The staff here make the visit. They go above and beyond to resolve any and all issues. The facility has beginning signs of aging like runs on the edge of the carpet and a small crack on the small bathroom mirror. This hotel is clearly new and everything about it was great given my recent stay. They are conveniently located near the MUSC Health Center (Medical University of South Carolina)... walking distance as a family member recently had some surgery done. Ideal for family & friends and also for recovering before hitting the road home (home is about 2 hours away). This area is being built up so not much around, but over time it will have things better than fast food chains. The rooms are clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. The lobby setup is great with the food center/bistro and bar available for guests. The price point is a tad bit high, but still in range like any other traveling destination. My room size works, but know that the shower is small (and behind the door in the bathroom) so I didn't have much room to stretch out, but not a deal breaker unless you're staying for a long duration. The one issue was my fridge... it worked, but it would "knock" with a noise every so often. Figured it was just the way it was sitting in the cabinet. I moved it around, probably just needs to be better secured. Again, nothing major but if I was a light sleeper that night, it would have bothered me to the point of unplugging. The staff made this a great stay as I was a frequent visitor of the bistro for food and beverages but friendly in passing and helpful when we needed like a wheelchair for assisting my family from the room to the car. read more

This hotel is pretty basic for the Marriott, but it is clean, it is quiet, it's close to the freeway so it's easy to find, they have a small deli that serves coffee, breakfast and evening appetizers (for a fee of course) and the staff were wonderful, kind and helpful (thank you for everything Miss Barbara & Miss Michelle). We will absolutely return here if we're in the area. read more

Nice looking place with friendly staff. They have a bar and Starbucks in the lobby. I like coffee in the evenings, since they have a Starbucks, you have to buy the coffee. I was fine with that, but walked back to my room before realizing the coffee was barely lukewarm. The bed was comfortable, until my wife turned the air conditioner on. If you like vibrating beds there is no need for quarters! You can feel the vibration of the A/C when the air is on. Some mIght even pay extra for this feature. :) I'd stay here again. read more

I arrived on Saturday, March 24, 2023, at 3:30pm and after being checked-in I was told that my room was not ready. After waiting 30 min my room still wasn't ready and I wasn't offered another room. I had to take my luggage and change my clothing in a family members room to get ready for a 5:30 event. After returning from the event around 11:30pm I was able to gain access to my room and the bathroom floor had trash on the floor and there was no soap available. This was the most unpleasant stay I ever had as a Marriot Bonvoy member. read more

The Hotel Looked fairly new. Outside looked very nice, the Lobby was nice and clean. I was disappointed with the room. The bathroom toilet seat was textured and coating was peeling, very unsanitary. There is no way this toilet seat could be cleaned properly and sanitary! Paint was peeling on the ceiling in the bathroom. I hate to focus what may seem like small details after everything else was nice, but these are the details that shouldn't be overlooked. read more

I stayed here with my family for one night on the way home from vacation. The room itself was nice. Didn't need it to be amazing, just sleeping and hitting the road the next day. We were short one towel, so we went to the front desk to ask for one. The lady working was sitting at the high top table, not standing behind her desk like I would usually encounter. She proceeds to tell us we need to ask housekeeping for a towel, she doesn't have any down here. Okay, we do that and the housekeeper tells us they don't have any towels with them, we need to go to the front desk to get a towel. Umm??? Okay we just tried that, but we will try again later. We left for dinner and came back to find the front desk worker sitting again. She asks us why we didn't ask housekeeping... we said we did and that they told us to ask you. So so so confusing for a simple towel request!!! She told us she doesn't know if she can get into the room with the towels because the housekeepers left? It all seemed weird and kinda lazy but we finally got a towel at 8pm and were able to shower. read more

Not what I expected from a Marriott, but it was nice. The room was small, but super cozy. I didn't mind it. The bathroom only had a shower and no tub. That was one thing I didn't like. And the shower door keep sliding open and wouldn't stay close. It was like the hotel was not level. You could here the people in the room beside u, muffled, but u could still here the noise. The bed the comfy. The hallway to the room was super hot. It was like over 100 degrees the first nite we was there. Another perk was the Staff. Very courteous and hospitable. Always smiling. And eager to help. So the staff gets a 10 out of 5 stars. lol I would stay with again. read more

