I wouldn't run away, but I wouldn't stay either. Booked a room for a business trip of two nights. Check-in when fine until I was told in the elevator that the water was out. Not by staff, but a guest. Why wouldn't you tell a guest at check-in? Give them the option to maybe change then? When questioned, I was told I could leave and wouldn't be charged. So why wait. Other than this, which I assume is rare, the rooms are dated and the bathroom has staines on the walls. Maybe in a pinch, but won't be a top pick in the future. read more

I've stayed here a few times and have been impressed by the cleanliness, the comfy bed, the water pressure in the shower and the friendliness of the staff. I travel for business a lot, so finding a good hotel that I can count on regularly is a big plus. Not to mention, they are attached to a mall parking lot that has a lot of shops and restaurants within walking distance - another big plus. At 10pm the front desk told me to wait 30-60 mins to get it fixed but I have an early flight so I can't stay up to wait :-( - The A/C unit sounds like cans tied to the back of a car, barreling down the street - Avocado toast from the Bistro takes like it's loaded with olive oil or something. The hotel was very nice, very clean. The check in services was smooth and easy and the people were pleasant. We were in room 115. The room was clean but set up oddly, one side of the bed is against the wall. When you get out of bed you literally hit the wall. This room is on the first floor but next to the elevator room so you here the elevator moving all the time you're in the room, very disturbing when you're trying to sleep. My last issue is that the bed is not comfortable at all. It may be comfortable for the average person but I'm heavy and it was like sleeping on a hard cot. read more

Food service. I had stopped using Courtyard for the following reason several years ago, but due to a wedding stayed here. The lack of courtesy coffee is deplorable - no coffee available until 6:30am. Then, Starbucks is forced on you. Two cups = $10.00. No courtesy coffee (unless you consider one pouch of in-room coffee adequate). One glass of "no name" wine was almost $20 due to all of the local taxes. Plus - the person operating the food area spent most of her time sitting on a couch looking at her phone. I was finally acknowledged after five minutes. She said there was a post blocking her view. Shouldn't be a problem from behind a counter. They have a great staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and cooled to a comfortable temperature. Appeared to have been recently renovated making the rooms appear to be fresher. The Bistro (the restaurant/cafe) had decent menu selections and accommodating service. The lobby and additional lounging areas are a big plus (was able to watch NBA playoffs at a booth without interruptions from other guests). Will definitely return! read more

I recently stayed at the Courtyard Collierville, TN. It was a 2 night stay. On the 2nd night, I went to bed, but got up to use the restroom. When I went back to bed, I was SHOCKED. BUGS ALL OVER THE BED, PILLOW, SHEETS, etc. The bugs were crawling up the wall! It was disgusting. I called to the front desk. The woman didn't know what to do so she said she'd call me back. 10 minutes later, they said they had no other rooms so they sent me to a sleezy Hyatt Place (don't go their either). I asked to see the manager at the Courtyard and they said they didn't have a manager. (really?!) Then, I said I wanted compensation. No dice. I wrote to Anthony Capuano, CEO of Marriott and he kicked it down to an ineffectual person in customer service who hasn't done anything! I'm so pissed off. Great hotel in one of the better areas in the Greater Memphis area. I use the hotel ALL the time for business visitors. Each time they have a very pleasant experience. This week I had 40 guests in from all over the country. They all stayed at this hotel. They had nothing but nice things to say. I deal primarily with Cindy Kinard, director of Sales and Rebeccah. They both are awesome and do whatever they can to accommodate my needs. The hotel now has a cafe and Starbucks in the lobby. This is a great addition and much needed "extra". I also use this hotel for meetings and seminars. They have always taken care of my needs from A/V to catering. I highly recommend this Courtyard for your lodging and business needs. In town for a wedding. Mind you, this review is for the price point of hotel. First thing's first. The front desk staff are first rate. They really take care of the guests. So big kudos to them. Need a blanket? Bada bing. They were there almost immediately. Had a question at the front desk? They were helpful. A couple of minor quibbles, neither of which are the fault of the staff. 1) The wifi login is a bit convoluted. I say that as someone who travels a lot on business. It took getting on the horn with their wifi service to get it resolved. However, once again, it was the front desk staff who was so helpful in getting it resolved. 2) I'm not a fan of the Starbucks in the lobby. I would much rather just have the free breakfast in the lobby rather than this option. Of course, standing in line between seventeen cheerleaders who were giving the most complicated coffee orders between selfies with each other didn't hep matters. We came into town for a funeral in nearby Covington - plus we have family in Collierville - and lots of our family stayed here, which was fun. The hotel is nice, nothing special but nothing terrible either. Just average but in a good way. My room was one of the larger double queens and the extra space was great, I just prefer a suite. The beds are fine, the pillows a bit overstuffed, and the bathroom was clean and pretty. I like having a little fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker in my room; I prefer to have my morning tea in my jammies, not a sight anyone else wants to see at 7 am! The bar was a nice place to gather and just talk to our cousins; the atmosphere is good and the bartenders friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I enjoyed chatting with Aaron Carter (not the "I Want Candy" Aaron) about the craziness that weekend with a kids' soccer tournament in town. Hotel security and I tried for hours, until 2AM, to get the rowdy party over my head stopped. Some people are just rude and even security - who visited them 5 times - and a crazy lady from the room below banging on their door could not shut them up. The Bistro offers breakfast and dinner and we tried both. The breakfast sandwiches were really bland, and everything on the breakfast scramble - the bacon, eggs, potatoes - was way over cooked and hard. At dinner the shrimp Potstickers were ok for a frozen product and the loaded baked potato soup was DELICIOUS. The burgers were over cooked. A theme. At 7:30 on a Saturday night the hotel did not anticipate 25 people ordering food and drinks; the bartender doubled as a server and the lone cook only spoke Spanish, making their work harder. The bartender did a yeoman's job of taking care of the various tables! Overall, I'd stay here again but go to any of the nearby restaurants to eat if I wanted something other than baked potato soup. read more

