I cannot speak highly enough about Cover Me Green Roofing. We bought our first house near LBX about year ago. We had that big storm early Sept., '26 and the rain started pouring in through our ceiling. We looked through our home records and found this company installed this roof just over 5 years ago...so it shouldn't be worn out by now. They sent 4 different crews and the owner, Craig, himself to inspect our roof and make sure everything was right. They are friendly, hard-working and I just appreciate the integrity and assurance they showed us. read more

I have an enclosed patio with a flat roof that needed replacement after 20 years of use. I was referred to Cover Me Green by a neighbor who had had a good experience. Jerry and Craig of Cover Me Green were unfailingly responsive and the crew they employed did an excellent job. Workmanship was FIRST rate. Minimal noise and they left the worksite spotless. Only signs they were here was a sparkling new roof. Highly recommend Cover Me Green, excellent quality and service! read more

They were thoughtful and considerate in discussing the work to be done and quick to do the work and give me a letter for my insurance company. I was very happy with them. read more

We needed a report for our insurance company. They came out promptly, were professional and friendly. Their estimate to re-roof our house was very straight forwrd, listed all important procedures. Their explanations as to the problems were clear. Their estimate was very resonable. read more

Another flakey roof company. I understand that companies get busy and have trouble taking in work, but don't ghost customers. Be honest. Say you're too busy and can't take the job or give an estimated lead time. read more

A neighbor suggested Cover Me Green Roofing and I called. Very responsive. Polite on the phone. Fast appointment scheduled for estimate of work needed for a leak, over the interior front door. Gave detailed estimate and fixed it on the spot! Before the next rains When you find a great company it's good to share. Especially during these times. One and Done read more

So the plus side first. My roof was leaking during the last heavy rainfall we had for days. I had two contractors attempt to fix over the last year but still leaked. Cover me Green sent a team over the same day I called which is amazing. However, it's been not so great since. It leaked again a few days later and they came back to put more sealant on. I had two other roofing companies come out to give me quotes for the more long term fix. Both told me that the sealant was done really sloppy around my HVAC unit (where water was coming in thru). Now, my hvac wasn't installed properly by prior owners. And I appreciate Cover me Green patching it however they got sealant well beyond the area where the water was coming in. It's sloppy and also has made it really difficult to lift the hvac to properly seal if I opt to go that route with a different company to properly fix. I also asked multiple times for a quote for a long term fix and never received it. I have emailed, called and left messages. Like another reviewer stated, poor correspondence is indicative of the quality of work. read more

Refused to follow up on leaks despite promising a response- several times. Unprofessional

Doesn't show up for appointments. Looked him up on CSLB.CA.GOV He has issues that involved the state licensing board including attempting to obtain LARGE deposits from customers before work is started. Law is max 10%. Got back to us a couple weeks after 2 no shows. Told him to go ahead and measure roof for estimate. His bid was similar to others, but what do you think he wanted upfront? Yup, a 27% deposit !! We contracted with someone else. read more

Came out to measure roof within days of initial contact. Initial bid received. I called, texted, and emailed to contract for work. No response. Be aware that a pattern of nonresponsiveness js a very bad sign if any follow-up work is needed. Nice guy, but poor follow-through. read more

My garage had been leaking for quite some time, got several bids from reputable, local roofing contractors. Craig came out the same day I called for the bid, emailed it to me that evening. His promptness impressed me. I had to have a few other things done to the house first, so that delayed his start. Once I gave him the go ahead, they had a cancellation at another job, and fit me in. They were quick, cleaned up very well after, very pleasant guys (if I had to do that for a living, I would not be so pleasant, lol). Also, after removing the old roof, they realized additional work needed to be done - two huge beams needed to be installed, and also several new sections of my exposed wood ceiling in the adjacent office. NO EXTRA CHARGE! His estimate indicated that some structural work would be required, but this was above and beyond what was expected. COVER ME GREEN ROOFING was an excellent choice. Responsive, fair pricing, excellent work, ethical --- no reason to call anyone else! read more

We needed the roof done on a small unit behind our house - a contractor friend recommended Cover Me Green and we are so thankful they did! Craig and Jerry were both an absolute pleasure to work with from choosing the shingle covers, to scheduling (they did our roof less than a week after my initial call!), and everything else. Their crew was professional and made quick work of the project, but did so with attention to detail. We've gotten so many compliments on the new roof, we can't wait until the help us with our home and garage in the future as well. Highly recommend Cover Me Green Roofing! read more

