First of all, the gentleman working the booth was more attentive to the young girls that walked in minutes after I did then my old 40 year old self and my mother. Secondly, we all understand freedom of speech and having your own political beliefs is your right. But, when you make it a part of your advertising constantly, even for those who slightly agree with what you are using to pull people in, it is a turn off.

We ended up buying three candles with an LED flame less candle light to put in the bottom part. It fun to stop in and smell all the candles. Tip-take them outside to get a real sense of what they smell like. They must have over 100 different candles! You will definitely find one or more that you love. I got the snicker doodle cookie one. Heaven! The candles are all handmade on site. The adorable little store is also packed full of wonderful gift ideas. Don't know what to get someone? Get them a hand made candle, and support a local business. The super nice woman at the front told us we might get lost inside. She was right! This place has something for everyone: antique appliances, wood furniture, comics and collectibles, sports memorabilia, vintage toys, antique telephones. They had a large collection of cowboy boots and western wear. They also had almost an entire room of Planters peanuts paraphernalia. They have many taxidermy animals. Some with more than one head!

Later in the day I wasn't too far away in Winter Haven so I stopped in. She wasn't exaggerating about the grand scale of this antique store. Susan and Diego Barreiro opened their business in 2000. They started working out of their den on Havendale Boulevard in Winter Haven but they outgrew the space so in 2014 they moved to this location. In 2022 they won Best of Haven, Best Antique Store. Treasure House Antiques and Collectibles is located in a former funeral home. There is 10, 000 square feet of inventory and 42 vendors. After receiving a greeting I was free to explore room after room filled with treasures, clothing, furniture and home goods. Some of my favorite discoveries were the vintage holiday decorations, mid century Christmas tree, vintage Pyrex, and vintage stove. Prices seemed very reasonable. Clothes started at $5, antiques and collectibles started at $5, and furniture started at $10. If you love vintage and antiques as much as I do, this is definitely a stop you want to make in Winter Haven.
