I strongly discourage potential patients from going to Centerville Pediatric Dentistry if you're…read moreinterested in pricing transparency. They used Dayton Children's for anesthesiologist services, scheduled through themself with insurance pre authorization through the Dentistry practice. My story is that we paid $500 before the procedure as an estimated cost. Following the surgery, we were hit with $14k bill from Dayton Children's and $600 more from the dentist. We have medical and dental insurance. The dentistry practice got preauthorization for it. So what actually happened then? How can it go from $500 to $15k. My wife's labor cost was lower. I strongly feel that Centerville Pediatric does not care holistically about the patient or their families. They want that sweet sweet $$$$, and refuse to help you figure out why we got a $14k bill despite them scheduling and getting pre-authorization for the service. When I asked for help several times over months to figure out the billing error, they finally said they will send to collections. "They bill separately." Yeah yeah, but you scheduled it and got preauthorization. You should have been transparent about costs instead of trapping us without recourse.

This place is not a safe and welcoming environment for children, especially any with sensory…read moresensitivities or anxieties. I took my children here three times for cleanings and once for fillings. They are so booked that they do not take the time to comfort children who are struggling or go back to skipped steps (e.g. x-rays) because it is a very uncomfortable process and they are far from gentle in placing the slide in the child's small mouth. In fact, there were multiple children crying at my kids' last cleaning and one of the hygienists told a child to "stop being a cry baby." This child not accompanied by a parent as the child was in foster care. They always seem to have lots of foster kids being seen with extensive offerings of unnecessary treatments, taking advantage of a sensitive population for monetary gain at the expense of already traumatized and mistreated children. The hygienists gossip around corners about the children with nothing positive to ever say. During my child's filling, the Dentist even tried to tell my kid that he was numb and couldn't feel anything and to stop moving. I stepped in and clarified that there are known genetics that anesthesia resistance and that it is only right to believe the child when they say it hurts. Only then was another injection of lidocaine given. Don't let the TVs above each cleaning table or the prizes fool you. They do not tell the kids step-by-step what they are going to do and do not make any accommodations. This place has traumatized my kids and me to the point we are anxious to try any dentist. They are also outdated in their practices when considering who sealants are best for, when a spacer should be placed, using high flouride on baby teeth to spare the trauma of an unnecessary tiny cavity having to be filled before it falls out on its own, or remineralization and prebiotics education to parents much less as a treatment. Such a disappointment from our wonderful pediatric dentist in another state. The two positive comments that I have are 1. My children were vomiting sick all night before a cleaning and I called to notify first thing in the morning of this pop-up illness, which they did change their appointments with no cancellation charge and 2. They front ladies are not stingy with the rewards (e.g. they will trade-out an unwanted colored ball for a desireable one). Otherwise, this is a meat market of children's dentistry. Never leave your child alone here and better yet, avoid the trauma of this place all together.

He attempted to recrown the tooth. He fractured the tooth severely during the recrown procedure $$. Because of this, Dr Quinttus caused the tooth and jaw to abscess. Dr Quinttus root canaled the tooth 4 months after the crown $$, and then pulled the tooth the very next day $$. Charging me money for each failed procedure. Dr Quinttus never took xrays during any of his procedures. I had to go through several rounds of antibiotics for the abscess, jaw surgery to remove the abscess by a surgeon, and bone grafting of the jaw by a surgeon. I also have permanent nerve damage in that area of my face. Dr Quinttus started to fill an early abscess fistula with an antibiotic to which I'm severely allergic. I had to remind and explain this allergy to him multiple times. He doesn't check your medical chart. Dr Quinttus never communicates his steps or plans of action. He performs the procedure and walks away. He has zero dental skills or communication skills, which is a very dangerous combination for a dentist. By the way, I am writing this review 9 months after Dr Quinttus extracted the abscessed tooth. Due to Dr Quinttus: I suffered jaw bone abscess, continue with severe jaw pain, continue to suffer with problems speaking, and continue to suffer from numbness of the teeth/gums/cheek/lip in that area. Due to Dr Quinttus: I had to miss several days of work. This whole episode was a nightmare. And I still suffer from his damage. Do not go to Rahn Dental! Dr Quinttus is very unskilled, very unprofessional, very dangerous, senile, and needs his license removed immediately. He and Rahn Dental are only out for money. I will continue to share this horrific story of Dr Quinttus with everyone I meet and know. Herbert Head III, Professor of Biological Sciences

Dr. Hallock did not seem too concerned about the bone he left exposed after pulling my bottom teeth. The denture he made was not much of a denture. Too big for my mouth and made lots of sores that were hard to get rid off. I just stopped going and instead went to a dentist that was finally able to make the denture fit and cleared up the sores. I honestly would never use him again and have told friends and family not to go to him.

