Super easy to talk to, takes time to maximize your visit, and is very thorough. Another plus is that they are in-network with my Aetna insurance plan. It's super quick to get in and out for a lab draw, flu shots, etc. there's been literally no waiting each time I've gone in to the office. Scheduling an in-person or video visit with my PCP is usually within 1-2 days, at most. If you're willing to see another provider to be seen sooner, you can usually get something for the same day. I see some of the older reviews mention some constructive feedback - but I can say my experience has been nothing but excellent. Sure, traffic in DTLA can take a few extra minutes and then you have the parking garage, but it's a fair trade off for excellent care.

I'm really sad that I won't get to go to him anymore since I lost my job & my insurance…read more The reason I liked going to him was because he really took time to explain to me whatever issue I had @ the moment. when I schedule an appt. with him, I also schedule my gyno appt. @ the time I had a gyno problem so I explained to her what was going on & all she responded is 'I never heard of that happening & if it happens again, let me kno'. I was not satisfied with that answer but what was I going to do. Luckily, I my next appt. was with Dr. Chai. When I told him what my problem was & what the gyno said, he couldn't believe it but he really tried to understand my problem & actually took the time to brainstorm with me. that really calmed me & for that I am sad to leave. by the way this happened a lil over a year ago.

Actually, Dr. Matsumoto is not my physician, but he is both my Father and Mother's revered doctor…read more Until a recent meeting with the doctor concerning my Father he was a mythical creature. One I heard a lot of but, never met or spoke to. My Mother and I decided ask the doctor if we should send Dad to the emergency room due to his rapid decline. I asked to speak to the doctor and he explained very patiently the manner in which my Father was declining and what our options were. He then asked if I wanted him to speak to my Mother, to answer any and all of her questions. Rather impressive since he spent a good 15 minutes with me, and another 10 with her. Mother and I decided to have Dad transported to St. Vincent's where Dr. Matsumoto could remain as his primary physician. He is running a battery of tests on Dad and hopefully soon he can give us a diagnosis and options. After being released from the emergency room, Dad was transported to a regular room. Approximately 15 minutes later, Dr. Matsumoto arrived to check up on Dad. He then went over his history and options with my Mom, husband and myself. It was a very informative conversation, almost philosophical. He left me feeling empowered to make a better, informed decision when the time comes. We need more doctor's like him in this world. Both of my parents are fond of him and have no complaints. Actually they trust him explicitly. Bedside manner - 5 Stars Comfort level - 5 Stars
