I initally asked how much he charged and how long he thought it would take to prepare my business and personal taxes. I never got an answer to my question - which should have been my first clue. I received the invoice in the mail, for almost $900. That amount can cripple a small business. The invoice didn't specify or have a breakdown of why it was so much. When I called the office for clarification, I was told the tax prep took almost 5 hours. 2 hours alone to input previous years taxes into "the system." When I asked what "the system" was, I was only told their internal system. The past years filings from previous accountants took 1-2 hours. For a firm this size, I don't see how a simple return can take 5 hours.

For a small business (convenient store) which consists of 3-7 employees. Our new bookkeeper charges us $50 per month up to 15 employees. Also Eagle Accounting charged us $425 per/month for recording our purchases/ expenses/ invoices. Anyone who has used quick books and has done that kind of work, understands that is an outlandish amount to charge a small business such as my grandparents. The job takes approximately 30min to 1hr. max to record and log in a month's worth of invoices. In some instances like January and February when business is the slowest of the year and our purchases are minimal, it takes me 20-25min. (That is myself doing the work a novice with Quick books and barely going on my 2nd year of using Quick Books. 20-30 minutes of work equals= $425 bill! Almost $5,000 per/year. Those are just 2 of numerous examples where Eagle accounting has taken advantage of my elderly grandparents', who are 76 and 78 years of age. My Grandpa is a veteran who fought in the Vietnam war and my grandma began working in the fields alongside her mother at the young age of 7. They' both began working and supporting their families at that age as migrant farm workers. Still to this day my Grandparents work 7days a week 365 days per year. My aunt this year, finally found us a new legitimate bookkeeper and i would never ever recommend Eagle Accounting to anyone, not even my enemy. Even if their was no other accountant in town, i would recommend you to purchase Quick books and do the work yourself. Eagle Accounting Inc. are a bunch of greedy Thieves!! Who will take advantage of anyone who doesn't know any better. WARNING: EAGLE ACCOUNTING is corrupt and will overcharge you if they sense you could be an easy target. My parents and grandparents raised me and my siblings, to help others in need and treat those as you want to be treated!!

She asked me to move my car and I told her I would be only 8 seconds and gone. Well, this only ticked her off and then she got that "Karen" attitude as she informed me I was over the line, to which I replied You don't have to be a "Karen" about this I'm only going to be eight seconds. This ticked her off royally and "...maybe I was 11 seconds" but as I'm backing out to leave, out comes her camera with the fanatical attitude that she had caught me in a major criminal activity, as she raised her phone triumphantly and yelled something like "I got it!!!" As a former Corporate Executive, I find this kind of attitude and activity of an employee appalling and bad for business. I would never do business with an organization that doesn't value their potential customer base! There are other tax service businesses in our area, my suggestion is choose another!

With more complex finances, we knew we needed someone we could trust and who had the skill set to manage them (a task we didn't have the bandwidth to learn in addition to our own responsibilities). Jamison Hanson was referred to us by a friend and his father who were already clients, and I appreciated the firm's methodical approach. They use a calculated risk at a level we were comfortable with at each stage of life. Money management is all about managing risk and minimizing expenses in the process. Not having a financial background, I have benefited greatly from what I have learned through our partnership with Steven Jamison. I don't feel comfortable with the black box approach to decision-making where I put in money and hopefully more comes out. At every meeting there's a new detail of the evolving tax law and our changing financial situation, which leads to a range of choices to better position ourselves in our retirement. Steven's explanations increase our understanding of our finances, which helps us make the best choice consistent with our goals. We have recommended Steven to multiple people. I believe his greatest selling point is that I trust him! With his measured approach to management, I don't feel like we are gambling; we are managing risk. Most importantly, I trust Steven to have my best interests at heart and give us the best information he has. - Will & Rebecca
