The Wildwood Antique Mall of Lakeland is part of the Wildwood Antique Mall chain. Wildwood Antique Mall claims to be one of the largest antique dealers in Florida. It was started in 2011, when 77-year-old Manny Pesco took his last $4,000 from his former auction business that had closed because of the 2008 recession and invested the money into the first Wildwood Antique Mall that took its name from the intersection it is located on. Other locations opened in Eustis, Vero Beach, and Titusville opened in the intervening years and the investment turned out to be a good one since all of the locations do around 5 million dollars annually. What makes this antique mall different from the other stores in the chain is the abundance of merchandise available from the theme parks. I found booths for both Universal and Disney items. The fun starts when you walk in the door and there is a carriage from Disney's Port Orleans resort out front and you are greeted by a velociraptor straight out of Universal Studios just inside the door. Wildwood Antique Mall of Lakeland has all of the typical booths of antiques you would expect to find but my favorite booths were the ones filled with Disney and Universal Studios merchandise. Recycling the Magic had a Splash Mountain log flume car, Vault Collectibles sells Disney and Universal studios props, and Melly's Remarket sells Disney art. My favorite booth was the Jurassic World Tribute store in the back of mall with a ton of Universal Studio items. They had an extensive horror collection and many other one of a kind items. I especially loved all of the Haunted Mansion items I found throughout the mall. If you are a theme park fan like me this is a must stop if you are in Lakeland. Prices for the real collectibles were more than I could afford but I found a Haunted Mansion Loungefly for only $25. There is something for everyone. Allow a few hours for a visit because this antique mall feels never ending. I could have easily spent all day here.

The section near the front door has some interesting finds, though pricing can be a bit high relative to condition. Even so, I did manage to pick up a few items I had been looking for at reasonable prices. The deeper section inside the store is where I had the best luck, with a much better mix of selection and value. There is a lot to go through, and I ended up making a second trip back just to finish digging through everything I wanted to explore. I came away with several great vinyl finds on both visits. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and very personable, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Free parking right by the front entrance is another added benefit, especially since street parking in the area is metered during weekday business hours. I also noticed they have a large selection of comic books, which may be of interest if you enjoy collecting those as well. If you enjoy digging for records and don't mind spending time searching, Lloyds of Lakeland is definitely worth a stop.

It is just a short walk to the historic Dundee depot museum. After being cheerfully greeted I was left to explore. As I looked around I was impressed with the artful arrangement and staging of furniture, art, and household goods throughout several rooms. Some of my favorite finds were the many vintage Christmas decorations, especially the sweet deer, beautiful furniture, a wreath made out of succulents and flower pots, and the adorable rabbit ornaments that adorned a tree. Prices ranged from just a few dollars to many hundreds. There is so much to see here that brings back memories. Find a one of a kind gift or that perfect piece to finish a room.

As most places, it's really hot in here so take a fan to enjoy your experience properly. The husband and wife team are very personable and comfortable with their customers. They can be somewhat hard to find but once they spot you they will welcome you and answer any questions you have. It was unfortunate to hear that due to the coronavirus, they may be going out of business. If they do, it will be a shame but if they don't, I hope people in the area (and those visiting) will stop and buy something! It broke my heart to leave this gorgeous leather push-pin sofa that was something you would see at Restoration Hardware, for $900! And I'm sure they would've negotiated! Upon entering Southern Gentleman Antiques it became clear the owner definitely appreciates all that visit - after a gracious greeting and invitation to explore every area of the shop he also offered refreshments and made us aware of the public restroom which is rare these days and although I passed on the refreshments I did visit the extremely clean and well maintained restroom I can't say enough about the customer service here. we were encouraged to ask any questions on the merchandise and we were left to explore this beautiful shop at our leisure.
