I was excited to come here while in town visiting family. Ive been to the Cowabunga Bay in Henderson a few times, so I assumed it was similar. This was the smallest water park ive ever been to, with the smallest lazy river ive ever been in. It had a good size kids area, but for older kids or adults, there is not much to do. The only thing that saved the day, was that the lazy river is heated. The temperature on the day we were there was in the mid 80's and it was a little windy, so if the lazy river was cold, we probably would have left much earlier. It wasn't a terrible water park, but there is no chance I would come back here again. read more

We are a family of six with three teenagers and a 10-year-old and every single one of us had a blast! We started with the lazy river and then moved our way towards the water slides. The lines were not bad and I felt like we were able to do everything we wanted between 2:30 to 6:00. I think one more hour would have been perfect, but I'm not complaining because I was definitely drained by the time we got home. My only complaint is the super hot concrete. It was so hot trying to get from the lazy river to the water slides. I think I might have extra sensitive feet because not everyone had that issue. I think next time I'll wear some water shoes so I don't burn my feet off. I debated it at first, but I'm glad we didn't pay for a cabana because we were always in the water. We probably never would have used it. If we had a baby or small kids though, I definitely would have rented one. All in all this was a blast and we'll definitely go again. If we lived closer, I'd buy season passes. read more

Hello, We were at Cowabunga Bay in Draper today and around 12:30 a platform gave way and fell onto another slide. Luckily no one was injured but this could have caused a serious injury or even death. They kept people out for about 30 minutes and then opened everything back up. When I asked the manager about this he just claimed it was a "freak thing." He also showed me that they are concerned about another piece falling so they put a cone by it. These are heavy pieces and this just seems negligent. i hit my head on the purple slide, the purple slide was dark and scary and I never wanna go on that slide, the blue slide was fun, the green slide was fun, and the redish orangey yellow slide with a sun was fun but not for my brother he hit his head on the sun slide to make his nose bleed! the ice pop looking mat slide was fun we went all together. and the lazy river was fun but the cowabunga beach ocean had a bug in it. But all the things and slides like the only 2 person yellow slide was fun! read more

Terrible customer service, management could care less about feedback. Even when they acknowledged an issue with their billing they still did nothing to correct the issues other than explain that several people have brought up the same complaint and they are taking the feedback to work on correcting in the future. read more

We visited the park on one of the hottest days of the year in Draper. It was well known that heat would be terrible. For our group, the doors opened at 1030, even after arriving 15 minutes, we did not enter the park until 1050. So we lost 20 minutes. There is a big sign that says no outdoor food or drink. So we followed the rules. We found our spot to find 80% of people had brought their own food. We hadnt so after 2 ours the kids were hungry. The line for food was 40 minutes long. So of the 3.5 hours, we lost a whole our of recreation. Lesson learned, Bring your own food. And a strong suggestion to Cowabunfa Bay management, be better prepared with more staff. So many people left the line or never got into it due to its length. Money and Time were lost by both patrons and by Cowabunga Bay. This was Draper. Las Vegas was better equipped. Might not return to the one in Draper. read more

Update- went to cowabunga today and my son found me halfway through our visit and said a group of boys was trying to drown him and no one did anything about it. I told him to stay with me going forward. At the end of our stay we were looking for my daughter and we split up, and these boys found him again in the lazy river... I saw them surround him and hit him in the head hard. I started screaming and running to him. I found a lifeguard and yelled for her to help me bc a group of boys had just hit my son in the head. She merely turned her head and did nothing. I ran to another lifeguard begging for help. Again, dead eyes and no response. I finally caught up to my son and got him out of the water and yelled at a third lifeguard that there was a group of boys in the river attacking my son and she turned her head away from me and ignored me. This is unacceptable. What is the point of having lifeguards if they aren't defending anyone? If they won't help someone in crisis? And for three separate lifeguards to completely ignore me? I'm horrified. I'm enraged. I'm afraid for other children. read more