I have stayed at this Marriott location a couple of times--most recent being on xmas, unfortunately due to covid. I drove from Atlanta to Memphis to visit my fam who live in the neighborhood right next to the mall where this hotel is. I was surprised at the rate I found on Priceline ($50 plus tax/fees)! When I decided to extend my stay to another day, Priceline was upto $85/night but the hotel itself offered me $70! Good customer service and neat and clean hotel. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. I had a couple of noise related issues. Guests in the room above me were very active and loud until 2am. But that was quickly resolved once I called the front desk. Another thing is their AC unit is louddddd. So loud that I couldn't properly sleep. The front desk guy told me it's just how it is In every room but I honestly don't buy it. But I didn't want to invest time in changing rooms. Overall good location, clean place, and good customer service. read more

So in reading the reviews I was nervous about our stay here as I am traveling with a basketball team and families. I can't speak for those who had negative experiences, but can tell you in day 2 of a 3 day stay our experience has been outstanding. The rooms are modern, clean and well maintained. The staff has been beyond accommodating such as Sales Director Cindy, who has provided a morning breakfast option for our players. So why not 5 stars? Because I am picky and spoiled! The fitness room has everything you need, but it is tiny! The common areas (hallways) are very hot and the elevator makes a loud sound that woke me every time someone got on or off. I will not recommend this location based on my experience with front desk staff. I was traveling from Atlanta and I booked a room at this location my card was locked due to previous identity theft and my card being used at a Miami property unauthorized. I travel often and normally i will receive a email or call before my reservation is cancelled due to non payment however this location cancelled my room with no email sent no call even though front desk Debra said she called before cancelling, also Debra lied and said she was the manager on duty but Ms Tammie confirmed she was just a senior front desk rep. Also when I asked for Debra last name she said her last name was Debra from front desk, I was told front desk manager was called and she said there was nothing she could do I should have had a valid card on file. We didn't think about the time change in our 11 hour drive to Memphis so we were going to arrive at the Marriott very early, I called to see if we could check in early but they didn't have any open rooms when I called so we were really stressing maybe having to sleep in the car for a bit but luckily when I lurched up to the front desk the fella working took pity on me & put us in suite. Thank God because I probably would have fallen asleep on his desk if not. The hotel was spotless too with lovely architecture. Everyone was friendly & accommodating. I asked for the room number for the 1 room that is available so I could do an order for food and told "I haven't assigned those yet" as he's writing it down on a key card. Last weekend, I stayed at this location. This was my second time staying there and two years. Both time have been a great experience. Check-in was quick and easy. The room was very clean and there were plenty of towels. I actually used a lot of the samme face towels doing my make-up and they sent some more up very quickly. It was very quiet and peaceful. I hate noisy hotels! I will definitely be stay here when I am in the area again and would recommend Courtyard Marriott Memphis/Collierville for anyone looking for a good night's rest. read more

I never had any issues with noise or other concerns from my neighbors; even while the hotel was busy with a family reunion. Super clean, nice bed linens, modern furnishings and a big desk space to work at. We had a microwave, fridge and coffee pot in the room. There is a Starbucks in the lobby which was very convenient and a cafe that serves breakfast and dinner. Also a concession area where you can buy snacks, beer, microwavable food, protein drinks, etc. I didn't use the pool area but did use the gym. It was small but had really nice equipment - the treadmills had tv screens you could attach your iPhone to while exercising. read more

Wow. This place is setting the bar for my hotel experience, this hotel is just amazing. The most clean and accommodating hotel I've stayed in to date. You will love the spacious rooms, and including the spacious bathroom with seat in the shower, and large vanity. Here is one thing that you will absolutely love, it is located in the middle of a large shopping center, that you can explore and shop, and easily find food. There is also a nice café in the lobby of the hotel too. This Hotel has it all, and is at a convenient location if you are visiting or passing through Memphis, located just outside of town to cut down on that city noise and traffic. Peaceful, luxurious, and cleanliness put this hotel at five out of five that I highly recommend you go off the beaten path just conveniently enough, and stay at this wonderful hotel. read more

