A plethora of locals keep the bar going and run the Social Club. The bar is probably the cheapest on the Cowley Road. Thursday evening hosts the very entertaining and extremely popular Catweazle Club - it's more theatre, poetry and song, than open mic (open mic just doesn't do it justice!). Friday night fortnightly there is Mishmash where local dj's encourage you bring some tunes and get on down on the dance floor. In the other room, numerous activites such as martial arts and dance take place, as well as community events and is available for private hire. Check the place out - it is constantly facing closure and needs members and support. Support it before it becomes a McDonalds or Costa Coffee!

You can find some real gems in here. My friend enjoys hunting out obscure 1930s musical scores, but it's just as good for fancy dress outfits, normal clothes, CDs, hats, books and even the odd wedding dress! Even just general clothes are quite plentiful here. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Don't fall into the trap of thinking that a shop called 'Age Concern' is full of second-hand things for old people with that distinctive charity-shop smell; it's great for presents, odd finds, or even if you just want to buy a treat for yourself without regretting spending a huge amount later.

Some charity shops are like a jumble sale, but this isn't, it is definitely worth a look They have clothes, shoes, handbags, books, toys, games and nicknacks. Everything seems in good condition. I regularly donate things to this shop, and as I drop the things off I have a quick look around to see I if can get some goodies!! The staff are very friendly and are most grateful for donations! This is a great place to pick up bargains for the kids, and yourself too, and it is nice to support such a good cause.
