Andrew was friendly and upfront about costs. He went over every part of the roof and anything that needed to be addressed. However.. He sent people over to my house at night without letting me know, I asked him not to do this- as I'm a female living alone. (which he did send guys here again, at nighttime with no notice). They decided to pick up the trailer at night, and damaged my retaining wall. In the morning, when I woke to find the damage, there was no messages on my phone from him. When I called, he said he "forgot to give me a call". The guys came out, without notice, at night, to fix it.. right before a rainstorm.. not the smartest. Next, if you expect that the roofing nails will not be found all over your yard since the contract says they run a magnet, well, so far I've found about 40. Stated on the contract, it does say things need to be removed from the walls... but I didn't think about ceiling light fixtures. Two panels broke, and again response was, "it's in your contract we're not responsible." Ok, I get that.. my fault.. Now, this is where I became more frusterated after all the other issues. They damaged two seperate parts of my gutters that DID NOT leak previously. Yes, they were old, but they wern't dagmaed. Again, when I let Andrew know, he said "it's in the contract we aren't responsible to damage to gutters". If you want an affordable roof, go with this company. However, be aware that you will likely have to deal with a series of issues afterward. Because between the retaining wall, my $300 ceiling light that can't be fixed, my gutters being damaged and a flat tire from the nails.. I'm very disappointed in Andrew. Also, if you expect him to be the lead on the crew and to be here to communicate with, as him employees don't speak english.. he won't be.

tl;dr: Lots of great reviews about Family Roofing and Louis and I agree, they did the work as…read moreagreed and did an excellent job cleaning up for a more than fair price in my opinion. A little more detail: Our house is over 20 years old, original roof shingles. This year the weather has been consistent with high winds, lots of thunderstorms, and some hail. I found some of the architectural shingle tabs in the yard and the shingles have a bit of curl along the edges. I checked out several roofers and they are all very busy. After meeting with a few I chose Family Roofing. Louis came out and we had a walk around the house. He pointed out all of the details of the work his crews perform according to their contract. Everything lined up with what I was looking for, so we picked out a color that closely matched our original shingle color. It took several weeks before his crew could come out. Lots of houses getting new roofs this year. There was a bit of a communication problem one day when I called for an update which was cleared up the next time we talked. He ordered the shingles and had them dropped off in our driveway as per our previous conversations. Louis called after about a week and said that they would be out the next day so I moved our cars to make room for them. They started work before 7am by covering the ground/patio/plants, then started removing the shingles. Yep that's loud in the house but that's normal. They had the roof off in about an hour and started laying down the paper. I had to take my wife to a doctor's appointment and when I came back they were starting to lay down the shingles. They finished up with debris cleanup and dragging a huge magnet in the yard about 6 or 7pm. All in all it worked out very well for us, took a while during a very busy season for all of the roofers, and now we have a new, safe roof! Thank you Louis and Miguel!