I stayed here for two nights in February 2017. The hotel lobby is quite nice, and the staff is very friendly. My room was clean. The beds (both of them) squeaked horribly. I started in one bed and soon realized it was squeaky so moved to the other one only to hear the same sound. Sigh. The air conditioner was a little loud, but it worked well. The bathroom was nice, and I loved the fact that there was both a fridge and microwave. I had a real problem with the squeaky beds and with the fact that the bathroom door would not stay closed. I like a steamy shower, and the bathroom door wouldn't stay closed for me to have one. Check out was s cinch. I ordered a Maker's neat at the bar, and was given a hefty drink (thank you, bartender). All-in-all, I think it's a nice hotel. If you're assigned room 231 you might ask if the door and beds have been fixed. read more

The establishment was adequately cleaned; however, a little pricey ($171 for one night) for the accommodations. The ice machine on the third was broken the entire time so you had to go to another floor to get ice, the elevator is extremely slow, and there was no microwave in the room. When I called the front desk to inquire about a microwave, the attendant said I had to request one. When we got back I stopped by the desk to do just that. He went to the back to make sure one was available, then said he would have the maintenance person bring it up. When I called again after a few hours I was told they were all gone. I don't mind then being gone but don't lie about it wasn't available when you clearly never sent what was available up to the room in a timely manner. read more

The hotel was just average however it has very thin walls and doors. We could hear the people upstairs walking on the floor (our ceiling) and can hear them turn on their shower. The front door seemed like it was open with all the talking we could hear from the hallway. People weren't even being loud or rowdy but we could hear everything. The TV also stopped getting channels the last night but they made a call in to get it fixed the next morning when we were checking out. The only thing that made up for all of this was the consistently friendly staff! From check in with Cooper (if I remember his name correctly, from Kansas or STL) to our check out with Viviana and great friendly service from Martin and to everyone in between that we encountered during our stay! 3 stars for the hotel, but 4 stars for the staff. read more

I stayed here multiple nights and can tell you that was very enjoyable. My room was cleaned daily to standard with no items missing. My linens were replaced and towels picked up accordingly. The bistro had delicious food for my entire family and I. In fact it was so good that I didn't order take out one night while staying there. The pool was enjoyable although it was very crowded. Checked in late Friday past 8pm. A few accidents on strip from people rushing. Friendly staff found us 3 rooms on the third floor. Rooms were one bed room plus den with pull out couch n futon. Futon only fits small child. Clean rooms. Free breakfast in morning was good. Cereals, yogurts, waffles , sausages , scrambled eggs or hard boiled. Fresh fruit , juices , tea, coffee and muffins. The hotel front desk ladies are wonderful and very accommodating. The room was clean and nice. The sliding glass door leading outside wasn't the best, but probably hard to keep clean daily. My only Complaint it took three days to remove the dirty glasses from the room from my drinks I ordered. The Bistro ladies were very accommodating excellent service and food was good. Drinks a little expensive but not complaining for not having to drive around town. All the staff was very friendly everyone asks you if you need anything or if they can help you. The maintenance crew was asking if I needed different pillows for my room. The staff here is exceptional wonderful people couldn't ask for a better stay. read more

This is a slightly non-standard Courtyard. This place has the same low-quality breakfast buffet that other brands in the chain give away for free, but this place charges for it. This is the only Courtyard that I have been to that doesn't have the ubiquitous coffee bar/mini restaurant counter/beer and wine bar. The food and drink selections in the pay pantry are nothing special and less than would otherwise be expected. It also doesn't have a pool. It does have an indoor jacuzzi and exercise room with about three machines. Free WiFi is present and has decent bandwidth. There is a good sized mini fridge in the room. The coffee maker is a single serve variety. One of the things that I found needing serious upgrade was the AC/heat unit in the room. It did not have modern thermostat controls on the wall, but rather the controls on the unit, including hi/lo/off fan selections and either heat or cooling functions. Come on folks...a wall thermostat is not new technology. Get out of the 50's motel era. While this is somewhat close to the interstate and gives convenient access to get back on the road or off to your client's site, it is not noticibly noisy, which makes for a decent night's sleep. read more