Our garage roof center beam cracked in 3 places due to old age, prior owners cutting out rafters and the rain we had. We called about 4 roofing companies and heard back from 3 who said they where to busy and couldn't take on another job. A week after I called Cover Me Green roofing I get a random call from Craig saying he was busy due to rain and was just getting back to me. We had no rain for a week prior to my call to him or until he called me, just fyi. STRIKE ONE! He then says he will come on out and do a bid. We wait and no response. I call him again a few days later and get a response oh yeah... well how about I stop by this weekend. Comes by assess the damage and advises it can be done. We wait another couple days for the bid and email him again. He then writes it up and sends it over. (Are you seeing a pattern?) The bid was perfect and in line with what we can afford and a little below other bids. Since he was such a nice person, pleasant to talk to and the bid was detailed, we figured lets hire him. We wait another week with no response, more emails sent to get a response. His response, "I am looking into time to get you on my books." This goes on for about 2 weeks. STRIKE TWO! In my email to him 2 weeks prior to getting him to respond, I let him know of a 3 day weekend coming up and I will make myself available if he can do it. Since we had no response, I made other plans for Valentine's day and the day following. Well, we finally after a month get him to commit to a day. Mind you, this whole time our roof is being held up by a make shift wedged 2 by 4 holding up the center beam. Anyway, the day he commits to just so happens to be Valentine's Day. So we cancel our plans for leaving town so we can get this done. WELLLLLLLLLLLL,,,,,,,, Friday night 7pm we are home watching T.V. and we get an email.. NOT A PHONE CALL, an email saying my guys wanted a 3 day weekend so we wont be doing to job tomorrow morning at 9am. WHAT???!!! NOT EVEN A 24hr NOTICE?? We just set this up the day before and confirmed the 3 day weekend and he said no problem! STRIKE THREE YOU'RE OUT! We send him a very frustrated and unhappy email with no response until Sunday. He then states to us, yeah sorry about that but maybe I can round up 4 guys to do the job on Monday but just so you guys know I need some well deserved time off so I will be gone Tuesday, Wed and Thursday. OK REALLY? So he doesn't know if he can get workers to do the job but we should put our lives on hold again and HOPE he shows up, BUT also if they don't get the job done we have to wait until he comes back from vacation???? HELL NO! Craig seems like a very nice man but as a business man, he should be fired! His disregard for keeping a schedule is simply unacceptable. I do believe his business relies on the large commercial roofing jobs and not residential. It is a shame he has no business ethics because we have several friends waiting to see how our roofing is so they can do theirs. He would have had at least 3 referrals. Do yourself a favor and don't chose him unless you have all the time in the world for him to show up and complete the job. What a shame! read more

I tried calling, emailing, contacting through Yelp ... annnnnd nothing! Guess I'll strike this one up to another flakey roofer. Don't worry, Craig - you're not alone. read more

I had numerous "pinhole" leaks and what looked like a "skylight" from raccoon and/or possum damage in my wood shake roof that caused rain water to leak through my air conditioning vent. Craig called me two days after I left a message and came out the following day. His wonderful worker, Auggie, who has been with the Company for 17 years, completed the "tune-up" repairs in a matter of days before the next rainstorm hit. These guys are the best! Just be prepared to have the work done when they call because they are very busy. read more

We've used Craig on 3 occasions--the first time an emergency (middle of a major rainstorm situation), then for re-roofing the garage, and then our house. With the exception of the emergency, I got other quotes, which were higher. I've been very impressed with the work in all 3 cases. The fact that I can support a local business while getting great service is another bonus! read more

A shout out to "Cover Me Green Roofing" Traditional & Green Roofing Systems. They saved me from my leaky roof, did it quickly, neatly and Craig the owner was super nice, and didn't try to do the "you need an entire new roof.." If you need work on your roof, give him a call. (And he was here early!) read more

So how often do you neighbors call to thank you for having such considerate roofers? How often do you have to tell workers to stop cleaning up because they actually are leaving the area so much cleaner (and organized) than they found? Both of these things happened with Cover Me Green. Craig and the crew work fast, so a great job and leave the area sparkling! Between the rain and my hectic travel schedule, we went back & forth for months before we moved forward with the project. He's good and he gets busy but when it came together, it was a great experience. I highly recommend! read more

We were selling our house and the realtor got a quote from Cover Me Green that was a little less then what we had been quoted by other reputable roofers. They got the new roof on promptly, helped us with some facia issues and cleaned up the place nicely when they were done. Craig and Jerry communicate well and are a pleasure to deal with. read more

