The moment I walked in with my friend we were met with eyes. We were interested in all of the beautiful products they had, and had so much fun looking around, but we were being followed the entire time. There was 2 women and a man following us all over the place, staring at everything we picked up. Every time we walked in their direction to ask for help, they would walk away from us. They also intensely stared at us when we got to the jewelry section. I even made eye contact with one of the ladies since her eyes never moved from us. I understand a store owner's reasoning for keeping an eye on customers, but please be mindful of how often you are checking up on them. About 10 mins into our visit, a gentleman came up to us and started to lightly joke about our "boyfriends spoiling us" and speaking about how our boyfriends should treat us and having relationships with them. We started to feel uncomfortable since this gentleman was pressing into our personal life and guiding us towards the register. We did not get a chance to choose anything else to purchase, which is very disappointing since they had such beautiful jewelry options. Since we were specifically looking for bookmarks, I was trying to ask for some help. I asked the gentleman 3 times "Excuse me sir, I have a question." He just continued to ignore me and walked us to the register, while consistently talking about relationships with men. We both felt very uncomfortable and did not enjoy our visit. I do not want to believe that our experience was due to us being Hispanic women, since I want to look at the positive side of our visit. The store had some beautiful items for a high value, and the layout was nice. I hope other customers have a better experience than what we did, and I hope we can have a better experience if we ever do return in the future.

The flowers I received were dead and and I NEVER even gotten the ballon. Which sucks because I love balloons. The fruit arrangement I received was a totally different from what I ordered $15 - $20 cheaper actually!!!! So not only were the flowers DEAD the fruit and arrangement was wrong as well. So I got up at 8:30am and drove 30mins to this location just for the lobby to be closed to the public (FROM WHAT IVE EXPERIENCED IM SURE OTHER PPL HAVE BEEN UPSET SO I UNDERSTAND WHY THE LOBBY IS CLOSED) so I called while outside and was able to speak to a employee who said the reason why I received a different fruit arrangement was because they don't do blooming daisies on holidays which if that was the case they shouldn't have it as an options and that should be communicated being that it's more expensive than the the basic one. Their menu changes seasonally and each seasonal special is always scrumptious. The menu staples that you must try: cheesy chicken crunch, any daily tea, smoked gouda pumpkin dip, windsors, broccoli salad, and the heavenly scones that come with Devonshire cream on the side. The scones come complimentary with your meal, but our family enjoys them so much we call ahead to warn them we're coming and order extras. It doesn't matter what flavor scone they're serving, they are all delicious; cooked perfectly, soft and crisp at the same time. I've yet to find any place with scones that can replicate or out do these, and since this place is over 1300 miles from my home, believe me I've tried. The scones here are so delicious that we even had them served at our wedding. Along with the daily tea they also offer a daily soup and daily quiche. This is one of the few places I've ever been where I've always been satisfied with whatever is coming out of the kitchen. They also offer dessert, but between appetizers, our meal and the many scones we have, there is hardly ever enough room left for dessert. Beyond the amazing food, this place gives back to their community. They participate in many of the local events, and promote the city. They host special events such as tea with the Easter Bunny, Santa Clause, and Mrs. Clause, and these events have been major memory making events in the childhoods of our family. We love any event they're hosting. When our father was going through cancer treatments and couldn't make it to join us, as he usually would, they sent us home with a goodie bag with well wishes written on it for him. They are truly good people that value the relationships they build with their customers. We as customers were just as emotional as one of the servers when they were leaving to retire, which is just one example of the bonds built here. While this is a tea room and fully supports any fancy tea attire, you can also come as you are, they're happy to see you either way. They also have many hats through out the tea room that can be worn or used while there. In addition to food, they also have a retail area and various retail items throughout the tea rooms within the building. My favorite time to shop here is Christmas time because they have the cutest aprons which are perfect for making Christmas cookies with the family. They also sell the tea that they make, pre made or just the tea itself (loose leaf or in bags), they're not gatekeeping, they want to share the goodness. If you want to enjoy the Florida weather, you can opt to dine outside on the front porch. No matter which spot you choose to take it all in, you won't be disappointed. We come home to this area nearly 3-4 times a year and we never come back without making sure we visit this tea room. My only warning is that the neighbors next door aren't cool and they won't share the obviously available parking, so make sure to pay attention to the posted parking signage when choosing your spot. We also recommend a reservation if you plan to come with a larger party since the different tea rooms can limit where you can be seated, based on availability. The super nice woman at the front told us we might get lost inside. She was right! This place has something for everyone: antique appliances, wood furniture, comics and collectibles, sports memorabilia, vintage toys, antique telephones. They had a large collection of cowboy boots and western wear. They also had almost an entire room of Planters peanuts paraphernalia. They have many taxidermy animals. Some with more than one head!

Later in the day I wasn't too far away in Winter Haven so I stopped in. She wasn't exaggerating about the grand scale of this antique store. Susan and Diego Barreiro opened their business in 2000. They started working out of their den on Havendale Boulevard in Winter Haven but they outgrew the space so in 2014 they moved to this location. In 2022 they won Best of Haven, Best Antique Store. Treasure House Antiques and Collectibles is located in a former funeral home. There is 10, 000 square feet of inventory and 42 vendors. After receiving a greeting I was free to explore room after room filled with treasures, clothing, furniture and home goods. Some of my favorite discoveries were the vintage holiday decorations, mid century Christmas tree, vintage Pyrex, and vintage stove. Prices seemed very reasonable. Clothes started at $5, antiques and collectibles started at $5, and furniture started at $10. If you love vintage and antiques as much as I do, this is definitely a stop you want to make in Winter Haven.
