By far my favorite dentist!!! The staff is always extremely friendly. I have been with Dr. Dodd for quite a few years and never had one bad experience. I had been to a few others before I found Dr. Dodd's office and felt like that they where trying to make an extra buck by telling me what all "is in dire need" to be done. My daughter was told by our previous dentist that she had several cavities. I was doubtful and went for a second opinion by Dr. Dodd. X-rays showed that her teeth where cavity free. We've been going to Dodd for about 12 years. Quality and timeliness has gone downhill as they've grown. They're so busy, that they barely have time to meet the basic need of each customer. As they schedule routine cleanings 7-8 months apart. If you need to reschedule, it's 5-7 months before they have an appointment available! Wait times are above average. I had a crown put on a few months ago after they tried repeatedly to fill the area but the filling kept falling out. Getting the crown was the most painful experience I've ever had and it has caused a severe phobia of the dentist. I'm forever traumatized from that experience. Hygienists are friendly. But, the long wait times and the unacceptable time frame to reschedule appointments has us looking for a new dentist. read more

I love Dodd Dental ! I transferred in from Lakeview Dental Spa after they stopped using nitrous! Dr denny was assigned to me as he is very good with my anxiety, fears, and autism and he handles me very well ! Everytime i am there the nitrous is started immediately no questions asked! The first staff member this am who had me however didnt click well with me this am! but the 2nd one i had at 330 was awesome! i am so glad that i transferred into dr dennys office, and how awesome he is! i love my front office staff member heather that works with me! i cant wait to meet beth with heather in september! The Bryan Dodd practice was one of the best dentist office experiences that I have had thus far. The office is nice and inviting, very open and clean. I had to bring my youngest daughter with me and they were very accommodating by offering her a bean bag chair to sit in and a coloring book and crayons to draw with while I had my examination. My hygienist asked me a series of questions, went over homecare and my concerns (I came in for a regular checkup and x-rays). She was very nice and patient because she had to explain multiple times to me how to go about caring for my highly sensitive teeth and the proper way to floss. Did you know that tartar control toothpaste actually counteracts sensitivity reducing agents? So if your teeth are sensitive, do not used toothpaste with tartar control ingredients! Also, Sensodyne although it works well, is only a bandaid because when you do not use it, you notice sensitivity pretty much right away. Use fluoride mouthwash such as ACT as well to help with the sensitivity which will have a more permanent effect. These are the tips from my hygienist! She gave me a handy homecare handout with specific instructions that I still have in my bathroom. The x-rays were relatively painless/less uncomfortable than normal and they have a panoramic x-ray which is always interesting. There was a hygienist in training watching as well which was a good sign that this dentistry valued the up and coming talent of their field. My hygienist seemed to be a great teacher as well, giving her tips as she went along. Dr. Dodd was nice and cordial. Since there was nothing wrong with my x-ray, he did not have much to say about my teeth so our visit was not long. The hygienist had already explained much of the exam to me, such as the numbers she read out as she examined my teeth and why they needed to mark areas to watch in the future. I was very happy with my dental experience at the Bryan Dodd practice and it is too bad that I have to move away after finding it! Another great note to make of this place is that they have a cancellation list so that if you want to get an earlier appointment, they can put you on the list and call you when a cancellation arises to see if you would like that appointment. read more

We've been going to Dr Dodd for years and would recommend him to everyone. He and his staff are friendly and competent. Does not try to rip you off with unnecessary procedures or try to sell you stuff you don't need. One of my molars is kind of cracked and I asked if I should get it crowned. I moved to Michigan and went through three dentists before giving up and traveling 6 hours to make it back to Dodd. I heard he has some new people involved but Dodd is just an incredible and honest dentist. he does fantastic work and he only does it when he needs to. honestly, I was unsure of how to take it when he was sighing over my cavity and telling me that I needed to brush better. We had heard good things about Dr. Dodd, so gave him a shot for our semi-annual checkup. We were hugely disappointed. The first thing that we did not like was the massive open-concept cleaning stations. There was no privacy, no doors or anything; rather I felt like cattle being herded into a station. You could easily hear other conversations going on with other patients, and it really set me on edge. The hygienist I had was pretty awful. She took x-rays, and saw that one of my molars was composed of 70% composite filling. I've had this filling for around 10 years, and no dentist has ever commented on it. But as soon as she saw it, she started talking about how I'll have to have a root canal, it doesn't look good, and on and on. In addition, she kept talking about these special vitamins she's on, and how I should take them, where to buy them - I kind of felt like she was trying to sell me some. It made me very uncomfortable. When the doctor came in, she told him her theory of why I needed a root canal. He immediately dismissed that, and said that if it wasn't bothering me, then it was fine. Overall, the doctor wasn't too bad, but the hygienist was terrible, and the reason we will never return. We now see Dr. Roddy, a phenomenal dentist with an excellent staff. I had teeth or gum inflammation last week, so I made an appointment with Dr. Bryan Dodd's dental office (at Beavercreek, Ohio). I had a very bad experience with Dr. Bryan Dodd in 2008. Dr. Bryan Dodd recommended a deep cleaning which another dentist told me is not really necessary. Also, the first hygienist he assigned to clean my teeth is really not experienced, really not good, and I can feel the pain and discomfort during the deep cleaning. I had to stop the deep cleaning in the middle, because of the pain and all the blood in my mouth. After I complained to Dr. Bryan Dodd, he assigned a second hygienist to do the deep cleaning for me. This second lady was doing a much better job, if I did not remember wrong, I think her name is Debra. Because of Debra, I had a shred of good feeling about this dental office. Also, I would like to use Debra to do the cleaning of my teeth in the future. But I already lost trust of the dentist himself, so I have not been to this office for several years. Since I have been there before, I can get an appointment earlier. That is why I went there to see Dr. Mack Wright this week, because I need some antibiotics prescription to treat the inflammation. Dr. Mack Wright is even worse than Dr. Bryan Dodd. After I told him my pain in the teeth, he opened my mouth and looked a few seconds, and told me that my problem is in the third last tooth, and I need to lose this tooth. I told him my pain is in the second last tooth, not the third last tooth. He then said:" Yeah, it is the second last tooth". He really does not look like a professional, and right after he said this, I already lost all the trust that I can give a professional dentist. I felt that I need to get a second opinion about my teeth problems, since I will not just lose a tooth so easily without consulting a second dentist. And I said that I need a second opinion before I lose a tooth. He then asked me to have an X-ray exam, in order for him to prescribe antibiotics. I said my teeth are aching now, any further touching might irritate the teeth more. Is that okay that you prescribe antibiotics today, and I can come back to do the x-ray after the inflammation is gone. But he refused it. He said that he can only prescribe the antibiotics after the x-ray. After I said I want to consult a second dentist, he might already decided that he will not help me with my pain in the teeth. It was a Friday, so I had no way to see another dentist before this Monday. I felt that he is not only not professional, also not caring as a doctor, who is supposed to help people. Finally, I refused to take the x-ray today, and he refused to give me the antibiotics. So I have to endure the pain over the weekend before I can find another dentist. I am just thinking how can anyone trust Mack Wright as a dentist? It seems that he is not serious about patient's problems. Losing a tooth to me is a big deal, but he seems so arrogant by saying you need to lose a tooth within a few seconds. I want to mention one thing, that the lady who was talking with me before the dentist is actually really nice. I felt bad that I have to refuse to do the x-ray exam because of the dentist himself. read more
