The office is so sleek and modern--I couldn't stop gazing at the beautiful interior. Whoever designed it deserves multiple gold stars! (lol) Although the initial price for the intake appointment is a little higher than at other offices, Dr. Gan was very thorough in explaining the type of care I could expect. Despite also working in the medical field, I still get a case of white-coat nerves around new doctors. Dr. Gan--and most importantly, Ruby (the office mascot )--were great at easing and calming those nerves. My body has been through a lot over the years, and I have to say that the few appointments I've had have done wonders for my daily aches and pains. Dr. Gallo is the owner of this particular location and I probably see him the most because of scheduling, but I really do appreciate his manner. He feels like an old friend and he takes the time to listen to whatever is bothering me before adjusting. The interactive care I receive through him is practically unheard of. I've been coming long enough consistently that I can point out what and when something doesn't quite feel right while he's realigning me, and he adjusts on the fly to make sure my concerns are taken care of. I'm a little on the husky side (I work out regularly but i'm still fluffy) and my back and neck can get pretty stiff, but he's able to straighten me out by sheer finesse. Dr. Olinger is also equally attentive and skilled, and well versed in his own adjustment techniques that sometimes range a different approach to problematic areas with great results. BTW, I've been taking advantage of the wellness plan for years, which really comes in handy. I get 4 visits per month, and if I need to come in more, each additional visit is only $10. A few months ago I randomly woke up in excruciating pain (unrelated to my treatment) - I'm at the age where just sleeping wrong can be debilitating, and adding a little variety to my workout routine can be crippling, so who who knows what caused it? Regardless, I felt like the whole left side of my back was knotted up and I could hardly bend down or look to one side without feeling searing pain. I almost checked myself into the ER, but I hate hospitals and the Joint was closer, so I figured out couldn't hurt to get checked out. Dr. Gallo confirmed my back was all out of alignment, adjusted me as well as he could, and a majority of the pain subsided. I saw him again the next day, and then Dr. Olinger the day after, and I was back to normal within a week, only taking Tylenol and Biofreeze for the muscle pain. I'm glad I saved myself a trip to the ER and a bunch of labs, X-Rays, and strong prescription medications when a little holistic care was able to do the trick. During the X-ray, he told me I had mild scoliosis which I never knew. The thing I appreciate about Dr. G is that he'll do the adjustments a little bit each time. I can't imagine going through all those cracks and manipulation like the videos on social media. There's also a therapy room in the back for ice/heat treatment as well as a roller table. This review is for massage therapy only…read more I am in some discomfort due to tight muscles and read all the great reviews on massages at Sports & Family Chiropractic, so I made a next-day appointment for a 1-hour massage. Their website lists reflexology and deep tissue as massage modalities offered here. However, the actual massage I received was a very light Swedish. As someone who regularly gets deep tissue once or twice a month, I would rate this pressure as a 3/10. I asked for more pressure and deep tissue, but I did not get much more pressure. Before the service started, I mentioned the specific parts that were sore - my low back, glutes, IT band, neck. I did not get these areas properly addressed. For the glutes, I got maybe 5 seconds of elbow pressure per glute, over the blanket. Nothing for the IT band. Neck was light palm strokes, as was lower back, with a few forearm strokes. Most of the pressure was light surface level, and did not get into the fascia, much less any actual muscle. I am just as tight and uncomfortable as before, spent an hour roundtrip driving there and back, and also out $$ with no relief for sore & tired muscles. Free aromatherapy was offered which was a nice touch, but the massage itself and quality of touch was not there for me. I think the great massage reviews are for the previous massage therapist, who apparently was here for many years and left a couple of weeks ago. There is currently only one massage therapist working here, who started last week. I'm also dissatisfied because I arrived early for my massage, but my actual massage time was 44 minutes. My regular masseur, who does myofascial release, is located in the San Gabriel Valley, but it was too far to drive on a weeknight. I just made an appointment and will have to drive up this weekend because I'm desperate for some pain relief. So in summary - currently only one massage therapist working here and modality is light Swedish. Look elsewhere for deep tissue, sports, or myofascial release.