Coming from Texas I've been spoiled on Schlitterbahn my entire life. This is obviously an unfair comparison. But I asked the workers what their favorites were and which slides were most popular. I went on the first and I was stuck. I had to push myself down the slide until the very end. So I went on the next tallest slide and it was a little better. The biggest positives for me were the non-existent lines/wait times and the lazy river was heated which was nice in the windy weather. I would say this park is for younger kids. read more

I love this park. We come once every year as tradition. The water on one side of the park is so warm it's like taking a bath. I love it so much. The lazy river is perfect. No tubes because of the corona virus so that sucks. The water slide water on the other half of the park is FREEZING!! But that doesn't stop us from the fun. Reservations required due to Covid so the waterpark was pretty empty! We loved it. The slides are ok. There are a couple that are a bit faster that my kids go on over and over again. 10:30-2pm and 2:30-6 are the available time slots to choose from at this point (June 2020). Who knows when that will change but we felt like 3.5 hours was worth the $80 for 5 people. read more

I wanted to love it but this water park is just okay. Not great but not horrible either. Just kinda meh The price is fair for what you get. 21.99 to get in First thing we went for was the lazy river. Disappointing. The tubes were all taken and many were tossed aside half blown up and deflated. The water was warm so that was a plus. The lack of water slides and a wave pool was kinda disappointing. I found it weird that they only offer chairs that are like low to the ground the only way to use the lounge chairs to lay out and sunbath is to rent a cabana. And the chairs that are offered (that you can only sit in)are tethered together. So now I am sunburned on only the front half of my body. Lol The food wasn't so bad, it is typical water park food with waterpark food prices. Plenty of free parking It was nice to have a day to play in the water but I'm not sure we will go back. Wanted to love it so I could buy a season pass for next year but...it lacks the basics like lay down sun bathing beds and tubes for the lazy river for guests. read more

Such an amazing night at Cowabunga Bay, my kids had such a fantastic night. The water was so warm. The water slides have such a great mix of slides for little kids and faster ones even adults can enjoy. The snack bar is affordable and it has a good variety of options. It is a wonderful place for the whole family to have fun. They added a new slide this year that everyone seem to enjoy. i'm always impressed with the amount of fun. This place is surprisingly insanely fun!!! I have to admit, it does not look super knock your socks off from the freeway, but Cowabunga Bay is a little hidden gem!! There is so much fun for literally the whole family! Water slides for all ages and even the tiniest kids can sit on laps on a good amount of them! There are a couple really fast ones for the thrill seekers. There is a wading pool and lazy river, lots of seating, and even a super fun toddler area with a couple tiny slides. There is yummy food to purchase (the soft pretzels are BOMB- like way better than most commercial places). Only 2 complaints but it didn't ruin anything for me - I didn't love getting wet walking up to the slides but I think on a hot day that would be nice (we went at night for a party) - and the bathrooms were not clean. As I watched my grandkids playing in the pool backdroped by the mountains with the clouds behind them I caught myself thinking "I wonder if heaven is like a waterpark with your grandchildren, in the mountains. This place has it all, great location, low prices, inexpensive good tasting food, friendly staff, great water features, flotation devices, lockers, good music. They even have Military Appreciation Days were any service member can not only get in for free, they can bring 3 family or friends for free as well. 5 stars all the way! read more

We've been here a couple times. It's always so busy! We go midweek and still busy. Bumper to bumper in the lazy river at all times. Not enough shade or chairs. Facilities are pretty nice. Seems clean. All the employees I encountered were polite. Lockers are $6 but you can get in and out of them whenever. I really wish they'd let you bring in empty water bottles and have a water fill station. Too hot to be chugging $5 bottles of water. Conveniently for them they were out of the "cheap Dasani" water ($3.50). And yes they do check your bag for food and drink. read more

