Nice clean hotel right in Raleigh midtown. It's an easy walk to quite a few restaurants and bars. The layout is odd with the elevator all the way at the back, but it all worked out. Fee parking. Solid water pressure and temp. I didn't get to the pool, but it looked pretty nice

Despite being extremely busy (the parking lot was very full), my room on the second floor for the one night I was here was very quiet and quite comfortable. And despite being an older property, it is well maintained. I've been to some Courtyards that were not nearly as nice as this one. The young lady who checked me in acknowledged my Marriott Rewards status and was friendly. The room was a standard one with two Queen beds and the usual work desk with coffee service. The bathroom was nice and the curved shower curtain rail is always a nice plus. I did not use the pool, fitness center or Bistro. All in, it was a nice hotel and I'd have no problem staying here again.

I had a great time here at Marriott Raleigh Midtown. The staff are all so attentive and friendly. In the morning I had breakfast and the bistro bar open late with some delicious food. Since its holiday, they provide cards that we could write for soldiers who couldn't be home this holiday.

I've been at this hotel for three nights now; I am writing this review while enjoying my final trip through their $10.95 breakfast buffet. The previous reviewer was right: this is a regular hotel-nothing flashy about it. But we're in Raleigh, not Las Vegas, so I'm ok with that. The room: I had a room with a single queen bed, which I found to be very comfortable. There were several pillows of varying firmness to choose from, and the sheets were not the typical scratchy hotel sheets. The room has a balcony, too, which I liked. The toiletries provided were standard. My hair smells good and my skin is clean-mission accomplished. You get free Internet access (wireless doesn't work-you have to plug in with the provided Ethernet cable) The breakfast buffet: I thought it was really great! It wasn't extensive or anything, but like I said: we're not in Vegas. The oatmeal was good, the biscuits and gravy was good, the staff refilled my OJ often. The staff: This is the category that really earns the stars. The staff are AWESOME. Of course I can't remember her name now, but she had salt and pepper hair cut into a cool, short style, and she wore glasses. Ring a bell? Anyway. She was quite wonderful. Everyone I came into contact was, but this woman went above and beyond. She was there in the evening when I arrived from the office and she was there in the morning, pouring me orange juice. She arranged all of my transportation... it was just great. I am heading there again for a week in January, and I am looking forward to staying again!

Great room for a good night's rest. When Hurricane Matthew comes to town, you run, or try to run. This was home for a few nights and I enjoyed it. I wasn't looking for a fancy Hilton Hotel, but I didn't really want a lower brand type of hotel. This was just the middle. Adequately cleaned with just enough comfort. First thing I did was hop in for a nice hot shower. If I can get hot water fast, it's a win. I did step into the living room area, but just to peek at the patio. Yes, there's a patio that overlooks the courtyard, which is also where the pool is. The weather was yucky but that would have been a great place to sit on a nice, warm day. Now onto the most important part of the room...you guessed it, the bedroom! Great bed, and that's all you need to know. I am not picky; I just need comfortable pillows, soft sheets, and a welcoming mattress. You know it's a good one when you sleep from 11pm-9am and only wake up because you set an alarm. Parking here was very easy, customer service was very pleasant, and the location is close to shopping and highways. Across the street you had a Trader Joe's, nail salon, Melting Pot, burger joint, Advance Auto Parts, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, and several other businesses.

I came back to my room to find this roach climbing down my curtain.

Many issues were faced with the parking, tag not working properly, being charged by the garage on top of the $30/day charge from the hotel. Breakfast offers hot food and there is coffee and tea available 24/7 in the lobby. There are two elevators on opposite sides of the building so you can never be too far away. However, they both operate extremely slow. Upon checking in the room was facing the bar street, unknowingly booked the hotel where all the college students go out. While they do offer ear plugs and sound machines in each room it doesn't help much when it's 1am and so loud you can't sleep. The other options for rooms face the train or the street - no ideal placement. One bad interaction occurred with a staff member, after being charged to exit the garage I approached the front desk which had no one there. Turned to see a woman straddling the couch behind me who yelled across the lobby asking if I was checking in. When I said no and told her there was an issue with the parking she looked at me to continue when I realized she had no plan on getting up to assist us. She did not help sort out the problem but told us to call the parking garage to get a refund... Upon checkout there was a different worker present who graciously and with attitude I may add, removed one day of parking to make up for the garage charging. Next time I visit this town I will be avoiding this hotel to say the least. However, the rooms were clean and spacious.

The centerpiece of the house's interior is a rotunda supported by four Corinthian columns and lit by a stained glass window located on the roof. Walking into the foyer you cant help but embrace the timeless grace, where every corner whispers of history and a bygone era. There is a quiet serenity to the space, as if time slows just a little bit inside. The modern touch added to the old renovated mansion does come with a bit of a sharp, sterile elegance of a modern mansion. The Parlor is a great place to enjoy a delicious craft cocktail and even better, ADULTS ONLY! There are also many other lovely seating arrangements throughout the property, including outdoors, and a few even come with fire pits. Everything is lovely and though it is all modern and sleek, it still feels fitting for the original era of the house. The cocktail area takes up most of the main floor, with a stand-up bar just off the entryway with a few tables and then a larger lounging area with sofas and chairs just beyond. The drinks are exceptionally good, and the spirits menu is creative. They also offer a few small plates. There is plenty of paved parking immediately next to the hotel for guests only, so that is not a hassle as it can be at some B&B/inn-type establishments. At check-in, you are offered a complimentary glass of sparkling wine to set the tone. The rooms are comfortable, but I will say that the entry-level ones are quite small (which is apparent on the website), but for the rates charged there isn't even a place to sit and read a book other than the bed. There's one small, delicate wicker chair that would be for tying shoes or whatever, but not lounging. The bed is luxuriously dressed, and there is drawer space and a minifridge, but no closet -- hanging items can go on hooks by the door out in the open. The bathroom is spacious enough, with a broad sink and elegant tilework. The lighting fixtures throughout are nifty. I found the breakfast sort of average for this type of place. I came later on, so perhaps there is more earlier, but there were a few pastries, some hard-boiled eggs, and fruit when I arrived. There's also a fancy coffee-drink contraption, but those aren't my thing so I left that alone. It's a very easy walk across the Boylan Bridge and down a couple of blocks to the area of the Dillon with several restaurants, and the performing arts center is not far beyond that. Location-wise, there's plenty that's walkable but also more an easy drive away.

The lobby is decorated so nicely! The chandeliers are cool! Each one throughout the hotel is different. We found them in hallways, the restaurant, the lobby, near the elevators..everywhere! Just a cool, chic place! We had breakfast in the Overlook restaurant in the hotel each morning of our stay. Each morning was an all you can eat, buffet style, amazing spread! There were scrambled eggs each morning (we were there for three mornings), but different meats, different types of potatoes, grits, oatmeal, cold cereals, fruits, yogurts, an array of breads, juices, a coffee bar with tea and hot chocolate as well, and soooooo many toppings and spreads to go on anything you want.
