Worst experience with any kind of utility ever!! Had service hooked up Jan 6 and it worked for less than 48 hours... had a service tech out on Jan 9 and he replaced the equipment. That time the service lasted less than 5 hours. I cancelled the service that week and switched to Verizon. I returned the modem I had on Jan 13. Then I got a bill for $108 because of the set up fee and "service period". I paid it just to not have to deal with them any more! Now 6 weeks later I'm still fighting a charge for equipment they say I didn't return, but it's the modem the technician took back with him during the service call but he never left me with a receipt. I've had no less than 1 call a week and multiple emails and even the text service. Each time I'm told it will be cleared and then the next week I get some form of a reminder to return equipment or pay the $240 fee. Now several weeks and multiple calls later I FINALLY am told I need a ticket to open a case... so the saga continues... read more

This is the worst possible communications company. They over sell their capabilities. They lie. The service is literally so slow that I have to go home to upload data through my Verizon internet. I just had a class that had to be cancelled because the internet was down, but they claim they charge the ridiculous amount that they do because they are providing better service than what is provided to residential customers. They trap you in a contract that you can't get out of without paying the full price of the contract. I've never heard of any other company doing that. They know their service is bad. They trap you so that you have to stay stuck with their crappy service. As soon as I can afford to get away from them, I am dumping them. I'd be willing to bet if they told their customers they were released from their contracts, most of them would run as fast as they can. Do yourself a favor, don't sign with cox. They are overpriced, they over promise, and then you're stuck. I regret it everyday single day. read more

Unfortunately, Cox is the only game in town. I talk to many people, making many promises, none have thus far delivered but my price keeps going up. I have a small business that relies on video conferencing. We were promised consistent service, which we have not gotten. Service goes down irregularly because the 'node' has too many users or some such. I was told I could upgrade my bandwidth for free for 60 days and it would solve my problem. I upgraded, got charged after 30 days, and the problem did not resolve at all. Took an hour out of my day to get what they promised for free. Now I am being told to switch to fiber optics. Which, in fairness, should solve the problem. AND it almost doubles my bill. I would just like business interruptions to stop. I am trying to cancel my service since i am closing the office. But i cannot get through to the numbers provided. I cannot do this through chats or the on line account. The either don't pick up the phone or hang up after picking up. If there was a zero star i would give this to the company. The service was fine, customer support is worthless read more

If I could give a minus number I would. I am writing about COX Communications. If you want to spend days and days and days calling, getting cut-off, being transferred without being told, going full circle on calls, getting rude service reps, being told one thing by one person and another when you go to the store to return equipment to their store, getting equipment that doesn't work and has to be replaced, getting techs coming out and being told you will not be charged and then getting charged, than this is the "service" for you. If I have to call one more time it will be to cancel. I have dealt with this poor service for over 20 years and I will not do it anymore. I do not need this aggravation. I will no longer deal with this company. I have handed it off to my husband who insists on having live news and not wanting to change. IF YOU CAN GET ANOTHER CABLE/INTERNET PROVIDER, do so!! read more

Cox Communications is one of the worst internet & TV service provider around. The get you into an expensive package for the first 2 years & then your bill goes through the roof. I tried exploring other package deals to switch into & there was nothing to choose from to lower my bill without major service deletions. Even getting rid of my premium channel & sports package did not lower my bill significantly. I eventually buy the bullet & deleted all but basic TV & internet service in January 2024. Cox honored the deal in month one, February, but in March they increased the price above the package price I agreed to. No one could explain why the price was increased nor would they honor the package price. So I deleted all TV services & kept just the internet. However, they forced me into a package with a faster speed than my household requires. In month one of the change to just internet I got a bill with an unexplained $125 charge. When I asked about this I was told it was a charge for the DVR I needed to return. No mention of this was made when I diwngraded my services. When I inquired they said the fee was refundable but when I went to return the DVR they said the fee is NON REFUNDABLE! Cox Communications is a very dishonest company that does not care about good customer relations & is out to screw you any way they can! I recommend Direct TV! read more

I moved, Cox came to hook up but wasn't able to in my building so I didn't use Cox. Got another provider. Cox still billed me 2 months. I tried a bunch of times to get the bill reduced to zero b/c never used service which they agreed. They sent me to collection for two years over $200. CSR saw the issue, said they would fix and never did. What a pain, STOP BOTHERING ME I'm not paying for something I didn't use. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE BULLIES AND WILL OVERBILL YOU. read more

WORST CABLE COMPANY EVER! They will promise and guarantee you a 'deal' when you're on the phone with them. Then you'll notice that you have no DVR service or your internet doesn't work. When you contact them suddenly that 'deal' is gone and you have to pay more to 'restore' the services you lost (in reality Cox screwed you and didn't add them so you will now have to pay more)! Do NOT get Cox if you can avoid it. They play nasty games to rob you of your money!!! read more
