I have never had anyone treat me with anything other than respect and compassion at their clinic. This is not a corporate run health-mill like most practices have now become, which I love.

I left a message that I would like an appointment and Dr. Johnson called me to ask which doctor…read morereferred me. I said I found her online searching for a doctor who understands low carb and would give me a comprehensive health eval and do extra blood tests that 99% of other doctors don't do. Also, I'm getting older and I suspect I have inflammation. She spoke a bit about what she does. It was what I was looking for. She mentioned her fee and I was ok with the fee. Then she said she only takes referrals from doctors because "most people don't understand what she does". If she just stopped her sentence at "only takes referrals from doctors" I would have thanked her and the conversation would have ended. But I replied that I do understand what she does and that I have a lot of knowledge about low carb and have done it on and off for years and have had success in weight loss and felt better. But I didn't stick with it because of my lifestyle and now in my 50's I have inflammation and I want to work with a doctor like her. She said she disagreed with me about why I didn't stick to low carb as if she has any clue about me, my health and life. She rambled on and kept pushing me for a doctors name even after I said I didn't have one. So thinking maybe it would help, I revealed a minor health issue I had in 2016 and how that doctor (I mentioned that doctor by name) told me to go low carb. She immediately started talking so she had no idea what I did and didn't do for treatment and what results were of tests I had back then in regard to this issue and that I have had no issues with it since. The conversation went on for a while and it was a jumbled mess. She was all over the place with her words. She spoke erratically. There was nothing linear about our conversation. She called me "obese". I never told her my height and weight but she probably took an educated guess thinking from a BMI perspective I am considered "obese". That's true but visually speaking I am overweight but I do not look obese. I'm not even in plus size clothing. It was totally unnecessary for her to call me obese in this conversation. Then she told me to go to any ol' MD, which is exactly what I don't want. I remember her saying the word "bariatric" in her mess of words and then she said that I need to get on pharmaceuticals and HRT. I said I want a doctor who will use nutrition and supplements first and see how it goes. She said it wouldn't be possible for me to do that and be successful with my health. She said this to me with minimal information about me and no lab work. I was shocked how a doctor who presents herself on her website as using food, fasting and supplements for health just wanted to pawn me off on any ol' MD and get on pharmaceuticals and HRT. I have read a ton of books and listened to a lot of podcasts on low carb, keto, carnivore and fasting. I know a lot can be corrected without drugs and HRT. And her website leads you to think she knows this too. Finally she sounded as if she had enough of dealing with me and wrapped up the conversation pushing me away and wishing me well in my health (something like that, it was a crazy whirlwind) and I literally stood there mouth agape at the appalling manner in which this doctor handled this entire conversation. Her site says her protocols "are designed to prevent the onset of chronic diseases and limit the progression of aging." Judging by her very comprehensive website I should have been a shoo-in for this doctor. But no. Something is very "off" about her. Update: Just looked at the facebook page for her practice. She claims she stands with "science" and that fraud Fauci. She actually believes "testing" with that fake PCR test means anything. She's masked up like a c0v-id cult freak in a few photos. She is decked out in these things. LOL She's a conventional medical industrial complex MD who just happens to follow a low carb/keto diet. I dodged a bullet.

This clinic is terrible. When I arrived, the woman at the front desk closed the tinted windows…read morewithout saying anything. Then, I could see her eating and looking at me through the windows. After about 5 minutes of me standing there, she eventually opened the window and asked what I wanted. I told her I was a new patient, signed in, filled out my paperwork and waited to be called. I was called in to get my vitals taken and was surprised at the lack of privacy. The area where I was getting my vitals taken is not a room nor is closed off so other patients were just passing by staring as they went in and out to the bathroom. The nurse took me to a room and on the way stopped to talk to a patient and left me at the patient's door while discussing his issues out loud. It was awkward and uncomfortable so I moved further along the hall, away from the door. In the room, I waited for the doctor but instead an intern showed up first. She was very nice but she wasn't too sure of what to do. The doctor eventually came in and was not very polite. He hardly let me speak, always interrupting me mid-sentence. I was told they would give me a strep test to see if I had strep throat. The doctor and intern left and the nurse came back in and took my strep test without changing the gloves she had worn to take my vitals and to take another woman's strep test. I was asked to wait so they could get the results of the test. I waited, and waited, and eventually fell asleep and woke up and still no one had come back. I'm sure at least 30 minutes passed at which point I stepped out of the room to look for someone and found the doctor, nurses and interns eating at the reception and I was the only patient left. They forgot I was there and when they saw me the intern said: oh she has a question. I said, "no, no one came back, they told me to wait." The doctor simply said "sorry" and said I didn't have strep but he was going to give me antibiotics anyway. He gave no indications as to how to take the medication so I asked. The nurse then asked "when I wanted to come back." I said I didn't know since the doctor didn't say I had to come back, so she said, "okay we will schedule you for a month." I asked about a referral the doctor said he'd give me to see a podiatrist and she didn't even know about it because the doctor didn't write it in my chart. I happened to run into the doctor on my way out and asked him if I had to come back and he said yes, in two weeks, at which point I had to go back and change my appointment. I asked what the earliest appointment was and was told I could get scheduled at 10am any day but that the doctor didn't usually show up until 11am, so I'm not sure why they even schedule appointments an hour before the doctor is there. After weeks of waiting to hear back about my referral, I went back to ask. At the window, in front of other patients the receptionist asked, why do you need a referral for a podiatrist, are you diabetic?" I am not diabetic but even if I were, what bothers me is that there is no patient privacy whatsoever. I was told that there was no record of a referral request and then was told that it was filed but they hadn't heard back. Almost two months after my initial appointment I still had not heard back and did not ever hear back. This place lacks professionalism and they don't treat patients with respect. I ended up calling my insurance to switch my primary care physician.

I…read morefeel compelled to add this because of the entitled princess Jennifer D. that wrote the scathing remarks without any history with the Drs. Preston or knowledge of their immense contribution to the community. So let me set the record straight. Both Drs were part of Doctors Without Borders and regularly served in third world countries helping impoverished and marginalized people all over the world. Bill Preston in fact died during one of these missions. Rebecca Preston was always passionate about passing her knowledge and experience on to the next generation of physicians, however patients were always asked if it was ok for the students to be involved with their care. Students repeat the same questions because that's how they learn. I was happy to help the process but perhaps Jennifer should have opted out if she was in such a hurry. Rebecca also steadfastly refused the corporate scheduling model (which allocates no more than 20 minutes per patient) giving each her full attention and not glancing at her watch. I would trade a 30 minute wait for a thoughtful consultation any day. I don't know where you go for medical care now, Jennifer, but a 30 minute wait seems about average anyway. And most importantly, when I was a single mom with no health insurance and working a collection of part time jobs to keep food on the table, Rebecca took care of me. She called it a "sliding scale" but she assured me that I should pay only when it was comfortable for me to do so. She never made me feel like a charity case or less than. I know she did the same for many others, including helping out at BEDS (our local homeless shelter). She took little interest in her appearance because there were far more important things on her mind. Like helping the homeless. NOT JOKING!!
