I was in Florida, visiting a friend, and talked her into making the 2 hour trip to Four Purls. Walking in, I was amazed! The place really is HUGE - the largest yarn shop I'v ever been in. The owners were really nice, explaining how the store in laid out with regard to the yarn weights. I asked about Cashmere yarn; they had it. Yak yarn; they had it. Yarns from countries that I didn't know produced yarns - Japan. They have their own private label yarn as well. This is a destination store if you're anywhere in Florida. If you use yarn in any way, you will love this place. I told my friend I'll be back to visit, if only to go back to Four Purls.

I had no reasons to visit Winter Haven (nothing there), but I found myself on the way from Tampa to Orlando on a Sunday so I stopped in. It's rare for a LYS to be open seven days a week - but they are so that was a definite plus. There's a decent amount of free parking on the street and in a nearby small lot. The store has a great selection, although I found it to be eaten up by a ton of Emma's yarns (local, but having one wall of it takes away from other yarns they could stock in my opinion). For example, I wish they stocked Cascade 220 since no stores nearby stock it. Although there is a yarn for everyone, and a few interesting finds (Biscotti self-striping, multicolored roving, art yarns, crochet animal kits). I met Noelle, and she was very sweet in helping me out, and showed me around the shop since it was my first time there. Overall, there's a good range of yarns organized by weight (my preferred layout for a LYS), and is definitely one of the top yarn stores I've been to in the Southeast.

I therefore, went to the Michael's in Haines City. Once I went in, I noticed a fully clean store, amazing. I then walked over to the designer frames department where I encounted the phenomenal, noteworthy Artist/Painter, Sherrii Myers Wray. Wow, I never knew Michaels hired such a person. I spoke with her about my portrait that meant so much to me, she took that to her warm heart. The ravishing Artist;/Painter mentioned to that she would be done in approimately 30 minutes, i returned later than that. when I looked at the portrait of my Late Great, Great Uncle, permit me to say, Artist/Painter. Sherri M. Wray out did herself on this one. For the job that she did, she deserves by David Boone, CEO., and the Board of Michaels, a plaque with position and raise. I recommend all Floridians to come out to the Haines City Michaels, and meet the remarkable Artist/Painter Sherri Myers Wray. Take my word, it's like meeting Paplo Picasso. However, I have been desperate since Joann's shut down and Michael's doesn't have the same yarn selection. Finally I found some baby safe yarn for my next crochet project. There was only an aisle and a half, so I'm disappointed the selection was small. For fabrics, they do have a lot of good apparel textiles. I was able to find the perfect materials to make Kpop Demon Hunters Halloween costumes, plus put together Miras weapon. When I was in store they had sales on yarn and fabric, I found everything reasonably priced. My big complaint though is there only being two cashiers when lines are backed up. If the company is not going to use barcodes because of the ceo's extreme views (religious psychosis), then they should have more cashiers. Thank the universe they opened another line when a customer had 3 shopping carts full of merchandise, but it has always taken way too long whenever I visited.

Serendipitous. I found so many nice pictures to hang. I didn't know what to choose from. I didn't even let myself get pulled into the other aisles because I knew I would be there for hours! I did get a peek at the Valentine's Day selection. It was adorable. The value for what I purchased for my canvases was unreal. I can't wait to see what is on sale next week! I'll be a return customer that's for sure.
