This is a scam. I logged into my Secretary of State account and renewed our filing for free!

SCAM COMPANY. Do not pay the fee they are requesting! Pretending to be a government entity with a legitimate looking form and legal jargon.

What a disgrace!!! Your a pathetic excuse for a company. Scamming people to file Biennials for $100 when you can file online for $9.00 go here for $9.00 https://www.dos.ny.gov/corps/bus_llc_faq_statements.asp This company calls themselves financial advising please what a joke! read more

Shame on them! I called to see who Cps filings are and why they were requesting $100 from me. Just know all of the previous reviews are true and I hope no one falls for this scam. The person who answered the phone sounded very annoyed that I had questions. I asked her specifically about step number 4 and she couldnt even ans it. When I hung up I googled them specifically because she said they did not have a website which was a red flag and Google showed me these reviews. The true fee to pay to file biannually is only $9 which is what I found out from other posted. Definitely BEWARE!!! read more

It's a NINE DOLLAR FEE you can pay online through New York State. This company is running a HUGE scam, attempting to look like an official state document and coming from Albany. They charge ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS which covers "state fee plus CPS filing fee" - their filing fee is NINETY ONE DOLLARS. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. ALWAYS VERIFY DIRECTLY WITH NYS!!! read more

It is better to charge a fee separately to do the job or extra leg work for the businesses. Folks who don't have time will happily pay for it. The way they send the SOI instruction form looks like someone is scamming. read more

They have another name C.P.S. (without "filing services") and the new address in Sacrament, CA which is the same city of California Secretary of State so I could not recognise it until I saw asking for $120 check!! (They increased the charge lol! ) Once I teared and threw it in garbage box but decided to post for other people. read more

Don't due it. The official document provided by the CA Secretary of State costs only $20 to file, and can be obtained online or will be mailed to you. C.P.S form looks strikingly similar to the Official document. This service sends an official looking form leading you to believe it is a necessary government document sent by the State of California. At the very bottom just after STEP 7 you will see the last sentence reads "... I understand that CPS is not a government agency..." The cost for their service is $120. read more

Glad I looked it up! Yes a scam for something you can do yourself for much less! Shame on these people, making their paper work look official enough and if one does not read carefully it can be mistaken for a state government requirement Dont be fooled read more

Received a letter in the mail regarding the business I manage. Due to the misleading information and gut instincts, I decided to Google search this company before passing the documents to our accountant. I'm sure glad I did, this company is an absolute SCAM! They are advertising some nonsense, trying to charge a fee of $120 for something you can obtain from the GOV for a fraction of the cost. SHRED UP THE LETTER & WAIT UNTIL THE ACTUAL GOVERNMENT SENDS YOU A NOTICE. DO NOT WRITE THEM A CHECK. read more

Scammers! Read all reviews. Looks very official but fake! Asking for $120 when cost is $20 for Statement of Information.

Absolute scam. They send a document that seems very formal and almost as if its from the government. They are trying to sucker you in to paying a fee that you would normally pay as a business with an accountant or attorney. Hopefully enough people can report this to the proper authorities to shut it down. read more

CPS is a SCAM! My radar went up when I saw a few things: 1. The date my annual report was due = 2021. 2. My business is set up in NJ & they wanted $160 to help me with my annual report NOW? I got a notice from CPS which looks exactly like it was a communication from a government agency. In the end, there is a small declaration stating that CPS is not a government agency. Don't waste your time with CPS. read more

ZERO STARS - SCAM If there was a choice for 0 stars that's what CPS deserves. They have access to our company public information via Secretary of State and every year they hit us with a $120 bill as if we solicited their services. It's a dishonest and disingenuous way of going after small business. It cost us $20 to file directly with the Secretary of State and we'll continue to do that no thanks to CPS. They should by shut down for their sleepy practices!! read more

This is a scam. They also go by the name of W.C.S. and have an address at 2755 Commercial St. in Salem, OR. This is a UPS mailbox. They say on the paperwork that they are not a government agency and that this is an optional service, but it's not easy to find, especially when you're nervous about getting an official looking piece of paperwork with a very tight deadline. read more

Scam where they try to charge you $120 for something you can file directly with state for $20.

You don't need to pay CPS $100 to file this form. If you have any doubts, just go directly to the CA site https://idm.sos.ca.gov/signin/register to register for an account at the state if you have not already done so. The site also tells you when your next filing is due. Mine is due 7 months from the date CPS said in their "demand" letter. I just filed a mid-term filing at the state site to be sure things were up to date and there was no fee. read more

Complete scam. You can file on-line for $9. Scam. Take a look at the 7/18/22 review posting from Mike I and ask yourself if it is more likely a genuine review of someone that prefers paying 100's more for a simple service or if it is the work of a scam company writing their own reviews. read more

Be aware!!! Ditto the comments by the previous Yelp reviewer Jamie L. about "CPS Filing Services." In official looking documents I received today, CPS proposes to file a Statement of Information for an LLC I manage for a fee of $120. Nowhere does the document reveal that the actual filing fee for an annual Statement of Information is $20, or that the document can be filed very easily online in only minutes. It does make reference, though, to penalties for late filing. Though the official looking document makes disclaimers, it seems intended to prey on the uninformed or unsophisticated. The address of the business appears from Google Earth to be a mailbox inside a UPS Store in Sacramento. read more

This is a SCAM made to look like a Annual filing report with bar codes and Hawaii statue code. They want you to write a check for $145.00 to a priviate entity, C.P.S., who will "assist for a fee in the filing of your annual report." This is a scam! Don't fall for this. They are trying to bill you out of $160 to file an annual report. Looks like from the reviews that people are getting different mailing addresses to send it back to depending on the state they live in. Read the fine print "CPS is not a government agency and does not have a contract any governmental agency to provide this service". FAKE FAKE FAKE! read more

It's not a scam... it's just capitalism at it's very finest. The company doesn't appear to be registered with any secretary of state in any state... and it's addresses are all PO boxes. In their defense, at least they answer the phone - though the person who answered couldn't tell me what CPS stands for. LOL. "Just letters" she told me. Ummm... OK. Well, they are trying to gauge unsuspecting business owners for funds ranging from $100-$275 for filings ranging from $9-$35 with your Secretary of State. Do not be fooled - you don't need them to file for you. Check locally for a legit filing service if you need help. I'd personally like to thank them for reminding my that my filing is due. I'll save their notice for my immediate reference - but I ain't paying them to do anything for me. #Scandalous read more
