Great place to do your laundry. Waiting for the dryer as you listen to the river flow by is peaceful.

Evergreen Cleaners - Major rip along the dress seem

I've been a customer of Evergreen Cleaners for approximately 5 years. I truly believe the quality…read moreof their work is second to none. Often I need a quick turnaround due to my travel schedules and they have always been very accommodating. I've learned that they have recently installed eco-friendly equipment which is important to our environment. I would recommend that you give them a try. Julie Winningham

I have been waiting to write this review, but last fall my mother took my wedding dress to be…read morecleaned by them two weeks before my wedding. They called her before she picked it up a week later (a week before the wedding) that there was a small rip in the underskirt from cleaning. My mom said no problem and picked it up. When we looked at it at home we noticed that the seam on the dress and train was majorly ripped and almost the entire underskirt seam was ripped. The rip was huge and needed to be repaired for the skirt and underskirt if I had any hope of wearing my dress for my wedding. This was a week before my wedding. We called them and they said they didn't have time to try and tailor it for us before my wedding and asked us to bring it by to validate the many rips we were seeing. We brought the dress back and showed the rips and the owner told us that other customers who bring stuff in and this happens don't blame her for any damage that happens. She also refused to refund us the full amount stating that she did technically clean it still. She took no accountability for the rips on my wedding dress and tried to put the blame on us for the stitching not being robust enough. Again, this is all a week before my wedding. I have never had an item damaged so extremely at a cleaners before and then been told it was my fault for the damage. For a place that is supposed to preserve wedding dresses and serves a small town I would have expected better service and customer service. At the end of this experience she told us to bring other clothes still for cleaning with them, which I will never be doing.

Out $3000 for ruined sheepskin rugs. The 8ft x 11ft rugs shrunk several feet in each dimension,…read moreand are matted, It looks like they just sprayed them with a power washer, and dried them in a kiln. Initially they agreed to give me a $3000 credit to pay for the sheepskin rugs they ruined. I showed the owner the rugs, in person, in my home, and he proceeded to tell me that he cannot give me a $3k credit, because the rugs were "used", and were not worth $3k. The most he would give is $1700 in credit. These are expensive large Overland rugs, and you cannot simply pick up a 8ft x 11 ft rug at the local thrift store. We showed him the current online prices, and he still refused. I also had an 8 pelt rug that was ruined, showed him this, right next to the identical 8 pelt in good condition, and he simply blamed his mystery "supplier" that he apparently farms all his work out to. This is another bad business practice, simply pawning my cleaning to unknown mystery companies that he never disclosed. He said the company charges him more than what we paid him, and he was supposedly doing us a "favor" to keep our business. Over the years, we have used Hopsin for all our dry cleaning and large item laundry needs. It started out very well, and I appreciated that they will come to your home and pick up and drop off your dry cleaning / laundry. However, we have a cleaning service clean our home every week, and the owner was making side comments about how dirty and unclean our bed sheets and other items were, and she recommended we stop doing business with Hopsin. But because they were so convenient, we stayed with them for years. We even stayed with them after they ruined our Saatva foam pillows, and after several stinky/moldy loads they would occasionally return to us, and of course, charge us full price every time. But this was a game changer, after the rugs were ruined, and they failed to even do what is fair, and credit us the $3000 for future services, which since we spend $300 a week with them, would only take 10 weeks to make up. The owner even said he doesn't want to lose our business, and "the customer is always right". Maybe he should take his own advice. I wish he would have been more transparent about the rugs, and said he has no idea how to clean them, and he doesn't know anyone else that can either, except for a guy in his garage with a power washer that he will send the rugs too, with no promise that the sheepskin rugs will even make it to the other side. Then, maybe I could have made an informed decision, and not give him our largest rugs for him to ruin.

This place seems to have changed owners in 2019 and the new owners are terrible. I own some…read moredesigner shirts that have special buttons on them. Normally, when I take them in to a cleaner, I show them the buttons and ask that they don't press them in their shirt machines because they crush the delicate buttons. Usually, as with the previous owners, they take a look, agree, and my shirts are returned to me with intact buttons. The previous owners laundered my shirts a dozen or so times this way with no issue. One day, I returned with my shirts to find a woman I didn't recognize behind the counter. Nevertheless, I explained the button issue and how the pressing machine destroys them and she looked confused. I explained again and she brought up another woman I didn't recognize. They chatted for a bit and still didn't seem to grasp that I didn't want the shirt to go into the pressing machine. Because the second woman didn't speak English, or at least didn't to me, trying to communicate my concerns through the first woman who didn't seem to understand the issue was impossible. In the end, I got the distinct impression they didn't want to deal with it and I was wasting their time trying to ask them to be careful with my expensive shirts. By then, I was worried that even if they had said they could handle it, I didn't trust they actually would. I left with my shirts and went to another cleaners in town who readily understood my issue without an issue. I will not be returning to this cleaners ever. They lost my business because they didn't seem concerned about damaging my garments.
