I initally asked how much he charged and how long he thought it would take to prepare my business and personal taxes. I never got an answer to my question - which should have been my first clue. I received the invoice in the mail, for almost $900. That amount can cripple a small business. The invoice didn't specify or have a breakdown of why it was so much. When I called the office for clarification, I was told the tax prep took almost 5 hours. 2 hours alone to input previous years taxes into "the system." When I asked what "the system" was, I was only told their internal system. The past years filings from previous accountants took 1-2 hours. For a firm this size, I don't see how a simple return can take 5 hours.

A basic non itemized personal tax return with a couple business questions charged me 700+ dollars when they quoted me 130$ an hour for 1-2 hours. Unbelievable. They told me to not worry about it and then charged interest.

With more complex finances, we knew we needed someone we could trust and who had the skill set to manage them (a task we didn't have the bandwidth to learn in addition to our own responsibilities). Jamison Hanson was referred to us by a friend and his father who were already clients, and I appreciated the firm's methodical approach. They use a calculated risk at a level we were comfortable with at each stage of life. Money management is all about managing risk and minimizing expenses in the process. Not having a financial background, I have benefited greatly from what I have learned through our partnership with Steven Jamison. I don't feel comfortable with the black box approach to decision-making where I put in money and hopefully more comes out. At every meeting there's a new detail of the evolving tax law and our changing financial situation, which leads to a range of choices to better position ourselves in our retirement. Steven's explanations increase our understanding of our finances, which helps us make the best choice consistent with our goals. We have recommended Steven to multiple people. I believe his greatest selling point is that I trust him! With his measured approach to management, I don't feel like we are gambling; we are managing risk. Most importantly, I trust Steven to have my best interests at heart and give us the best information he has. - Will & Rebecca

Every year our 401k was sent the same Safe Harbor paperwork and we are always billed for the same amount when the same letter from the previous year was used and nothing new was done. I questioned it every year as any client should be able to but this year she lost her cool and discharged as she just can't work with us for questioning the billing. I guess we were not good little clients that never questions and just pay the billing. Great way to make a lot of money for the company by billing for the same thing with no new work. We also found out the fidelity bond we have had should have been increased but Ms. Moehl never informed us to do this because well we don't know why since she worked so hard on our account and billed us for work that she said she was doing. I have no email saying increase your bond. Do not recommend at all.

This ticked her off royally and "...maybe I was 11 seconds" but as I'm backing out to leave, out comes her camera with the fanatical attitude that she had caught me in a major criminal activity, as she raised her phone triumphantly and yelled something like "I got it!!!" As a former Corporate Executive, I find this kind of attitude and activity of an employee appalling and bad for business. I would never do business with an organization that doesn't value their potential customer base! There are other tax service businesses in our area, my suggestion is choose another!