1st I have to say the front desk is very nice and accommodating. I asked for a room on the 1st floor and the person searched a lot until she found one for me. Room was ok. Little freaked out with the comforter. Also went outside to sit by the VERY nice fire pit they have outside. It was working for a bunch of people prior, however it shut off and would not work again. Disappointed. Also so NOT happy with the Bistro there. I ordered the bistro burger. It cost me almost $13.00. However it was just a frozen patty they cooked. For that price it should have at least been fresh hamburger. The menu said it was cheese, lettuce, tomato, garlic aioli on a brioche bun. There was no lettuce and if there was garlic on this burger I sure didn't taste it. The fries however were delicious. Also it seemed when I ordered the staff seemed aggravated that I asked for it to go. I honestly can't say I would never come again, however it would not be my 1st choice. read more

What a great experience we had at this courtyard!! We came in from NY for our sons graduation!! We were greeted so nicely when we arrived. I told them my elderly dad was traveling with us and that we forgot his walker, they immediately offered us a wheelchair that they had, what a lifesaver!! Shana has been wonderful, always greeting us with a big smile! Makes us so happy to stay in this lovely hotel!! The food has been yummy, especially the warm , freshly baked cookies!!! read more

Stay elsewhere. I stayed recently for 4 days along with several other family members and each of us experienced issues. My room was only cleaned two out of four days. They came and took the used towels in the morning, but never brought any clean back. Housecleaning did come to clean around 5pm a family members room and when said they would be finished changing for an evening event in a few minutes, the housekeeper said it was basically now or never. The air conditioner/heater in two rooms didn't work at all. Two others were stuck on high and cold, leaving them freezing each night. The ceiling in the lobby was leaking. I stay frequently at Marriott hotels and carry elite status. I can't recall ever having an experience such as this within the chain, but this hotel obviously needs improvement. Until they do, there is a Residence Inn or Hilton Garden near by to try instead. read more

This place is awesome. Stayed here twice while traveling one way then the other. Both times were great. Had my 85 yr old grandpa one way and they happily catered to his old school plain easting self. The hotel is under renovation but don't let that stop you from staying. They had a makeshift desk for the check in. Everything was clean and comfortable. The bed was super comfy. We slept in and went down for breakfast and it was full of choices. One of the best breakfasts that I have ever had at a hotel. Real bacon, smoked sausage, hash browns, waffles, fruit, and many, many, more. The price was right for the night also. A good value and a great stay. read more

Very disappointed with the service. On website and check in, was informed about complimentary breakfast. Upon going down for a cup of coffee, was told there was no compliment breakfast. When I inquired at front desk, was told that there was "nothing that they could do" it was corporate policy. Traveling with a family, being able to have a waffle and juice to start the day and not having to pay $40 makes a difference in getting back on the road and the budget. The $5 in additional cost, plus the fact that the staff does not care about our experience at this hotel just made me decide to never stay in another Marriott. Warning to all: this hotel has an age requirement for staying here. You must be 21 to rent a room here. My son drove 10 1/2 hours and was denied his room, even though he is a Marriott Elite member. He is 20 years old and was returning to college in Miami. They forced him to drive another 2 1/2 hours to Savannah, GA because he was told he couldn't get a room in SC. Nowhere does it state in the booking process that he must be 21. Warning to all military personnel who are not yet 21 and may need a room before reporting to Ft. Jackson. This hotel will not accept you. Age discrimination is real and this hotel displays it!!! read more

Very disappointing. Jennifer, the desk clerk, rudely questioned my "pet" being here. When I explained that he was a service dog, she said, "well I'll have to talk to the manager." She left me waiting ten minutes then registered me. I had a confirmed reservation for a room with a roll in shower. It was not available. So I'm faced with a two night stay and an inability to take a shower. Desk clerk needs training. It is inexcusable to promise a room and to not have it available. Loud train sounds can easily be heard from the rooms, so bring earplugs if you want to actually get any sleep.
