I paid 180$ for a cake that she put the wrong filling in and she wont return my calls!!! This place was recommended to me by a friend so I had high standards for this place. This happend a little less than a month ago . It was my daughters first birthday and I went all out for it. I knew what kind of cake I wanted. A three teard yo gabba gabba cake. I called to make my appointment for a consultation and it was a game of phone tag with her, and once she never even called me back. So anyways I Made my appointment with her and I ordered the cake. Top tear was to be vanilla with fresh strawberries. Middle tear was to be chocolate with white chocolate gnash. And the bottom tear (which myself and tons of people were looking forward to) was to be cream cheesecake with cream cheese filling. I went to go pick up the cake and it looked AMAZING! 180$ well spent , so I thought. As I cut and passed out the bottom tear that everyone was dying to try, my friend came up to me and told me it tasted like lemon. So I tried a piece and sure enough, it was lemon. So I stormed off and called couture cakes and left a message telling the lady what happend and told her that I wasn't too happy that it was lemon, and I asked her nicely to call me back and we could work something out. Maria made my wedding cake last year. The cake was AMAZING; I wrapped the top layer and froze it (per tradition) and when my husband and I had it for our anniversary, it was still good! At our tasting appointment, she was understanding when my then-fiance (now husband) had to step out to take care of an important business thing over the phone. She was so fantastic and the cake was so delicious that my parents used her for my grandmother's 80th birthday cake in June. It was shaped like a Chinese takeout box and everyone at the birthday party was amazed by how much of it was edible (one person even tried the fondant fortune cookie!). Again, a delicious cake. Located in an offbeaten path in the very corner of a rundown plaza next to Dominos and Senor Burrito. It took me half an hour to find this place. Partially because the location is so obscure and 6th Ave is a one way street (I may have learned this the hard way... oops) but mostly because I'm just terrible at directions. even with a gps. So I can't hold that against them. Anyway, I was only planning on trying the strawberry shortcake cupcake, but when the anticipation builds up like that you're tempted to try everything on the menu. I think they mostly cater and take special orders for wedding cakes, cuz this place is tiny and they only had a small selection of cupcakes for the day. I went ahead and got a half dozen. I only tried to strawberry, key lime, and red velvet cuz none of the others looked too appealing. ($2.50 each, $12 for 6) I was really looking forward to trying the key lime cupcake, but it turned out to be exactly the same batter as the strawberry one just with a different frosting!! The key lime frosting didn't taste very lime-y either; I was so disappointed :(. The strawberry cupcake was slightly watery which made me wonder if it was really made that morning. All the frosting kind of tasted the same... sickly sweet and kind of gritty. The cupcakes themselves tasted eerily similar to the Betty Crocker white cake mix. I have been meaning to write this review for some time now! Couture cakes has made 4 BEAUTIFUL, DELICIOUS cakes for me and every single one has been very memorable. This time around I had a rush request and she was able to make it quickly and deliver it to my home! Great customer service! I simply provide her a picture of a cake design and she is able to replicate it exactly as it is shown! Check out some of the cakes she has made for me in the pics I uploaded. I had the pleasure of having one of these Delicious Fondant cakes last weekend. I attended my cousin's baby shower and this beautiful, artistic cake was there. It was not only beautiful, but quite tasty too. The inside was a raspberry layered yellow cake. The outside was made with a blue fondant frosting with an amazing, intricate design of a baby boy on top laying on a chocolate wafer. I tried this cupcake place and my favorite cupcake is the key lime crunch. The frostisng is perfect and the graham cracker garnish makes it even better! The vanilla cupcake is not too sweet and moist and crunchy. The cakes on display are amazing and this place has a homey small town feel not like a touristy chain type store. read more

I postponed the cake delivery till further notice after an unexpected funeral, when I called back to reschedule on a Thursday morning for Sunday delivery, they said they were unable to do so. They offered me no options except that they would be keeping 25% of the total price, if I wanted to cancel the order, which was never mentioned to me at any point of the consultation. Aside from the fact that they are extremely overpriced, it would have been nice if they even seemed like they cared for their customers and offered me other options. I contracted Couture Cake to make my wedding cake. All the instructions abouth what I wanted were given to Rachel. I asked for a tasting date to make sure the order was accurate. Until then, everything was as requested. I asked them to put a red ribbon for decorating the cake and they put a pink one. Saddly enough, the moment the cake was served at the wedding, the flavors for the cake were not the ones I ordered and the cake was dry and burned. This ruinned my night. I called Couture Cakes to let them know about my disappointing experience and Rachel said the owner offered to give me a $30 credit for future purchases at the store and $30 credit to the bank card. My sister paid over $300 for that cake. I asked them why did this happend and Rachel answer was, "We made a mistake." The cake was my sister wedding gift to me and my husband. The one shot Couture Cake had to prove me their skills was this one wedding cake. I'll not make use of the $30 store credit. I belive, the business owner could have tried to handle this in a professional way by reaching me personally to give me an explanation or an apoligy and show more interest for me as a customer.
