Stopped by here for a quick meal and also wanted to try a new place. Their menu was really small, and I wish they had a few more items. The burgers were alright. The flavor of the bread took over the whole burger. I think it would've helped if they toasted the bun a little bit. I paid an extra dollar for avocado and only had three small slices on it.. We also ordered the hot wings & sweet chili wings. The hot wings were soggy, dry, and didn't taste fresh, but the sweet chili was a little bit better and saucier. Honestly, the best thing I had were their fries. It was nice and crispy. Their cookies were pretty good too. The service was okay. She did her job.. didn't look too happy to be there, but that's none of my business.

Within that 16 square miles there are over 30 various types of restaurants for it's 12,000 citizens to pick from. Multiple Mexican places, several Asian, an Italian joint, a steak joint, a couple fried catfish places, some sit down chain restaurants and almost all the fast food joints you can want. Yet some how among this dizzying array of places to eat, Road House manages to stand at the top of the list. (Shared with Sully's). Everytime my wife and I have gone we've had delicious food and great service. My favorite is the burger. The first time I had it I was amazed at the smokey flavor it had. At the time I had no idea they were smoking their beef patties at the time. My wife had the Mississippi Philly Cheesesteak which was also as amazing. Servers were attentive, very friendly and fun to talk to. Desserts were delicious and fresh as well. My only couple complaints were the restaurant was kept ridiculously cold. Even the servers said it was too cold in there for them as they shuffled around wearing hoodies. The other issue I had was it seemed like place couldn't decide if it was a casual family restaurant, or fine dining. The decor and the way the staff interacts with the tables suggest casual family restaurant. But the pricing leans more towards fine dining. This is not at all any reason why you should not eat here. And based on what i've seen recently, most patrons don't see this place the same way I do as they are consistently packed which is great! We're planning on another visit soon. I've been hankering for that burger again. Highly recommend, but bring a small coat just in case the temp is set to sub-zero again.

Went to the bar, nice big wooden bar, comfortable seating, lots of cool taps on the wall, with variety of beers.. had a little bit of nostalgia:) Bartender was very friendly, suggested a few things, we got the whole wings in Buffalo and Korean BBQ. We enjoyed them, they are meaty, and flavorful. We watched some football, enjoyed the atmosphere and would stop again if staying in the area!

The lighting is a bit dim for our old eyes but otherwise it has the feel of a pub. We loved that. Our server was very nice and helpful. We ordered the bacon cheddar fries. The fries are like a cottage fries that are then cut into strips. Perfect fry on them. The bacon could have been crispier but great flavor and a good ranch. I had the KPauls pasta. We all enjoyed it. Pasta cooked perfectly al dente. If you love a saucy pasta this isn't for you. It is nice and creamy but not swimming in it. Big plump shrimp that tasted great. Also has chunks of chicken breast and sliced sausage. Uncle Jim got the red beans and rice. Great flavor but barely warm. The catfish is a thicker cut and battered in a coarsely ground corn meal. Aunt Robin had the shrimp and grits. Those were the star of the show. So creamy and incredible flavor. Very generous amount of nice sized shrimp. Mike had the Keg Stand burger. He requested the sauce on the side. It's definitely a unique flavor. Nice soft bun. The meat was grossly over cooked but would have been tasty had it not been so dry. The onion rings that came with the burger were soggy. Overall, enjoyed it. We know what to get next time. Shrimp and grits and KPauls pasta!!

The following is true: * Food is excellent…read more* Service is friendly * Immaculately clean * OK

I'm pretty sure they could improve on almost everything. We ordered the $45 poppa's platter. So…read morewhen you see you get three plates you are thinkin this is great! We did order I believe a good 35-40 minutes prior to closing. The girl was short on the phone but even shorter in person. I myself walk in apologizing our order was late. Instead of her being friendly saying oh no I'm sorry we close so early or something to that nature she said nothing but my total. She had it all bagged up and so I figure how hard is it to pack up the needed condiments, include silverware & napkins(after all they charge you a "cc conv fee" of $2.16 for that stuff I'm assuming. She was just so like she had more important things to do than assist me. Once being a server I rarely don't tip but she left me with such a cold customer care I followed my instincts & gave nothing. As I'm outside loading my food she comes out spraying the strongest over bearing smelling spray that I guess cleans their windows that it really stood out that she was spraying in my direction on purpose. Then to get to our camper to find no condiments at all (no ketchup, no tarter, no cocktail, NOTHING) We had no silverware, No crackers & hot sauce for our coleslaw, not even salt & pepper. Now look at these pics- after separating it out this is what we got for our $44 plus tax + conv fee. Surely this is a mistake. The shrimp taste alright, lil over cooked, the fries were half twice fried & under fried, the corn was spicy and shriveled, the whole potatoes are SPICY, we had more potatoes than anything else. Plus this famous biggest platter had no oysters! Fried shrimp, fried catfish, corn on the cob, handful of boiled shrimp, whole potatoes, French fries, and stuffed crab. Which leads me to why two kinds of potatoes on this plate? In all it was ok to eat but looking at does the quality match the price? Nope, seems like we got food trailer seafood for the prices of high rise restaurants. The girl working the counter does realize you can get tipped for to go orders? Maybe put it simply serving a table is easy- you have around an hour to get things right. A to go order you get maybe 10minutes- if you can't win em over in 10mins doing the basic maybe serving isn't your best choice. Simple things like what most of your tables ask for is what we needed. Being efficient & friendly is a must. The oyster poboy was dropped off for my father in law so not sure how it was. I'm just very disappointed in spending $68 and the total experience being so under average. I do believe yall could do a lot better. Maybe consider tellin pep you don't take to go orders like an hour before closing if this is the service & food you get. It's gona be a while before I try this place again if ever. I do not recommend.

I'm not sure where to begin with this review, because we very much wanted to enjoy this restaurant,…read morebut it was not a very good experience in any sense. We were in Hattiesburg for the night and found Murky Waters through their website, which indicated through their menu, photos, prices, and their suggestion that reservations should be made that this was elevated southern barbecue. It is not. Which is fine, if that's what you're serving and charging for. But here's what we got: "Smoked ahi tuna dip" = canned tuna salad ($12.95, served with Keebler Club crackers) Ham & cheese po' boy- it was just a ham and cheese sandwich on a long roll, and the roll was cold ($13.95) My son liked the brisket, but said the Mac & cheese was not good. My family got refills on their drinks, but my drink came in a smaller glass and I didn't get a refill. We all got soda, so I'm not sure why. The restaurant is pleasant, but we were seated directly in front of the window unit air conditioner so we had to decide which one of us would be the most uncomfortable while eating. The bill was over $100. After discussing it, we all felt that we would have felt better about the entire thing if the food had been more fairly represented and priced. If you go, don't order the tuna.
