I've never engaged a company to do my property cleanup in the past, I always enjoyed doing the yard…read morework - but the amount of leaves my property has, without woods to blow into, has me bagging an unbelievable amount and it never really ends all year long. This takes time away from the work I enjoy, like gardening, lawn care, updates, etc... This year I decided to just go for it and hire Justin and his crew. I can't believe the job they did. It took them a few hours to do what would have taken me a minimum of 3 weekends to do, and it was done more thoroughly then I could ever have. I'm sold, now I have time back with my family and a clean canvas to work on for my spring planting and maintenance. If you're on the fence, just get a quote, it is 100% worth it, and Cold Spring is the right crew for the job.

Justin and his crew did a fantastic job on multiple projects on my property. One of which involved…read moreremoving and clearing out several over grown plants, weeds, and shrubs, that were all around the front patio. After everything was removed, fabric was put down, and tacked in place, getting it ready for the river rock. He took the time and machine raked all of the area's of the property, making sure they were properly prepped and ready to be seeded, especially the dog yard. When all of the work was finished, everything was removed, and the property was left clean from all of the work. I highly recommend Cold Spring Landscaping.

Avoid Trevor Landscaping - Unkept Promises & a Nightmare Experience…read more Trevor seemed like the dream contractor at first--charismatic, sharp, and super responsive. He offered a great price and made big promises about what he could deliver. Based on our early conversations and stellar references and reviews, I felt confident moving forward and gave him a $30,000 deposit. That's when everything went downhill. After receiving my deposit, communication became nearly impossible. Delay after delay, excuse after excuse--and then he completely ghosted me. I tried calling, texting, emailing... nothing. Days went by with zero response. When I finally got in touch and pleaded for some honesty, he admitted I should "go elsewhere" and promised to return my deposit. No apology for me losing more than 2 months due to his inaction. But even that turned into another frustrating chase. I was told, "It's in the mail," or, "There was a problem issuing it." It wasn't until I threatened legal action that the refund finally came through. Out of concern, I went to the town to report what happened, and was stunned to learn I wasn't the only one. Someone in the building department had a nearly identical experience. It became clear this may be a pattern--taking deposits from multiple clients to fund other jobs, or simply to keep the business afloat. In other words, it felt like an interest-free loan for him, with no guarantee of work ever starting. If you're thinking of hiring Trevor Landscaping, please be careful. The promises may sound great, but the risk is high. I lost time, trust, and a lot of peace of mind through this process. Learn from my experience.

Working with Trevor's Landscaping has been a nightmare. As was mentioned in another review, he was…read morecommunicative until I paid the deposit. After that, I felt I had to hound him for information and updates. To make a very long and tedious story short, I paid the initial deposit for a retainer wall/french drain/yard clean-up on March 25, 2024 in the amount of $6,900. It took multiple emails from me and a threat to pull from the project to finally get a start date for the project. He came in mid-June, "completed" the project, and I paid him the balance. Upon inspection, however, I realized he did not complete the project. The areas to be cleared and yard clean-up were not done, there was no soil or seeding done, and the lack of proper grading created a bowl in my yard to collect water. I contacted him and asked him about all of the above mentioned issues on June 21, 2024. I had to ask him more than once when he was planning to come back and finish the job. Finally, on July 19th (almost a month from when I pointed out the job was not complete), I sent a stern email. Since my dog had to have surgery on his larynx and should not bark, I gave Trevor two months to come up with a date. At that point I'd rather wait two months and actually be given a date than be told a date that he had no intention of keeping. On September 6th, the date he agreed to start work, I received a text from him. A large tree branch had fallen at the top of the yard. He texted me would be glad to take care of it. I thought how great. Then he said he would just need TIME to bring in the right equipment. I should have known. Nearly a week later without hearing from him, I took care of the branch myself after work and asked for him to come back asap. He said he'd address it in the upcoming week. The week came and went without a word from him. I had to reach out to him again. He said he would come back on October 11th. I took off work to make sure I was there and they did not leave before everything was finished. By 10am when no one had shown, I messaged him asking if he were planning on coming. Apparently he was having issues with his truck. I'm still not sure why he did not have the consideration to call me first thing. On October 15th, he finally came back. I had to go to work and could not afford to take another day off. When I came home that evening it was dark but I noticed right away that my honey suckle bush had been dug up. I specifically stated that I did not want that touched. I planted that honey suckle bush for my three children after I got a divorce. It had great sentimental value, not to mention it was beautiful. The next morning I woke and inspected the yard in the light and to my horror saw that they had dug up the hydrangea bush I had planted on my dog, Charlie's, grave (another area I told them to leave). Of course, I cried. Aside from the fact that the bush was gone, the thought of them disturbing his grave was upsetting. Of course there was no soil or seeding done either which I thought was funny when he replied to my text about with, "I would be more than happy to help with your topsoil and seeding to top dress it nicely." That was part of the contract. That was what I had paid thousands of dollars for. I declined his offer stating there was no way he was ever stepping foot in my yard again. He agreed to give me a partial refund by November 1, 2024, but of course he didn't. Now I am taking him to small claims court. I did not want to write a bad review because the thought of negatively affecting someone's business makes me feel awful. However, had there been more bad reviews, I would have looked else where for a landscaper.
