My daughter went from having never ridden a horse to being able to show in a year. More importantly, she made friends there because Tracy encourages a nurturing atmosphere. My daughter came out of her shell and has flourished here. As a rebuttal to the one negative post on this site, I have observed Tracy with students of all ages and backgrounds (note: we are not Caucasian) and there is not one ounce of bias from her towards anyone. Tracy is patient and kind, but is stern when the circumstance requires it. She is truly an empathetic and caring person, who is a consummate horseperson. All I have seen is what a great role model she is for the many kids that she teaches.

The oak trees are a huge plus. There's actual shade here, not just a few patches, which makes a big difference in this area. If you hike out far enough you'll find old abandoned houses and structures, which is honestly one of the coolest parts. It gives the whole place a bit of history and something extra to explore. Also great for horseback riding and a solid spot to bring food and picnic without dealing with crowds. Simple, quiet, and worth going back to.

Please be careful this area has lots of over grown horse tail grass, it is so harmful to your fur babies. I would recommend to come during winter and cooler temperatures.

I'm not sure it's exactly like riding a bike--but Karen made me feel completely at ease from the start. Kiwi, my horse, was incredibly patient and gentle with me. I swear she knew I needed a little extra TLC! It made the whole experience so enjoyable and stress-free. I even got to do a tiny bit of trotting, which was such a fun bonus. We decided on this venue back in early March, and I communicated with Cindy regularly all the way up to my wedding day. She always responded promptly and answered any questions I had (and there was a lot). She let me go look at the space as many times as I wanted to plan things out and take pictures, and during those months they were working to add things to make weddings there even more magical. Our wedding was the first they had there in many years, from what I understand, but you'd never know that based on how smoothly everything went and how easy communication was with them. Also: 1. For those complaining about not being able to use their phone on a rental trail ride, it's common sense, if you accidentally drop your phone, it holds up the trail line while the trail guide has to retrieve it for you ( not allowed to get on and off a rental horse)!, it may get broken (and who's fault is that?), stopping to click several photos slows down the timed ride for everyone, and when it falls it may spook the horse. 2. So you want to trot, lope or Gallup? Not on these mountain trails with a horse you aren't familiar , with totally inexperienced riders as well as seasoned riders, and children. Just because YOU think you are an experienced RIDER doesn't matter. These are not your horses. This is a business and safety for all comes first along with protecting the horse's safety. A lame horse cannot be ridden and that is costing vet bills as well as a loss of $65. - I'm a very experienced, seasoned rider.and previous horse owner. I'm looking forward to not needing to show off and just enjoying the experience. If you just want to learn enough about riding to be able to go out on the trail, she has some great lesson horses - and her facility, Creekside Equestrian, is right next to a huge tract of Conservancy land that's beautiful for trail riding. But if you want to become a serious dressage competitor, she can help both you and your horse learn and progress to reach your goals.
