We paid Greg Ryback in Full for a Retaining Wall. The company never finished the services, costing us over $3000 plus time, killed our shrubs and never installed the agreed upon steps and top area of steps as per the Proposal. For the past 2 years we have been calling, texting and emailing with regard to the deterioration and cracking of the Caps. Now the Retaining Wall is separating in areas. We have a 3 year Warranty, but they refuse to communicate with us entirely. read more

I can't say enough about Ryback Landscaping! From start to finish (almost a week ahead of schedule), they were courteous, professional, and efficient. We needed to have our front porch, path, retaining wall, and front landscaping replaced. Other than asking them to "do what you think looks nice," I didn't have a specific vision for the project. I am glad I left it up to them; the finished product was much nicer than anything I would have come up with. Very reasonable price, especially considering the quality of the work that was done. Had paver stairs under deck done, river rocks and plants/trees installed. Work was done fine with minor back and forth communications in September. By November, six evergreen trees started browning/molting. We sent pics to Greg in April. He came out yesterday took pictures and said he sent them to his nursery and a horticulturist. He said per nursery and horticulturist they weren't dead, just molting. He agreed with them and would check on my trees in three months. Not sure if my warranty is up by then. I responded via email they aren't dead, but they look dead and this is not what I paid for. I asked him to work with me and replace two of the six trees. I called and asked him to replace two of them and he refused. I guess in a few years the trees should look like what I expected when I got the work done. read more

You could do way better. Lawn work is not rocket science. As such it really is all about the service. This company clearly thinks they are doing their customers a favor (rather than providing a service for which they are compensated) Issues: 1. Sending out a contract took 2 weeks and 2 attempts. I followed up. Office manager/wife insinuated I was holding back the contract. This after *I* was the one who followed up and offered to give my credit card number over the phone. This could have been easily handled through printing the contract and having one of the workers have me sign when performing the lawn service. Instead they chose to complicate something simple and make me the problem. (This perfectly sums up how their attitude to their customers.) 2. Trim (weed whacking) and border work left much to be desired. Sidewalks and flowerbeds were not edged properly (my former lawn service provider, since retired, easily addressed). 3. I had a contract and contracted rate. They overbilled me and then, when I pointed that out, the office manager/wife was snippy with me. They said they'd correct the matter but messed it up again. I pointed out again, using simple words so that they would get it right this time. Office manager/wife said she'd correct (yeah, you said that before) and to find another lawn service. Sounds good to me! I wonder what would have happened if I had used *any* salty language with her? Would I have been required to send her a floral arrangement? Just ridiculous. 4. If a customer wants to cancel a contract they would require 2 weeks' notice, that the cancellation be in writing, and that the office confirm the cancellation. Fair enough except that they can cancel a contract immediately. In summary: you'll be working with the office manager/wife (Kym) who is a deeply unhappy, entitled, immature individual so you better hope you have no issues with their service or billing as you'll be getting her projected angst (seriously? who needs that?). They do not run their business with integrity. Bear that in mind if you are considering hiring them and good luck. read more

we had a pond put in which turned out to be a concrete hole,,,,Ryback came along took out the concrete hole,,put rocks and a natural shape,,,and the result was a big mud hole. He took not only the rocks from the pile in the driveway ,,,but the driveway dirt itself. The whole thing is being redone by Fitz's Fish ponds ... The mud hole was just the beginning,,, the only thing salvageable is the fact we have a hole in the ground and rocks...Everything was wrong in the construction......In short, we were screwed twice and now we are paying a third time,,,, We called him when we saw the mud not filtering out.... CROOKS!!! This is the worst company ever!! Our $20K+ deck is collapsing. Repeated attempts to have it repaired have gone unanswered.

Pretty poor customer experience. I had called to have some easy landscape work done on my property and spoke to one of the owners. He was pleasant enough, but after a week of no further response regarding an estimate and scheduling, I tried to reach him again at the office. Eventually I was able to get a hold of someone and was told that they were able to help me with my job. What a waste of time. read more

Purchased 5 Norwegian spruce trees from them which they planted. Greg said they were guaranteed for the season and to wait on those not looking well, as they would come by to check them out and they would be replaced after a season. Repeated calls were made to report the trees progress and to set up a date for them to come by and replace them. ...That was two years and now two full seasons ago. Never received any return calls from this company to make those arrangements. Since that time, I have paid additional $$ to have others come in and remove the dead trees from the property. Initially,I left them in place, so they could be inspected. It became clear to me after two seasons that no one was coming back out to replace them. Dissatisfied with the amount of calls I've had to make and the lack of follow up.. I would not recommend them. They did not honor the agreement made for the job and have not made any attempts to replace the trees as promised. read more

The communication is pleasant and they do the job as per our requirement. I recommend them to anybody without any hesitation. Initial impressions were great. We contracted to have water seepage into our garage block wall stopped. In addition, we had a stone retaining wall that had collapsed. He proposed placing a block wall, which was done, but had someone not been home chipped blocks would have been used. For the water seepage, he proposed a French drain with conduit that would drain the rain water away from the the house into the yard. After completion, we noticed the staining had increased in area in the garage. Numerous attempts were made to contact Greg Ryback or his office by phone and text regarding this issue as he had provided a 2 year warranty for work. I contracted Ryback Landscaping to replace my front sidewalk and do some landscaping and wished I had found them sooner as they did a great job. Greg is very knowledgeable, experienced and his prices are reasonable. His estimate was timely and sent quickly. Greg recommended an excellent high quality paver company and gave us their catalog and we picked out the color and design and he brought out samples and fine tuned it and the sidewalk came out beautifully. It really compliments the house as does the landscaping he did while utilizing the shrubs we wanted and he suggested. Greg is really a nice man and answers all questions and returns calls quickly.
