Last week, my father and I stopped into Spoto's Florist to order flowers for my stepsister's…read morefuneral. We spent a good half hour pouring through sample books to make sure we found a spray that would represent the love and sympathy our family felt about our dear sister/stepdaughter's passing. We left specific instructions regarding the time of the ceremony and asked that they perform the delivery the evening before the funeral. This morning, when we arrived at the funeral home, our flowers were no where to be seen. Quickly, I located the funeral director to inquire about the flowers and find out if they had already been taken to the gravesite. He directed me to the secretary or coordinator of the facility who called Spoto's to find out what had happened. The owner, Jay, said that he had written down the wrong day and time. The coordinator then asked him if he had anything just laying around he could send over (at no expense to us), because of his error and he did not. I asked the lady helping us to tell him to cancel the order and we'd stop by on the way home for a refund. After the funeral, my father and I headed over to Spoto's for the refund. When we arrived, there were no lights on in the store, but the door was unlocked, so I entered to get our money back. I called out and looked for someone (anyone) to assist me. No one was there. I got back in my car and explained to my dad what was going on. I googled Spoto's and when Jay answered, he said he was "literally 2 minutes away." When he arrived 10 minutes later, I got the refund and was on my way. But who does that? You leave your place of business open to the public, when you are literally 10 minutes away? And is he on drugs? Jay looked at our faces, while taking notes, and wrote down something completely different than what we discussed. I'm not sure I've ever done business with anyone more unprofessional. I'm not mad. We got our money back. I'm disappointed about not having any flowers at the funeral from our family and appalled that we trusted Spoto's to take care of our order, when they were clearly not up to the task. I'd never recommend them to anyone or do business with them again. I had to give them 1 star to post this, but my rating is 0/5.
