Amazing pasty's! Would grab one any chance I could get when I lived near there after hitting the gym!

Actually their pastry is pretty good and cheap. Reminded me about empanadas that I had in Chile.

What's not to love about this place?…read more The bread is awesome. The staff friendly & know their products. Oh. One complaint. They don't do their focaccia's on weekends anymore. Boo to that. Love love love Iggy's!!! Thursday's are my favourite where the Serbian lady makes her pita. Apple, sauerkraut, pumpkin & feta, spinach & feta & whatever else this beautiful lady comes up with. I'll taste everything of hers!!! Although Iggys aren't officially open on Mondays, there's work going on and the doors are open. There's leftover bread which is sliced. Cost is half price + slicing & packaging fee. There's an honesty box for you to leave your money in there. Other products are available for purchase. Best of all, the staff are happy to chat to inform customers on What's happening. I feel so fortunate to be able to live so close and small it a go-to local. Sooooo unpretentious. Rate in the Eastern suburbs!!

But today I was in a rush and was passing Boulangerie Patisserie, I saw sausage rolls and had an uncontrollable temptation (yes I was THAT hungry). I am relieved to say though that the sausage roll was really very good. It seemed to have been made with some sense of standards, it seemed to have actual discernable meat inside it was tasty and it didn't appear that it might have been sitting there a few days, but instead seemed fresh! It brought back the old sausage roll and tomato sauce memories from my childhood. I might go back for another.

Sister shop of Bourke Street Bakery, this joint has all the goodies that BSB sells but without the line. Perfect croissants? Tick. Delicious sausage rolls? Tick. Amazing potato, rosemary nigella seed sourdough? Oooooh yes tick! The shop is all white walls, blackboards and large panes of glass - definitely fit out for the Eastern Suburbs crowd. Being tucked out of the way from the crowds, it's a great space to chill out with a book. The only fault (if you can even call it a fault) is the coffee. Not that it's bad, it's just not blow-your-mind amazing like everything else around it. But seriously, get the potato, rosemary nigella seed sourdough - only available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays but worth the wait. Oh wait, there is no wait - there's no line...

I think so many people decide to set up shop here because of the language school next door. But Central Baking Depot seems to be the only one in recent years to realise that students don't have money! They've accordingly set up a nice affordable café-bakery and not only is the food cheap but it's actually really good! They were awarded best café/bakery by the SMH Good Café Guide and their single origin coffee is the best I've had in Bondi Junction. The open shop-front is a pleasant place to watch the world go by before being assailed by shoppers in Westfield... or if you're lucky pick up a foreign student!
