They write forms that look identical to government agency forms, and they do clarify that they are not a government agency nor a contractor to a government agency, which takes any liability away from them. They also write a vague statement regarding responses and due dates that are designed to make the reader immediately react so they don't get in trouble. In January I got a letter from them asking me to file NYS Biennial LLC fee, and at first it didn't make sense to me that the fee is higher than the LLC original filing fee. I put the letter in the drawer and took it out later to see what it is really about. They put a "respond by" date, but they never state the "due date" after which you can get in trouble with the state for missing it. So I am well past the "respond by" date they sent me, and I thought maybe there is an issue, I go on NYS website and sure enough, the Biennial LLC fee payment is not even open for processing yet, in other words, I can't even pay it. The fee NYS asks is $9 every 2 years, the fee these guys asked for is $150. NYS offers me the ability to e-file it, takes about 2 mins total to do. Meanwhile, this shady business wants me to write a check, mail it, pay $141 + mail cost EXTRA. So it's a massive UPCHARGE and a massive INCONVEIENCE. This "service" charges you $263.75 to do something that should cost you $150.00... and that is if they even bother to send in the report you send to them. Instead, If you are required to make an annal report to the Florida Division of Corporations, simply go to this website: https://dos.fl.gov/sunbiz/ after Jan. 1, 2025 and click on Annual Report under Filing Services and fill out the information for your business and save yourself $113.76. Be sure to file before April (I think) or you might get a fine and have to pay a little bit more. But throw this letter in the round file. read more