Nice try getting my review removed, but people deserve to hear the truth…read more Before I made the apt I advised them that I had a referall for a root canal but wanted an extraction instead, & asked if the dentist can perform the extraction to which they said "yes". But after meeting Hallock & seeing his blatant bias viewpoint for root canals, I'm wondering why in the heck I wasn't just referred to an Endodontist in the first place!? First off -- he was so annoyed from the get go but he was the one who was 45 minutes late. Don't be irritated with me when I'm polite & waited patently just because I requested an extraction for my first apt LOL He made unfair assumptions about me being a Holistic quack because I wanted a decayed tooth removed. He asked "how will you eat"? & "why remove it if its not hurting & there's very little infection?" Well DOC, if you would have BOTHERED to listen without making unfair assumptions, sighing & interrupting repeatedly & being so patronizing -- you would know that I've already seen multiple dentists about this tooth for the last 2 years & have had MULTIPLE root canals so I think I've had adequate time to think this over! I didn't appreciate his assumption that I'm making some rash decision. It's not one I made lightly, I even lost weight over this because we should not be pulling our teeth. But we ALSO shouldn't be getting root canals!! So people making these tough yet proper treatment choices need SUPPORT not discouragement! I wanted to get this over with but was instead met with a repetitive lecture. The last dentist who pulled my 2 root canaled/decayed teeth didn't fear monger or try to upsell me like a used car salesman! And FYI -- Credentials do not have a monopoly on knowledge, experience.. OR politeness which is clearly evident in this case. He had the worst bedside manner of any medical "professional" I've ever met & I've met quite a handful! He wanted to make sure I was "informed". Ok Doc well being "informed" is knowing that root canal teeth are DECAYED teeth! But dentists will grind down perfectly HEALTHY teeth to give you veneers while calling YOU crazy for wanting decayed teeth removed??!! OK LOL See where this is going? $$$! He clearly felt threatened & challenged by me actually being informed & choosing health over his bottom line -- so he rushed my appointment before saying he would do the extraction if I wanted. Ummmm ABSOLUTELY NOT! But he knew exactly what he was doing. He wanted me to be uncomfortable so I wouldn't do it. His "expert" opinion is that a 33 year old is too young to remove their teeth & that implants can fail. But wait -- root canals ALSO FAIL! As a matter of FACT the success rates ranging between 70-85% while IMPLANTS in general with proper care have a success rate of up to 98%!!!!! So why on EARTH would a dentist be so ignorant & try to scare me into spending MORE money in the long run to keep a DECAYING tooth when the data clearly shows that it's much healthier & cost effective in the long run to pull it while I'm still young & have a better chance of healing??? I could care less if we disagree or not -- but don't LIE & mislead people! Just because someone makes an unconventional choice doesn't make it wrong. Last but not least, I find it interesting how he URGED me the entire appointment to save that tooth but I literally JUST left an appointment from my new dentist who recommended I remove it after seeing the xray. LOL Interesting?! Point being -- trust your gut! He even gave me an option to put a crown on it instead of an implant so I advise anyone reading this to check out Dr. Zhang from zealous dental.

I have no objection to getting mine x-rayed if there is a legitimate medical reason for doing so. (Call me old-fashioned.) But I am not going to get x-rayed "just because." At my previous dentist, I explained my position regarding x-rays, and on my first two appointments, the hygienists cleaned them without making a fuss. Then I got a hygienist who said that she wouldn't go near my mouth unless I got x-rays...so I walked out. And switched to Premier. On my first two trips to Premier, the hygienists were fine with me not getting x-rays, but then I encountered one who tried to push them on me. When I pushed back, they said that although they were willing to clean my teeth this time, I would need x-rays in the future. And when I was checking out, they asked me to sign a waiver that relieved them of any harm I might have caused myself by not getting x-rayed, which I gladly did. The question: Why do dentists insist on playing such games? They make what should seem like a health care visit feel instead like a visit to a used-car dealer. Very unprofessional!
