Absolutely delicious; a must try if you like fast casual, mediterranean food! STAFF are crazy friendly, accommodating, and helpful if you are between dishes. Even if they do not write down your order (such as my son's chicken dinner plate), they'll remember and bring it out to you when it's ready. The FOOD is delicious. You can tell they carefully season and layer chicken and lamb on the vertical rotisserie, despite the efficient electric 'shaver' that they use to carve the meat. Contrary to Yelper Cheryl P's experience, our lamb was tender and tasty. Falafel was beautiful and has a solid crust on the outside (that their plasticware struggles to get through). You can't go wrong with the Loukoumades to conclude. Delish! One Yelper suggested this is a Middle East subway? A better categorization is fast casual as there is some cooking, customization, and table delivery. Yes there's a line with the sliced vegetables, prepared sauces, etc. In a traditional, sit-down restaurant, that's still happening (you just can't see into the kitchen). NOTE: I do agree with Yelper, Steve M., prices are higher than most. I would argue it's A) the quality of ingredients, B) the made to order dishes, and C) environmental packaging for bowls (...although the rest are styrofoam). This spot has had a few places in the same space that don't last long. I was happy to see a Mediterranean place back in the spot. I stopped for a take out lunch. The usual, salad, gyro meat and toppings. I do not think they get a lot of business as it was quiet when i was there during lunch and only one other customer on this day at least. The woman who took my order was nice. She even tried to make sure I didn't get the dried out meat by cutting a lot of the outside to get to better offerings but unfortunately, it was still at least half. So tried removing the dry pieces as I went which quickly got old. The garlic sauce was okay. A bit watery to me which diluted the flavor. I will say the feta was delicious. read more

Was excited to try this place and decided to place an order Online through their website with 2 other coworkers. We placed order at 327pm with scheduled pickup time of 445. Order went through with payment and confirmation with a provided order number of #49. Arrived at the location by scheduled time and according to staff, order initially was unable to be found. Gave the staff the order name and order number and staff was still confused. Provided the photo of receipt sent via email and all of a sudden they located the order. Now its 529pm and the order is still not ready. The order included 3 dinners which seemed to be easily navigated in selecting via THEIR website. The order was finally ready at almost 545 nearly an hour after the scheduled time. Then the staff said their system shows the order being made yesterday which doesnt make sense as one can clearly see on photos posted with todays date. Now to the order-there were several sauces selected with two of the salad orders which came in the bag unmarked and half appeared the same with one clearly missing. We played the guessing game as all sauces were in one bag. The food was good however the service that came with this meal order left the bad experience. It was asked if something could be done to offset this mixup and for the inconvenience and the staff placed a single serving size dessert in the bag that three people would be able to spoon taste. A while back, my wife & I had lunch at Covo Mediterranean in Munster and it was amazing!!! She tried their Salmon Bowl consisting of grilled salmon, chickpeas, Romain lettuce, onions, hummus with their Covo finding sauce. I tried their Skepasti which is 2 grilled tortillas sandwiches with beef & lamb mixture, feta cheese, tomatoes, mixed peppers, some of my wife onions and their Yaya finishing sauce with seasoned fries. In my opinion this place needs a visit from the inspectors and a thorough cleaning. The food prep area had layers of stuck on grease everywhere. The kind that's been around for months built up and looked sticky. I witnessed the counter help push spilled food back into the tray she was working from. Eating area needed cleaning scuffed up walls sticky seats and tables. Needless to say we left without eating. I am surprised at what I witnessed considering the location and the pictures posted. read more

My second time here and I am once again disappointed. They never seem to have anything I want available. My first trip I was going to order the Greek Olympus burger. They did not have any patties so I ended up ordering a pita. My daughter also wanted the Dubai strawberries shown on a big sign when you walk in but those were available either. They gave me my food on the house since they didn't have what we wanted so it was no big deal. I went in today because I had a Greek chicken dinner and since they have the chicken breast dinner which pretty much is supposed to have the same sides, I ordered that. After waiting for what seemed like forever, I get my food, go home and open it only to find they had given me fries instead of Greek potatoes, one of the main things I wanted. They didn't let me know they didn't have the potatoes and give me the option to choose something else, just substituted with fries and sent me on my way. I just feel like they could've at least let me know they didn't have the potatoes. I might've just ordered a bowl at that point. read more