There aren't enough stars for how great their service was. Hands down the best company you could call. Extremely response, fast appointment, unbelievably fair priced and they went over and above the work we needed done. In my opinion, Craig Van Duren, owner of Cover Me Green Roofing, is the best roofer in all of LA and Orange Counties. Not only does he stand behind his own work, he will repair the work of other roofers and stand behind his repairs. I've used his services since about 2001--first to repair a leaky roof after the original roofer wouldn't return my calls, then to replace my rental building roof, and mostly recently to replace the roof on my house. He has always done quality work at the best prices. read more

Based on the reviews I expected a reputable company who is diligent enough to return a phone call. After receiveing my estimate, I called Craig and the office several times to set up a roof replacement and never received a call back. Don't waste your time with this company! read more

Disappointed- not even a call back. Trying to support local business as a Long Beach resident. I had to call someone in Torrance to replace sky light. Left two messages and no return call. read more

I had Cover Me Green Roofing recently re-roof my mom's house. the full job of taking off all the old shingles, and installing a brand new roof. The guys were all very courteous and the price was very fair. She was very happy with them and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others! read more

I had a good time working with Craig and his team. They were not the lowest quote I got, but the price wasn't too bad, and it was an "all inclusive" price. Basically, other roofers will quote the roof and then in the small print will add charges by the linear or square foot for rotted wood replacement, fascia, etc. Craig gave one price and stuck to it, even with all the rotted wood that needed replacing and some fascia work. That was nice. The team was on time and worked quite diligently. They also cleaned up very nicely, and even hauled some other trash to landfill out from some other work I had going on, and saved me the hauling fee. But in the end what matters is the roof, and I have no complaints. Craig's team are craftsman, and did a great job on the details, including an area of flat roof which required torch down, shingle layering at the slope intersections, sealing on two skylights, addition of a new set of passive louvres for the attic, replacement of the whirlybird, etc etc. They even sprayed the various penetrations and standpipes to match. The roof really looks great, and most importantly Craig came through on both his schedule and his quoted price. I will definitely recommend him to friends or family that need a roof done. read more

Fair and dependable!! The workers are safe, efficient, and they keep a clean job site. We have multiple properties and Cover Me Green is our roofer. Thank you read more

Craig just finished a 20 unit (2 buildings) project for me in Long Beach. Craig was very responsive from our initial call until the job was done. His professional experience and advise on our building lead us to the decision to have him do the job. Cover me Green is also very competitive on price and did more than what was in the contract and did not hit us for extras. When I replace the roof on my personal residence Craig will be the first person I call. read more

We had a good experience with the company 3 years ago when they repaired a roof for us. But this is not the current experience. We left numerous messages for Craig to help with a roof/stair repair issue, and did not receive a call back for a week+. He finally came out and gave us an estimate to repair the damage. We called back approving the estimate and requesting that work begin ASAP as we had a small leak in the house in the area of the requested repairs. It has now been 3 weeks and we have never heard from him or his company. I would expect a call advising that he could not or did not want do the repair or schedule for work to begin. This is very poor customer service and will never call Cover Me Green again. read more

Our families 8 unit apartment building was in dire need of a new roof. Cover Me Green was referred to us by our property managment company. We did obtain other roofing bids but chose Craig Van Duren and Cover Me Green roofing because he didn't try to up-sell us and we felt he could meet our roofing needs and budget. Craig and his crew were very professional. They arrived on-time (and even early). They were respectful to our tenants, and cleaned up the job site at the end of each day. Craig stuck to the schedule and was finished on-time ( the job took 3 1/2 days), he returned every call I made and answered every question ( and there were many, lol), I had before and after the job. He was also very accommodating to my last minute request to add a layer of smooth roofing around the perimeter and critical areas to provide extra insurance against leaks in the future (we have a flat roof :-( ) Our roof looks amazing! I definitely recommend Cover Me Green and owner Craig Van Duren. read more

Craig and his team did a wonderful job. They not only fulfilled everything they mentioned in the quote but was willing to check out the roof on the main house for a few maintenance tasks (Sealing past work/painting). This is the second time we have used Craig for our roofing issues. Nine years ago it was nearly all new roofing. This time it was repairs. He and his crew do first rate work, they show up on time, clean up really well and provide very detailed quotes and invoices. We do not think there is a better roofing company. read more

These guys are great! They were on time, hard-working, and left my place cleaner than it had been when they arrived. They did a great job for the price they quoted. It was the single smoothest transaction ever. The roof is great and I've had no problems. I found out this company is used and referred by several local real estate professionals as well. I asked the roofers if they wanted me to get some lunch but the boss had already called - he arrived with lunch just a few minutes later. I was impressed by the boss and by the relationship he's developed with the team. For top notch honest roofers, I recommend Recover Roofing without reservation. read more
