We came in here last night for dinner and had a great experience. I might be remembering our servers name wrong but I feel like it was Lauren. I forgot to keep the ticket to help me remember this, but our server was so sweet and on top of it! The food was great, came out quick and the restaurant was really clean! The cashier at check out was really nice too, even though there appeared to be an issue with another customer and that customer was being way out of line and disrespectful from what I observed, she kept her composure and handled it very nicely as well as the other employee who came to help her deal with the issue. We stopped by Cracker Barrel and had the absolute best time, mostly thanks to our amazing waitress, Lacey! She was incredibly kind, attentive, and made sure our drinks were never empty and the biscuits kept coming out hot and fresh. Even though the restaurant was busy, Lacey had a huge smile on her face the whole time and made us feel right at home. The food was classic comfort food perfection--the chicken fried steak and hashbrown casserole were incredible. If you visit this location, definitely ask to sit in Lacey's section. The first meal back at CB since they jumped off the rails corporately and my wife and I had a good experience. Brittany F was friendly and helpful while serving us and immediately rectified the problem with my wife's meal. I had the chicken and dumplings and they were very good. Usually, at this Cracker Barrel location you are looking at a 1-2 hour DINING experience (re: slow service). Happy to report that this was not the case this morning. Good food, but Service? This location is good for the most part. About half the time you'll have a bad experience where you wait forever. It's really is 50/50 I eat here a lot still though but it just depends. Servers are pretty good, but just know you're going to wait minimum of an hour, with waiting forever taking 2 hours of your time. Yeah So the fried chicken was bad too much batter and you couldn't taste the seasoning. The chicken tenders weren't good and I thought they would be small so now I have four chicken tenders and I don't know what to do with them. The fries were okay and the macaroni tasted like watered down cheese. The greens were supposed to taste fresh but they tasted canned. Hamburger steak was over cooked (no wonder it took them so long to make). The sprite didn't have to much lemon so that's good (I don't like too much lemon). Over charged our ticket $10.00and the couple we were with $12.00. We took a menu and supported our charge errors and the manager said the charges were correct. I got 2 hairs off the bottom of my plate but did not alert anyone because it would mess up the rest of the table. Our waitress was Dana B or Abbie. In the middle part of December, my wife and wanted to have a crackle barrel breakfast. I ordered biscuits and link sausage. She got biscuits. We both had soft drinks. I remember what it used to be like. It had a great breakfast With Uncle Hershel's breakfast. These biscuits tasted like the kind you get in the frozen section and you microwave the food. Despite the rising numbers of the Delta variant in Covid masks were not enforced and NOT worn. No additional safety precautions whatsoever. Service was extremely slow. Don't expect to get a decent sized portion of anything in your to go orders anymore. Order dumplings and get a couple with the rest being broth. Also won't give you jelly for biscuits anymore even when you ask politely. I am just praying that they realize that they made a mistake when they switched all the fried chicken batter over to that awful over seasoned mix that they use to only put on the Sunday special chicken. Boy where do I start traveling from Oregon through going to the East Coast I decided to stop for a late lunch at this place in the parking lot were these small tiny puppies some people were swerving to not have them and some people were deliberately trying to hit them my heart just sank I went in the store to talk to the manager to let her know and she was fully aware that they were out there she said she didn't appreciate that I didn't feel that she cared about them seeing that they've been out there for about a month now I questioned her and asked her why haven't you called animal control or why haven't you taken them to somewhere safe her response was when we put a post up on Facebook I was so angry I called the local Police Department of Jasper and they told me they're not excepting any more animals so I profusely kept calling repetitively the animal shelter and finally got a hold of a girl she basically was telling me the same thing and I asked her do you not care about animals then why are you in your profession if you're an animal shelter isn't it your job to protect these animals I think once that I said that she realized and said that they would contact the local sheriff and have them come and pick up the puppies I never did get my food I walked out I will not support any Cracker Barrel after that experience and trust me come tomorrow morning Monday I will be making phone calls to corporate Cracker Barrel it doesn't matter if they don't do anything at least I feel that my voice is heard, if you ask why I didn't take the puppies with me it's because my car is completely packed I have nowhere to put them nowhere but outside of a truck and I have no cage to put them in otherwise I would've took them in a heartbeat it's very upsetting when animals they don't asked to be brought in the world through long are hungry it's our job to make sure that they're taken care of favor next time you see your animal like that don't give up keep calling and calling until you get someone to listen because our voices are for those dogs cats birds etc. I guess she rather find an easier to scrape up a dead puppy then to make a five minute phone call or a 10 minute trip to an animal shelter please people when you see animals like those don't just leave him stay there I text somebody help the poor animal it's not fair to them read more

This review is solely based on the food. I ordered fried chicken tinders. Thought it would be nice big chicken fingers freshly made and dipped in butter milk. Wrong. It was frozen lunch room chicken fingers. Had a side of collared greens and they had too much spices and meat to cover up the fact that they were canned or frozen. The green beans were blah and so were the basic fries. This food does not represent southern comfort. We visited on a long road trip in a very rural area! Honestly seeing Cracker Barrel felt like salvation after driving aimlessly with nowhere to stop and eat! I had the sirloin with house salad and corn! I was pretty pleased with my meal except the corn had all the freshness taken out of it! I imagine it had been cooked to long! The steak was cooked as ordered and was well seasoned. My boyfriend had the Apple Cider Chicken which was on the lighter fare menu but I would definitely say as for an extra veggie because I felt this portion was very small. Biscuits were great!