This place is the worst! They kick you out of the park everyday between 2-2:30. We forgot about that rule and got here at 1:45 pm. So got to swim for 15 min then had to stand in line outside for 30 min!! Drove all the way from provo too. Also the food is way expensive! $9 for a small dippin dots! What a rip off!!! read more

Very poor customer service!! My family and I stayed at a hotel to specifically to go to this water park for a staycation since they had to go back to school soon and we couldn't go on a vacation due to my medical condition. Party of 5 with 2 adults and 3 children, one with autism. I knew coming in that even though I could not participate in any activities, I still had to pay full price. However, my husband and I finally convinced our autistic son to try one of the water slides. He never made it to try because he stepped on something sharp, only to find out it was glass. First aid offered a band-aid (we were able to get the glass out) and asked if he was ok (they were teenagers and did a good job for what they were supposed to do). However, when I asked to make a complaint, I was referred to next door. The lady (never got her name or title) who was wearing all black with long blond hair in the "employees only" room offered to refund his ticket (he didn't want to try to go on anything else due to this injury). Now, this would have been fine and great and would have received a five star review EXCEPT in order to get the refund for him, our entire family had to LEAVE the park right that very second. When I commented on that, I was just told by this lady (who I believe was either the supervisor or manager) that they can't control if someone brings glass in and if I want the refund we have to leave "now." I declined and asked to write a formal complaint. They gave me a blank piece of paper with their letter head printed very tiny on top. Supposedly, it was going to go to the "owner." However, I'm sure that meant the trash. This supervisor was rude, unprofessional, uncaring, and seriously lacked customer service skills. Horrible service! As long as you pay them and don't bother them, you will be fine. Won't be going back read more

Absolutely the best water park I've taken the kids to. If only they could give us one in our town! The employees are incredible -helpful and so kind. It's not too crowded despite it seeming like it. If there's no chairs available then find a spot in the grass and wait for chairs to come available. The only down side was the lazy river didn't seem big enough for the amount of people who were in it. They also need more umbrella for shades. My stepmom has bad skin cancer so it's imperative she stays out of the sun. Had to wait for a spot but the employee was nice enough to get her a chair for shade. Love it here. Over priced, run down, and complete chaos. The women's bathroom has 8-10 toilets, 3 of them the locks don't works so the stall door stays open, one didn't even have a toilet seat. There was about 6 sinks but only 2 worked. The lazy river is over run with kids behaving badly and swimmers swimming underneath you. There is no enforcement of any rules. This place is similar to what I image a day care would look like if the children took over. There is not enough pool space for the amount of people here nor shade or chairs. read more

This place is super family-friendly. They have a separate area for kids that are small. The lazy river is always warm, the slides are exciting, and the lil beach pool area is the best. The food is stellar!!! Fries, pizza, and hot dogs are what we get and the refillable season mug. The parking is great, not too far of a walk. It is a fun waterpark with a good variety of slides, fun water features and water toys throughout the park, and an enjoyable (if not sometimes overcrowded) lazy river. We have visited Cowabunga Bay a few times last year and this year and we've always enjoyed it. Most of the time the half-day pass is plenty for us, after 3 or 4 hours I'm pretty well worn out and sun baked.' One of my favorite parts of Cowabunga Bay are the water features and toys throughout the park. When I go to a waterpark I want to stay cool on a summer day and not dry off all the time. Cowabunga Bay makes it possible by having water EVERYWHERE! Although some reviewers have complained about the expense of Cowabunga Bay it's worth mentioning that discounts and deals can be found. We got all day passes this year at Costco for example for only $12, half that of the standard rate! I've also seen offers on deal sites from time to time. So if the cost is an issue for you or your family look for deals, because they are out there. Is Cowabunga Bay the best waterpark in Utah? Probably not. But is a lot of fun and does it usually have less crowds and shorter lines than Seven Peaks, yes! read more

