Unlike other fitness studios/apps, if you are a direct member of Pure Barre, you CANNOT cancel your membership on the app. They ask that you call your studio. Your studio then SENDS YOU A CANCELLATION FORM that you must sign - The cancellation form fine print is attached as a photo here - YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR A WHOLE ADDITIONAL MONTH AFTER STATING YOU WANT TO CANCEL. 2. Upon signing up, I was told that it was a month-to-month and at no point was I told of a MINIMUM 3 MONTH COMMITMENT because I would NEVER have signed up in that case - YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THE THREE MONTHS IF YOU CHOOSE TO CANCEL WITHIN THAT TIME FRAME. 3. They change the schedule and programming on a whim. If you're a creature of habit and like a specific class style/type, there is no guarantee that you will continue to be able to maintain that in your schedule. 4. I have personally witnessed participants on occasion come into class even 10 mins late. I was about 5 mins late to class on a Saturday morning and found the studio to be locked on the outside and no one present at the front desk to open the door. This was absolutely ridiculous. Now they will say it is their policy to not allow participants in after 3 mins but why some are an exception and why some days are different is a whole other question. - BE CONSISTENT AND BE FAIR TO ALL. 5. Pure Barre puts on a great pretense of being "a community" but at the end of the day, their policies and practices simply do not align with fair treatment and community values. They are a corporation that simply wants to get a hold of your credit card information so they can continue to swipe it for a minimum of 4 months.

Jeri Ann, the owner, is a very knowledgeable teacher with a fun and caring personality. She provides individual attention to each student, even in a group class. I leave class feeling like I just had a great workout even we do very small movements. Jeri Ann really understands how to communicate with her students. The studio is small and has a great energy. It's clean and comforting and very PURPLE, which I love. Mats and props are provided, so you don't have to worry about lugging around equipment. All of the equipment is cleaned at the end of class. Jeri Ann offers group classes and one-on-one sessions. I've only taken her group classes, but I know people who take private classes think she's wonderful. StraightUp has a really cool reformer apparatus for private sessions so you can get an even deeper workout that's even more gentle on the body. I'm excited about taking more classes at StraightUp and encourage everyone to take advantage of the first class for $10 special!

You can't just cancel easily online like most modern memberships. It feels like customer service is an escape room with monthly billing attached. The entire system is designed to trap people into continuing payments. For a company designed around wellness, the cancelation experience creates unnecessary stress and a bad taste. People should NOT EVER join club pilates because canceling is exhausting! You could be literally dying and can't walk and they still wouldn't cancel your membership, they will just keep charging you. It's insane, They claim there's "nothing" they can do to work with you but I do know that's not true. They canceled an individual I know with NO PROBLEM, no questions asked they just canceled her membership so I don't understand why it's such an ordeal. I've also heard from plenty of other people after my experience how AWFUL Club Pilates actually is and why they all left Club Pilates. Of course I find this out after the fact that I joined and try to cancel. I will NEVER and DO NOT RECOMMEND Club Pilates for anyone. They are overpriced and the customer service is terrible!!!
