We joined Ridge Swim Club this past winter and unfortunately had to terminate our membership…read moreshortly afterward because we moved out of the area. The biggest concern, and something I think prospective members should understand before joining, is the financial situation surrounding the membership bond. We are currently #238 on the bond repayment list, meaning there are 237 former members ahead of us waiting to have their bonds returned. Had we understood the size of the repayment backlog and the club's financial position before joining, it absolutely would have factored into our decision. We personally did not feel the extent of that situation was adequately disclosed or made clear during the membership process. I understand that clubs can have financial challenges and that the bond repayment process may be outlined in the bylaws, so I'm not suggesting Ridge is violating its policies. However, there is a big difference between knowing that repayment isn't immediate and realizing you may be behind more than 200 other families waiting for repayment. Our experience with the club itself was limited because of our move, so I can't fairly comment on the pool, facilities, staff, or day-to-day experience. My reason for leaving this review is simply to make sure prospective members ask the right questions before paying a bond: How many former members are currently awaiting repayment? How many bonds are typically repaid each year? And realistically, how long should a departing member expect to wait? I wish we had asked those questions before joining.

When considering the cost of a membership with the number of times we've had to turn around and go home, it is not worth it. It would benefit the club to expand the fence around the pool so when the lounge chairs are full members could put towels behind. I could see the club being good for swim team members; it has nice lanes for swimming laps, but for anyone else, if you want to go for a swim through the week anytime after 4, the swim team is using it.

The baby pool has plenty of action, beach access, overhead fountains at knee depth, shallow for the not bravery swimmers, a diving board, lap lanes, and a jacuzzi. Not kidney shaped like many condo pools but rectangular with a extra little piece of square on the end. This pool is the perfect pool to lounge away a lazy Sunday. Complete with deck chairs, chaise lounges, tables with umbrellas, and floatation devices. I've only been in the women's changing room but it's pretty nice. It has showers which is a nice touch for a pool at a condo where all members are within walking distance of their own home showers. There are lifeguards. The water quality is always perfect, cool, clear and very little chlorine odor. Please note that you must become an annual member of the pool to swim there, or be lucky enough to be invited as a guest ($5 guest fee). On Wednesday evenings during the summer they have twilight swim, which is swimming between I believe the hours of 730 to 1030 ish.pm. they have a dj who plays hit music and lights that light up the pool. The kids really enjoy themselves as well as the adults. Its great to have something fun to do with the family at a great price. I know some people complain that you have to pay the fee to get in rather you swim or not, but honestly that is how it is at most public pools not just this facility. The…read morewater is shallow and does not exceed 3.5 feet however this is great if your child can swim and don't want to worry about losing sight of your child or having to worry. I was able to sit in one central location and see the entire park and my daughter. There is plenty to do from the multiple slides and obstacle courses but once a child is over 48 inches they are no longer able to ride. For now I will mark this as a favorite because momma was able to rest. There wasn't a line which was amazing and they now accept reservations. No vending machines or concessions so make sure you bring your own snacks and food. Lastly plenty of shades space and opportunities for seating and picnic tables .

Glen Burnie Park Swim Club is the definition if a family swim club. It is located in a quiet…read moreneighborhood next to a basketball and tennis court. The guards know all of the members and are always friendly and fun for the kids. My children always have fun playing with kids of all ages in the pool, going off the diving board, and on the playground. The swim team is a family, the kids learn so much more than how to swim and the parents become your friends. They have raft nights, movie nights, and other fun events. There is no place I'd rather spend my summers.
