The staff was great! They were really accommodating and educational, teaching us the styles of throwing and the do's and donts. Two handed one handed, it's just a great time all together. Since we came a little late after pizza they let us stay a bit longer. This a wonderfully novel idea for Columbia and a fun way to spend a night out. I learned a few things from my first trip. 1. Definitely go with a group of people. This probably isn't a date place. A big group is the way to go so you can take turns and cheer each other on. 2. It's kinda pricey. We each paid for 2 hours and it was a chunk o' change. This leads me to... 3. You only need to do this for about an hour before it gets a bit monotonous. Unless you are a huge lover of axe throwing then I'd stick to an hour. 4. They ask you to tip the person at the stall/instructor when you pay for your time. We did tip but I'm not sure what we tipped for. The gentleman helping us was there for maybe 3 minutes at the beginning of our two hours to give us the low down and start our timers. Then he disappeared. I think he popped back by once to see how we were doing and then at the end to shut off our timers. So... tipping is up to you. 5. They do have a bar where you can purchase drinks but you go get those yourself. 6. There are 2 size axes. The bigger one was easier to throw. 7. Once I got the hang of it and landed a few bullseyes I got a bit bored. Overall it's fun for an after dinner event for an hour or so. Cost wise it's probably a tad more pricey than a movie for 2 with popcorn and drinks. I'm glad to have an new alternative for a good time in Columbia. read more

Paid a lot, got a little. For the price, I expected a lot better customer service. After we checked in, signed a waiver, and had a 5 minute safety and throwing talk, we barely saw a staff member again. The people next to us were throwing two axes at once as well as throwing from in front of and behind the safe throwing zone (all of which we were cautioned not to do), but there was no one around to see (or to report it to). The people next to us also had multiple boards come off and spent a good ten minutes trying to find a staff member to replace them each time. After the third time, they just kept throwing without the board rather than waste time trying to find someone. Our board wasn't in good shape before we started, and no one ever came to replace any boards even when a staff member did come by to replace the boards of the people next to us. We booked a 2-hour slot, but after an hour a staff member came up to us and said, "you having fun? Good. Your time is up." When I informed him that we'd paid for two hours, he just said "Oh, I see what happened, we automatically set the timers for 1 hour." He didn't go and check our reservation or apologize for trying to cheat us on time. He didn't even check the condition of our board (which had one plank barely hanging on). So, lesson learned--pay for one hour and if anyone comes up to you just claim you paid for 2. Save yourself some money. I also thought there would be wait staff, but no one ever came up to ask if we wanted anything to drink or cleared away our empties or those of the people around us. Pay for throwing time, and spend it in line at the bar instead. What a waste. The axe throwing itself was fun, but definitely not worth the money given all the other factors. read more

A fun Saturday night activity. We looked online to book a spot but it stated it was sold out. We decided to walk in, just "in case." We were told at 7pm that we could throw at 8:30pm. That worked perfectly for us! Quincy was great at reviewing safety rules and showing us how to throw. Jeff at the bar was great too! I had mentioned to the workers about the online saying it was sold out (we were upstairs and we were the only people there). Apparently they shut off online reservations at a certain point during the day, which makes it appear fully booked. A tad deceiving. I'm glad we walked in. We LOVED it! I planned a birthday party for my husband, invited a group of friends and booked a reservation. We were conveniently next to the bar, which was of course awesome. You get a bar table and chairs, lanes, instructions, axes and a genuinely amazing time. We were actually bummed when our time was up but I was hesitant to book 2 hours based on someone else's review . It's like going bowling but 1000x better. This was my first experience doing anything like this. This was a double date with one our dear friends. From the first moment walking in to leaving we felt very welcomed. I will say the booking experience was a bit confusing but once we got there the cashier was able to answer our questions and still let all 4 of us use the lane. We signed our waivers and an instructor came to show us to our lanes where he explained how to throw safely and efficiently. They also keep time for you, I'm sure we may have missed that part at some point during the presentation but it fine we still had a blast and would definitely go again for another date night! read more

My fiancé and I came to your place of business this past Saturday at 5:40pm for our reservation at 6pm. Your staff stared at us for 40minutes as we waited to start our reservation. We didn't want to say anything because this was our first experience at your place of business so we waited patiently as we were instructed. We were then placed in a lane at around 6:20 and given instructions for about 5 minutes and eventually started throwing at 6:30pm. We were having a great time and immediately at 7pm we were then told that our time was up. I was talking to the guy that told us this and I told him we hadn't actually even gotten in our lane until 6:20ish and he said he would talk to his manager. I was absolutely ok with that until one of your employees walked over and told us we needed to remove ourselves from the lane and that our reservation was for 6pm but suggested that we didn't show up until 6:20. He was up front abrasive about the whole situation. I asked him if he didn't mind us staying a little over because we were 20 minutes early. He angrily scoffed said "No, you need to remove yourselves from the lane". My fiancé and I were having a great date night until this one individual in your staff decided to approach us with frustration. As I stated, we had no problem with the waiting nor the sincerity in trying to figure out a solution for us to get the most out of our experience but this staff member certainly didn't do any of that. He was abrasive and it essentially ruined what was a really great night. I find it hard to believe my fiancé nor I will come back. read more

Yalllllllllll. Please don't get my positive review confused with me having been good at this-- I was awful. Like, record-breaking bad. I'm just putting that up front. I am so thrilled to have this in Columbia. I walk past this business each morning on the way to the SC's public gym (not Drew Wellness: the statehouse steps!), and I have been eagerly anticipating a visit. I went for the first time on Sunday. We had a lane reserved for 5:30 PM. We were told to arrive a bit early, five or so minutes. My friend who reserved the lane arrived around 5:15 to be on the safe side. Long story short, we weren't on a lane until 5:50. (Finally, my lack of punctuality came in handy, as I only had to wait fifteen minutes opposed to thirty five!) It seemed like the system for reservations/ the way people are queued was a bit of a mess. We got the same explanation for why we didn't get on our lane when promised three or four times. We weren't mad, but did make note of it. They have us some free glasses, which was nice, though a set of two glasses was a bit of a strange compensation for four separate people (each spending $18/hr, not including drinks). After this, though, our evening was smooth sailing. The person who 'trained' us was peppy and kind, humorous and encouraging. This person, however, lacked skill, which was somewhat disappointing. Clearly, I didn't excel at the sport of axe-throwing, but I was hoping to have a few more pointers on how ~exactly~ to go about throwing, not just an understanding of the rules. Ultimately, there were a few bumps in the road, which is to be expected upon first opening, but I will likely come back very soon, and I look forward to becoming the axe-throwing champion which I am destined to be. read more

My Daughter suggested we do this for a Father, Daughter date (my Wife and I are up visiting Her and her Husband and Grandson from Florida). The staff was very friendly and the instructor was very patient. I thought the layout was well thought out and very safe (with individual, completely separated throwing lanes for each party).