BEWARE! They like to dip into your bank account! I was traveling with my daughter on a road trip across the USA. We were on our way home and hit some huge pieces of tire tread in the road. We had no choice but to stop for the night. The only place we could find was this hotel. It was very nice and all but I had a budget I was trying to stick to, considering we were staying in hotels every night for almost 2 weeks. The front desk clerk that checked us in was friendly and gave me a small discount when I asked for one. We were tired and the car would have to go to the shop first thing the next morning. We would only be there a few hours, as it was already late. I was very grateful for the discount. (only a few dollars, but everything helps) We got into our room, showered and slept. When we got up the next morning I decided to check my bank account. When I did, I noticed they had authorized about $30.00 more then what I was told the cost of the room would be. When I asked the morning clerk at the front desk about it she said it was for "incidentals" and had an attitude when I voiced that I was not told of that, especially since they knew I was trying not to spend $200 for a few hours of sleep, and said "All hotels do it". Okay, I realize there are a lot of hotels that do in fact charge a deposit for incidentals, however they usually INFORM you of that up front, rather than sneak it in with no mention. This was the first hotel on this trip that charged me that so I wasn't even thinking about it at the time. The clerk was rude and just said it would fall off "as soon as I checked out". I got my things and we checked out. She gave me a receipt and we left. Later that day I checked my account again to see if the charge had adjusted "as soon as I checked out" like I had been told. It had not. I assumed since it was a Saturday, I might have to wait until Monday. I wasn't happy, but what am I going to do about it now? Then on Sunday evening I checked my account again and not only was the charge still there but there was ANOTHER authorization for the correct amount! Therefore holding over $300 of my funds!!!! Rather than using the same authorization number, she entered it AGAIN and caused 2 pending authorizations. I honestly think she did this on purpose because she was offended that I dared bring up the first authorization. I was so mad! I called my bank and they agreed to remove the first one but said to keep an eye on it because they may resubmit it. I told them I had my receipt and if they did it would be fraud! Then this morning I called the hotel and spoke with the general manager because I wanted him to know this had happened and see if this is "normal procedure". Instead of being sympathetic, he was defensive and claimed that it was my bank I should have the issue with! I told him I have been in the hotel business as well as many other businesses that use credit card machines to authorize payments and I know for a fact that THEY are the ones at fault for not entering the same authorization number when making final payments/adjustments. I also told him I now understand where his morning clerk gets her attitude from because their GM doesn't care either and just wants to redirect blame on everyone else. If you choose to stay here, be prepared to have your money held in your account that is triple what they tell you it will be. Their attitude about it is "Well, it will fall off in 3-5 business days so whats the problem?" Very unfortunate behavior for a Marriott hotel. read more

Spent last night at the Courtyard in Collierville. It was great, clean, well appointed room with nice amenities for a business traveler (lots of plugins and a very nice rolling desk/table. Set in a very nice shopping center with restaurants walking distance away was a bonus. It was a nice stop, particularly because the family came with me on this gig. Chuck at the front desk couldn't have been nicer, and even being full the night before they were kind enough to get us in a room early. Starbucks coffee all day is a bonus. read more

Looks nice, but is not functional as a business hotel. I asked where I could print and scan a legal document I had...they do not have a scanner, but they can fax it. So I called my real estate agent that laughed at me, they got rid of that technology ages ago. The room walls are paper thin, as I am writing this I can here not only the TV of the folks next door to me, but also their conversation. The only interruption is the weird sounds that the plumbing make, that sound like breathing sounds. Really, for what is supposed to be a middle of the line business hotel for a major chain, this one really disappoints. read more

Clean and in a decent area. We had a wedding weekend there with a hospitality room. Only downside is they kicked us out of the room for being too loud and we weren't even that loud. Another thing, when we came down to breakfast at 10ish, it was mostly leftovers. No eggs, but some biscuits and greasy uncooked bacon. This is when staff got to eat. So when I sit down, I see the lady who's supposed to be working the breakfast room eating an egg sandwich. Gees...wish I could've had an egg made for me in the back, too. What a fantastic hotel. Just 20 minutes from downtown Memphis, and adjacent to lots of shopping opportunities.The friendly staff had no problem getting us checked in quickly. You are greeted by a lush, well maintained, clean lobby. The Starbucks caught our eye immediately. We took advantage of that in the morning. Our gorgeous double room was on the second floor. It looked brand new. Clean, fresh linens, comfortable chairs, and a great loveseat. I find alot of hotel rooms to be cramped but this one was extremely spacious. The beds were comfortable and they spoil you with lots of pillows. We went for a swim in their pool. The pool area was extremely well maintained with ample towels available. When it came time to check out, it was quick and painless. 10/10 would stay again. read more