Fun place, decent food and great service (Faith was wonderful) but they really need to do something major about the wasps. They know they have nests everywhere and the poor servers rely on cans of spray to try to prevent guests from getting bothered and attacked all day. The spray does nothing. In 2 weeks we have spent $400+ here and fought off wasps on both visits nearly the entire day. Get professionals here to eliminate the nests vs making teens and 20 somethings spray to try to protect guests. The lady in the tiki next to us was stung. We will be back but really hoping to see improvements on the hornet/wasp control. read more

My kids love this place. I tolerate it. Things I don't like: 1. No outside food. Not even snacks. They allow bottled water, but anything else that they actually find if they check your bags, you are forced to take back to your car. 2. If you rent a cabana, there's a mini fridge, but with the no food rule, what's the point of the mini fridge if I have nothing to put in it because I can't bring in any drinks or food that actually needs refrigerating? 3. Their website is terrible. And their social media could really be utilized better to actually inform patrons of special deals, news and current information. 4. The water for the big slides is FREEZING! And even on the hottest day, people are shivering as they wait in line. 5. Because the water is freezing, everyone tends to crowd the shallow pool area and the lazy river because that water is heated and you're often should-to-shoulder with all of your new best friends. 6. There are clearly slippery and dangerous walk areas that they still have not remedied. There are signs warning people not to run, but because of the material used on the ground, people slip and fall ALL THE TIME just walking. It makes me so mad and I constantly remind my kids to be careful when in those areas which are high traffic areas. Things I like: 1. My kids love it and as they get older, I can let them go off with friends and I can just chill, although often with what seems like the rest of Utah because it gets so crowded. 2. There's lots of chairs and a grassy area to lay down towels and belongings. We usually don't find a place to sit, which can be annoying, but there's always the grassy area so that is somewhat of a consolation. 3. The food is decent. Since I have no choice but to purchase food there because I am not allowed to bring anything in, they have a decent selection, though pricey. There are definitely pros and cons to this place, but in the hot summer, it's nice to have it as an option. I just make sure to go on clear, sunny, hot days with very little wind if any. Cowabunga Bay is basically located in a parking lot, nothing too fancy. It is near the side of the freeway and you can see it while driving by. It's pretty hard to miss. It has colorful waterslides and fun little decorations around the area. The place looks very cute and "picture worthy". Ray and I went on a Tuesday for the 2 for $22.22 deal. We got our locker and wristbands and went into the water park. We got changed and put our items into our locker. The lockers are wristband activated, so don't lose them. We didn't know which one to go to first, so I pulled him to one of the slides I enjoyed back in 5th grade. I like the fully covered circular slides best because they go fast and they get completely dark. We went on every waterslide, even the non-covered ones, and didn't know what to do next, so we decided to try out the lazy river and just relax for a bit. There were tubes floating around the lazy river for your use. You don't have to pay for a tube, just try to find an empty one. There wasn't much to do other than the lazy river, sitting in the water, and going down the waterslides. When I came here in 5th grade with my friends, this became my favorite waterpark immediately. The park looked a whole lot bigger when I was smaller, so I was anticipating a little too much when I came back for a second time. There weren't as many slides as I remembered and the slides were not as "fast and furious" as I thought. I believe this park is more for little children than for teens or adults. I saw a lot of parents, mostly mothers, sitting by the side of the water, while their children were occupied by the slides or the lazy river. This waterpark looked more like a place for a parent to get some relaxation while the child played or just like a place for some fun family activity. I suggest to bring little children to this waterpark rather than adults or teens because you will get bored faster than the children will because there really is not much to do at Cowabunga Bay. The slides are fun for a while, but there isn't enough variety to keep people interested. read more

This very popular water park is small and manageable. But this also affects one's ability to get lounge chairs, grass or any spot to set up on if it's too crowded. The service at the food stand is friendly though slow-often taking 10 minutes to get one's order. The food itself is sub-par, tasting good enough to refuel but that's about it. The facilities are few (lockers), and the place overall could use a face lift. Still, my kids love coming here. read more