Once I forgot to order a protein and the server reminded me by making a suggestion. I'm sorry to hear others didn't have the same experience, but I hope they give them a second chance. Absolutely delicious! The portion sizes are huge and you really get your money's worth in addition to how good the food is. The only complaint I have is I tried the Greek potatoes and they did tasted pretty bland. Otherwise the bowl itself was so good and I love how much variety you can have! Ugh I had such high hopes that place would be similar or better than Simply Greek which was in this location two restaurants ago. Unfortunately it's neither similar or better. Let's start with the price was high. $19.24 for a wrap, fries, and soft drink. No ice in the drink machine. No taste in the food. Lots of options to choose from but very little taste in those options. I got the beef and lamb off the spit and there was a ton of grease in the wrap. I mean lots of grease. Added a bunch of toppings and tzakiki sauce and even then no taste. The place is nicely decorated. The service was good but I agree with the first person they used gloves to scoop all the toppings but then wore those same gloves to work the register and then go back to help another person. Once again... the food is terrific and a great value with the Tuesday Bowl Special for $8. However, as is frequently the case, they were not ready at opening time of 11am. A woman with a very thick (i.e. not understandable) accent said the meat would not be ready for 10 minutes and then revised it to 20 minutes. So I ordered a few things from Cobo Mediterranean on last Friday evening. I will say the food was very fresh tasting and very good The choices were also very nice. This will be my go to spot on my way home. Fresh and healthy to a point. The location is in Indiana in the Hammond area and it was a little difficult to get into but once you figured it out, you were good. This food was some of the worst food I have ever had! The falafel was so salty I couldn't even eat it. The rice was either old or under cooked in both my daughter's bowl and mine and in either case it was so hard it would crunch while you chewed it. And I got an additional side of it. The pita and hummus tasted like cleaning solutions. And that was a replacement for them not having grape leaves. I was grateful for the accommodation. The containers were so flimsy the lids didn't stay on! Not to mention I was missing half my order. Honestly with how this tasted I'm not too mad about it. In addition they didn't get my order so my husband had to tell them by mouth what I ordered because it didn't come through toast.com and they still missed some of my stuff. I will say they did accommodate us however and just believed us without a lot of hassle however their food was not good and their lobby was not full. Now we know why. read more

My husband and I ate there for an early dinner last night. The food was excellent (although the greens for the salad needed to be changed out as much of it looked slimy) and the portions were huge! The one staff member was friendly and helpful as this was our first time. The eating area had food on the floor and was smeared on the floors as well - there was no one in the restaurant except us. The vent hood above where the food is prepared had fingerprints on it and greased smeared on it as well. The bathrooms were quite gross unfortunately. There was no soap or toilet paper in the men's bathroom. There was no toilet paper in the women's rest room - just a roll of paper towel on the floor by the toilet. The women's bathroom looked like it had not been cleaned in a very long time. There were various things smeared on the walls near the base boards and under the changing table. The floor was very dirty as well as the faucet handles. The door handle to the bathroom was covered in dried food and grease. read more

Extremely disappointed with service, just walked. Waited 10-15 mins at the counter and the girl behind the counter never acknowledged us and was making someone else's order. I understand that she might have been the only person working but common curiosity would be to look up and say that she'd be with us in a minute instead of ignoring us. There were only three other people sitting in the restaurant and nobody else but me and my daughter in line this is probably why this restaurant has no business. Tried this place for the first time. Have to say we were not impressed at all with the food. We ordered the veggie plate. It says it has a Greek salad but there was no feta cheese or olives. The falafel were dry and had no flavor. I'm pretty sure they get them frozen and are not made fresh daily. I think mine were leftover from yesterday and refried. The Greek potatoes were dry. The babaganoush was terrible. I've had it at other places and it didn't taste like this. They do not have any tahini sauce which is a staple for this type of menu. The only things edible were the grape leaves and the pita bread. There was no soup or desserts available. How can you open your doors and not be ready for service. I'm being critical because I'm Greek and my wife is middle eastern. This is not the kind of food we grew up eating. If you want authentic middle eastern food take the drive to Pita Inn. They have several locations in the north suburbs. It's a shame they're passing off this food as "Mediterranean". We threw the food and headed to Pita Inn. read more

Covo is the third attempt to make a go of it in this space. Unfortunately I do not see that happening. The room badly needs refurbishing and the restrooms are filthy. Despite promoting a BOGO pita campaign staff knew nothing about it. Meat off the cones was dry and the tzatziki sauce somehow managed to have zero flavor. Trash cans were nearly full despite no one else in the place with us around 11:30. Coke and unsweet tea were "out". Soup was listed on the online menu but not offered at the store. This wasn't the worst part: the lamb was like shoe leathers, the pita bread was tough as cardboard, food handling was poor (food spilled on the prep counter wasn't wiped up as they prepared the next order), & restaurant, especially the bathrooms, were dirty (crumbs, straw wrappers, plastic beverage lid tops on the floor, & bathrooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned in 48 hrs). We ordered through DoorDash because of my husband's back nerve problems and only half of our food was delivered. A few minutes later we received a refund for the undelivered items because our second dinner option was out of stock (chicken breast dinner as well as the dessert we ordered). They should have canceled the entire order because now 45 minutes later we find out that one of us isn't getting dinner. We should have been given the option to select another entree or cancel the order and get dinner from elsewhere. I also feel that if the restaurant doesn't stock menu items, they should only be offered as specials.
