First off, let me confess that I have ten thumbs when it comes to electronics and gadgets. So, when the cleaning crew I hired yanked my TV, DVD player, speakers and FIOS cables all to hell, I was up a creek without a paddle. Nothing worked except the DVD, and that was now all pixilated. Damn it! Was I going to lose my unwatched episodes of Wilfred and the season premiere of Sons of Anarchy??? Ahh to hell with that! So I found Direct Hi Def off Yelp and give them a call around Sept 5 to explain my problem. Unfortunately, (or fortunately, since I was heading to Italy for vacation) I was not able to schedule Mihai until I returned. When I returned to work on Thursday, he was the first person I called. He remembered my dilemma and worked on scheduling me asap. Now anyone in the L.A./OC/IE area knows what a pain the commute can be, so we had difficulty setting up an evening appointment during the week. I am in Chino Hills, and their office is in Irvine. No problem, Mihai offers to come out on Saturday. We are in touch back and forth the past few days (great communication by phone and text), and he shows up as scheduled today Saturday as agreed. Mihai goes to work, and less than 90 minutes later, my FIOS is back up, my speakers work, the DVD looks sharper than ever, and now I have a iPOD outlet for my receiver. All at a more than fair price, mind you. It was only in talking to Minhai that I come to find out that he is committing to my project in between several personal engagements today. He took the time, effort, and gasoline to drive from deep OC to CH on his day off to fulfill his commitment to me. All I can say is, if you need ANYTHING in the home audio/video installation, repair, or upgrade departments, Direct Hi Def is your solution. When it is time to bring my home audio/video into the 21st Century, DHD will be the only one I call. Thanks a million, Mihai!

    I kept receiving postcards & letters from Cox for $30 per line for 300 MBPS a month service. Last…read moreweekend I brought the postcard to the Laguna Niguel store and I had to wait 25 minutes before someone helped me and then the guy told me..."oh you're not eligible for this offer." When I pushed back and asked him why he said "I don't know but it doesn't show up in the system for you." This week Cox sent me another letter with the same offer - $30 a mo for the next 24 months. LUCKILY - this time I went to the Cox Lake Forest office and was helped by Nick K. When he went into my account he found that the person that had signed us up initially had us on a "roommate account" because the previous owner hadn't shut off her service by the time we moved it. He went in and fixed out account, was SUPER kind and very patient. This was the first time in a long time that visiting a Cox store was a very pleasant experience. This is the new store that I will go to from now on!!! Make sure to seek out Nick K.

The willingness to listen to our needs was greatly appreciated. HSG stepped up to the plate and hit a homerun. Jimmy Orange and HSG provided outstanding customer service, as a reputable company always should, building long-lasting relationships. While searching for TV/Internet service, Jimmy was referred to us to help expedite the process. After dealing with companies and their customer service (or lack their of) in the past, we were dreading the chore of finding and setting up service in our new home. Jimmy gathered the information and handled all of the necessary details, allowing us to move easily forward. We chose Frontier as our service provider and Jimmy helped set everything up. He even offered (and actually came) to oversee the installation to make sure everything was done properly and they way we wanted. Unfortunately, Frontier proved to be a frustrating challenge, with two weeks of miscommunication, several reschedulings and additianal charges, adding insult to injury. Jimmy, understanding our extreme irritation, was with us completely. He was our advocate, went to bat for us to get the installation done and helped get those additional charges reversed. In the end, we have the service we wanted, with the price that we were originally quoted. Thank you for superb service and following through with us.

    One month service now and it's mixed. Installation went smooth and the employees I dealt with were…read moretop notch. Today we have an outage and it's going on 5 hours with no update. Have two people that work from home and it impacted us. Can't reach a live person to see if it will be down tomorrow in order to make work plans. Understand everybody has glitches but need a better system on informing people about outages. Still won't go back to cox.......yet.

I accepted one of them, and I also want to say that I genuinely apologized for my part in how things escalated. Just one business day later, Jon-Michael from Technical Support contacted me and scheduled a new installation date. Mike (hands down their best technician) came out, quickly diagnosed the problem, and set up a new system that has been working flawlessly ever since. I can't say enough good things about Mike's expertise and professionalism. Logan also helped get the system configured and running smoothly from the virtual support side. I am now more than happy with Cityside Fiber -- both as an internet provider and as a company overall. If you're having any issues with Cityside Fiber, my strong advice is to escalate to one of the people mentioned here. Strider, Jon-Michael, Mike, and Logan are all true professionals who will do the right thing for you.
